I find that the more important things I have to do (like revise for exams) I end up watching more tv. In the last three days, I think I've watched mor CSI than I have in years. I like all of them, though Miami is probs my favourite.

*continues watching more CSI*

Is there even an particular order that they need to be watched in, cos I just watch whichever.

A few weeks ago I dug up some old Star Trek episodes. So far done re-watching Voyager (liked it when I was a kid, liked it even more now), and I'm halfway into Next Generation. Tried watching a little bit of the original series, Deep Space Nine, and Enterprise, but they haven't quite managed to capture my interest as much as the two others. Maybe it's just the awesomeness of Janeway and Picard I can't get over...

Oh, and I just found the Shannara Chronicles. Only seen the first episode, but it looks promising.

I've started watching Peaky Blinders at dinner time because Noa likes it so much! I probably only understand every 3rd word, their accent is a bit thick for this American to understand! I may have to figure out how to get captions working.

During lunch, finished last season of Walking Dead last week so this week started Season 5 of Homeland.

Warehouse 13 and the A-Team at the moment. The former for the first time and it is a great show, the latter is a fun blast from the past, if you can look past the fact it is clearly aimed at kids and it is more of a western then a show set in the real modern world it is a fun show with a great cast who you can tell enjoy working together. I like NYPD Blue as much as the next guy, but shows like this also have place in the rotation of things that I watch, and I didn't grow up watching it, so this isn't nostalgia talking, it's just an awesome show if you are in the right mood.

Mobile Suit Gundam, the first series.

If you know anything at all about WW2 and Japan, you can tell the writer of this grew up during it and he is working through his feelings about the war in a cartoon about giant robots. it's interesting to get the Japanese perspective in a series that is about giant robots hitting each other. This show really has a lot of depth to it and despite the cheesy theme song it doesn't really pull any punches when it comes to the horrors of war and it does a good job of showing what it is like to be in the trenches and have no idea what is going on on larger scale then the day to day lives of the people involved. In fact i would say it does a better job then most adult series and movies that try to do the same thing. The only weird thing is that once in a while you will get a scene where children or teenagers are completely nude, and comes out of nowhere and feels out of place, but it is brief and you can fast forward past it without missing anything. The only reason I say it is strange is that the one thing I have read repeatedly about Japanese porn is that it is censored by the government, so their porn is censored but not their giant robot cartoon, odd. Still it is a series well worth checking out and i would love to get the new blu rays at some point. if you are on a budget like me the used VHS tapes and DvDs are finally coming down in price on Ebay and amazon, The dub job isn't the best but i think the translation and acting is better then Gundam Wing which was done long before this series, and it isn't bad enough to ruin the show. if you have any interest in this at all i would say get the first couple of discs or vhs tapes and give it a shot, for something I was expecting to be a complete cheese fest it is really good and it does a great job of making you care about all the characters, even the bratty kids stuck on the ship. It really is that good of a series and will now work it's way into my regular rotation of cartoons I watch.

I did watch first two episodes. Honestly, I do not see what so many people like. Everything feels barbaric. The sex and violence every 8 minutes and Innocent slaughter of animals. Yeah that show and breaking Bad are two shows that everyone talks about but I can't get in to. They are depressing and all the characters are selfish jerks who harm other so there is on one to root for, so I don't care about the story. I gave them each two episodes and gave up. If I don't care about the characters, I can't care about the story.

...On a lighter note, Golden Girls anyone?
I'm obsessed. I MUST be home at a strict 10:30 PM so I can turn on the Hallmark Channel and have two whole hours of slightly crazy old ladies arguing about a man, Sicily circa 1922, cheesecake, St. Olaf, or Stan.

Still on the Star Trek wave. Done with Voyager, NG, DS9 and Enterprise (in that order, for no particular reason). Ended up liking DS9 and Enterprise better than I thought I would (largely because of the doctors, although the whole 'wormhole aliens' plot, plus too much focus on Klingon and Ferengi busness in DS9 went waaaay too far and got boring after a very short while, and I did find Archer to be a somewhat bad example of Federation principles, even though it didn't actually exist while he was flailing around).

Thought I'd give the original series a go, but already halfway into the first season I realized it's got much the same problem as the original Doctor Who series - much too slow-paced, bad costumes, lack of good acting for supporting characters, sloppy plots, and so forth. Might be a generational thing, but I like when things are a little more fast-paced and look somewhat believable. At the time it was probably top notch in the sense of movie effects and pacing, but unless one is a die-hard Star Trek fan, it just isn't interesting enough some 50-60 years later. But it's only 3 seasons, so I thought I'd watch it just or the sake of references.

A Brazilian telenovela called Os Dez Mandamentos.

