Is it okay to buy a fridge and other kitchen things (once you've raised the money) so that you don't have to live off of what you pick in the garden or do you have to limit that too? I bought a fridge, a stove, and one counter top and have been feeding my sim that way for the past few days, but I don't know whether or not it's cheating. =/
On a side note, my sim is about to become a young adult (don't have to worry about that pesky curfew anymore) and found a working stereo in a junk pile. I now have music. 😊🎶

I love playing this challenge. usually I have my teenage sim earning enough so I can get her to eat fast at a diner. once I'm at that point where I can afford like a day or two of meals I have her stay at the library, reading street art skill books so she can level to the point where she can get a legal paid pardon for tagging. she can make like 1000 dollars per tag and can generally crank out 3 or 4 tags a day. that's pretty good money end of the day she doesn't starve anymore needless to say.

This is the first challenge Ive played, and I have had an absolute blast so far! No baby, or anything, honestly I dont know where I'd find the time to get my sim knocked up! 80% of her time is spent jogging between lots, 5% is sleeping and the rest is fishing or harvesting plants. lol

Here's how Suzannah Mayfair spent her last night as a teen:

In my head, the reason she's homeless is she ran away from a religious cult. Her grandmother, who conversely was the one who ran away from her family to join said cult, had a fit of remorse in her old age and gave Suzannah her last $50 from the 'real world', helped her knit a thicker skirt and then helped her escape in the middle of the night. Suzannah's parents are still fanatic adherents of the cult.

I like to pretend that the cabin I built her was actually an old fisherman's shack, since it makes no sense to me that she'd be able to construct something sturdy on her own. Currently it posses a small mudroom, a bathroom and I've just finished an outhouse. Does that count for the 3 room house requirement before looking for a job? Either way, I dont think I will get her employment, its quite a lot of fun being such an active participant in her life. Recently shes been able to socialise a little, at the library etc. when shes weathering out the winter nights. Perhaps soon she'll have an 'accidental' baby. In my head such a thing would cause her to withdraw even more fully from society. Perhaps once the child reaches teenage years and begins inquiring as to their parentage, she'll be convinced to reach back out to the baby daddy. xD

Well that's what happens when you're on your own and you're alright at letting nice things go

So i just started this challenge and so far it's been almost 2 weeks, and my girl who I named Payton Dovovan, now has a boyfriend and is going to have a kid. The attachments are pictures of her and her boyfriend, who I renamed Dallas Donovan(originally Dallas Shallow).
I also chose to use Riverview for my challenge.

I personally think this challenge is better than Midnight Sun challenge. The former keeps limit my sims living in a very small island for 5 generations, even they get very rich. I think that doesn't make sense and easily make me bored.

I like to send my sim to the school, then I can choose his trait when he grows up to the next life stage.

I think collection and science skills (university package is required) are the best way to get rich quickly.

I agree. Fishing & gardening are good once you've really leveled up in them too!

During my first go at this, my game glitched so that my girl almost instantly leveled skills. Like, we're talking a one-block jog boosting her to max level Athletic.

Oh, and since I had her be a prostitute, I made all her woohoo's be risky. First guy got we pregnant. With twins. And when they were born I was pretty much broke. Try to earn money when you can't leave the lot due to babies and can't harvest your crop because your mood is always too bad (stressed, no shower or toilet yet, can't sleep very long because babies keep crying, only one crib...) Those were some tough days.

You can buy appliances once you have enough money.

woo we yeah that is tough. The sims get very tired when pregnant, and have very little time when they have children. My sim on the sims 2 lost her mind while she was taking care of her infant daughter by herself and trying to get her music career going.

Default Runaway Teen
Hi all, I'm doing the Runaway Teen Challenge on the sims 3 and I'm wondering why my sim's fishing skill is barely moving. I am playing in Bridgeport and she hasn't caught any fish yet. I'm playing on Youtube I have uploaded 6 episodes so far, she is surviving from the junkyard and I had to wait for that to get some junk. It hasn't been easy. I don't plan to get her pregnant but I have the mods. I just bought a new computer it's faster so maybe the fishing skill will improve now. The library in Bridgeport doesn't have any skill books, I couldn't believe that. This is my first time playing Bridgeport. Any ideas.

Here is a link for the recently uploaded youtube channel if you want to check it out: https://youtu.be/bg1vsVyCbMU

Well, have you tried skipping the time so the time bar is at x3? Your sim would fish faster & gain the skill better. Leave the sims fishing for a while, and soon enough you should be on your way. The first couple of levels in any skill are easy to get, so you shouldn't have any problem. I've also had the experience where, the more fish you catch, the quicker your skill bar goes up! So make sure that you're fishing in a spot that is active (preferably with fish jumping out of the water, that's a good sign). As for the Bridgeport library's poor selection of books, yes I figured that out as well. The first time I went was when I was looking to gain a gardening skill so my sim could plant some crops. I suggest you buy a bookshelf (if you have the money, if not good luck :P) and perhaps you might get lucky like I did, and end up with some skill books! Also I'll definitely check out your videos! I LOVE sims let's plays haha.

Hope I helped

Week I don't know!
I hadn't played my save for a while so here is what's new.

Doe Family Photo Diary [Imgur Album Link]

Emma is now a child! She is a loner, bookworm and loves the outdoors; ballet and fashion are also her passions (:
Mars is pretty mad about sharing his room with his little sister
Bonnie is working at the school her kids attend as a playground monitor. Her ambitions are to earn qualifications in teaching.
No lover for Bon at the moment unfortunately. Jupiter never comes to see Mars and Emma so it wasn't working. He has a family.
It gives her more to time to dote on her family so it's all good.
The house has undergone a lot of changes but I don't know if they are permanent yet. The Doe's live hand to mouth so money doesn't last long.
Emma has a friend that Bonnie isn't very keen on as the boy lives in worse conditions than them however she doesn't want to judge him too soon either and upset her daughter.
Next up should be Mars' birthday into teenage-hood. I wonder if he'll stay the same quiet, artsy kid or go down a different path

Cool I think Emma would have loved a twin to share her secrets with because her brother ignores her a lot.
