I must have downloaded a sim who had this in their file, because I didn't download these ugly skin tones myself.
All of the maxis-made sims (Goopy GilsCarbo, Jan Tellerman, Bella Goth, etc) don't have their regular maxis-made skin anymore, it is overrided with a hideous substitute and it even overrided my other sims 2 skin overlay.
I have a bajillion files and I don't understand computer-techy language so I can't tell which package file contains the ugly skin tones so I can delete them!

Can anyone help please? What would it start with? How do I find these game-ruining skin tones?

Oh yeah, I'm so inspired to help the new poster with a snotty attitude. Not.

Nonetheless, since you apparently don't know, some people consider a post that's all bold type to be a bit shouty. Apologizing, correcting it, and moving on would win you more friends than getting snippy does. eta: Did I say "snippy"? What I meant was "grossly insulting".

Echoing Darby here. Check your attitude. It's not doing you any favors.

(And your choice of insults is gross, not to mention horribly inappropriate.)

You have to do an uninstall-reinstall of the game. Sorry.

Simblr.
I'm also on GoS. I go on here for the community, not really for the downloading. Just being honest.

^ What Darby said. Also, Mootilda is one of the kindest , most helpful , patient and talented people to ever bless the sims community. Hurling what you perceive as an insult at a much revered and appreciated simmer (or anyone , for that matter) isn't a good way to conduct oneself , here or anywhere.

Good job being rude to people that are trying to help you. That's going to get you far in life.

Lololololl wtf is all of this? Because I said queer? If you're getting offended over the internet, you must be new.

Trying to help me? The first thing someone said was NOT trying to help me, dumbass.

I don't even know who "Mootilda" is, and I don't care if he/she's famous over the Simming internet.

You know you can edit your posts so you don't have to make four posts at once. That is very straining for the servers and if everyone did that, maintenance costs would sky rocket.

Also: If you don't like it here, you can always look for another forum.
We don't really enjoy rude people insulting everyone.

You should try MATY!. It's a really good site for Sims 2 troubleshooting. I go there all the time.

The file you need to find and delete is 7c94f9e340ae239fbe1e533ee24e8853_ooo1.package. That's the only one that could cause the problem you described. It could be anywhere on your computer , possibly even in your Windows installation. Also I highly recommend doing all of your downloading at TSR in the future. That action alone will virtually guarantee that you won't ever have cc problems in the future. Best of luck!

I think the only one new here is you, dear.

Regardless, Fivey has actually offered probably the best advice you're going to get here. MATY is far more suited to troubleshooting issues like this; it's kind of what they're known for. I especially recommend you contact J. M. Pescado; he's great with newbies and will definitely help you figure out what your problem is.

Pretty much everything you could want to know about downloading, installing, using, or removing custom content can be found in the above-linked FAQs!

If you still have trouble, you can post a new thread in the Help Q&A forums. There's a link to the Help Q&A forums at the top of every FAQ in the Help section. If you do post there, make sure to read and follow the directions that will display before you post there!

Good luck, and happy simming! :)