I went to Portugal 2 months ago for 3 weeks to visit family and I watched it every weekday night with my grandma.. I started watching it once I got back to London.

Generally speaking, I don't like soaps or telenovelas. I prefer my Buffy, Frasier, SPN etc. But I have enjoyed this biblical drama.

The Amazing World of Gumball (For the gag faces and details in drawing)
Teen Titans GO! (In spite of popular opinion of the original show fans, it's supposed to be a gag comedy and it's raucously funny)
We Bare Bears (This is freaking cute and I love their stacking order)

Oddly enough, I got into these shows while on the road and my mother and my cat watch it too.
(My cat actually watches TV.)

Not sure what genre this is considered, but it's a series I watched when it first came out in 2010 and hated the wait for each episode. The LXD, Legion of Extraordinary Dancers. Each episode is less than 30 minutes long and directed by Jon M Chu. The link is for the trailer and all episodes are also on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8toQxUVejiE

I'm absolutely obsessed with RuPaul's Drag Race. I've seen gifsets from it on Tumblr for years now, and I never really thought it was for me. A couple weeks ago I saw it was on Netflix and gave it a try: needless to say I have since watched 4 seasons in a row!

Me, me, me against them, me against enemies, me against friends, somehow they all seem to become one, a sea full of sharks and they all smell blood.

Currently watching Arrow, Gotham and Quantico. Really don't know how story takes its pace for Arrow but last couple of seasons were a total disaster. Hoping this season where Arrow starts its own journey alone like a superhero does justice to it.

So I never watched HBO's Girls because Lena Dunham always rubbed me the wrong way and I figured it would be really pretentious and self-indulgent. But it isn't. It's a pretty realistic look at being in your early 20's and the mistakes you make and horrible choices you do and the whole finding who you are kind of thing. I've got a soft spot for those kind of shows and though there are quite a few from that genre, only a few can truly deliver (Please Like Me, an Australia dramedy, is another example and similar in tone). Though Lena is the creator, head-writer and lead actress her character, Hanna, isn't necessarily portrayed in a good light; she is selfish and judgemental. And I think that's commendable to portray yourself in that way because the view can relate.

Ooh some Please Like Me love! Yay! Such a good but little known show!

As for what I've been watching...well in the last month I went on a massive Teen Wolf binge and finally got caught up (honestly it was kind of scary how fast I tore through those episodes? I was not expecting it to be so addictive...), then I watched all of MTV's Sweet/Vicious in one night (oops? But once I started I couldn't stop, and it's only ten episodes...), then I moved on to You Me Her (bizarrely difficult show to get access to, but it just got added to UK/IRL Netflix so I took advantage of that while I could), and now I'm planning to finally get around to watching The Secret Circle (that 2011 CW show that lasted 1 season, and that I have been meaning to watch since before it even got cancelled...yeah I'm that much of a disaster). And all of that on top of the currently 10-12? I think? shows I'm watching weekly. Yeah. This is always a busy time of year for me, tv-wise.

Also, a month of particularly bad mental health means I've been watching a LOT of TV in an attempt to distract myself from all the lovely anxiety symptoms invading my body every day.

The Simpsons.

I was in the middle of Season 2 on OnDemand and then I found myself watching just the Treehouse of Horror trilogies they've done since the second season. (Personal favorite, The Raven, with descriptive narration by James Earl Jones. Close second was the Twilight Zone parody on the boy with psychic powers to disfigure the displeased). However, a few episodes had rather crappy mixing between the music and the vocals and sound effects that the music drowned out the latter two. In fact, one of the Treehouse of Horrors cut off before the third story.

I can't complain, it was offered for free. Besides, The Simpsons has been an institution for 30 years, going back to "Goodnight Simpsons".

You an Aussie? I'm surprised it has a somewhat well known reputation outside of Australia. I'm hoping it becomes more well known. Like I said, one of the best depictions of being in your 20's, but also probably the most realistic depictions of mental health.

Couple other shows I'm watching at the moment:
Gap Year - An English show on E4 about a (broken) group of people backpacking through Asia. Good group dynamic, nice mix of drama and comedy.
Fleabag - Another English show, dark comedy with a lot of drama. Kick ass female anti-hero lead.

Shows on my next-to-watch list:
- The Leftovers season 3
- Fargo season 3
- Catastrophe season 3

Nope! I'm actually Irish I found out about it through Caitlin Stasey's twitter account, and then watched it online. It was definitely one of the trickier shows to watch, in terms of finding a way of watching all the episodes. So worth it though! Hearing that they've decided to end it was so sad I'm hoping that it'll get an international Netflix release at some point. I'd love for it to reach a wider audience.
