((OCC I was hoping either lustyforlife was going to respond with a defense for Illustra or Gerbara would have Stella explain why she voted for Adrien. It could end at any time as all I think all votes are in.

But we are at a tie, 2 for Adrien, 2 for Illustra and 1 for Esther - someone correct me if I'm wrong. So do they both get killed or have a stand off or do we have to revote?))

(((ooc: Actually, there are 3 for Illustra (Adrien, Esther and Vahn... as I take it Garnet's last posts means Vahn's voting for Illustra(?)), 2 for Adrien (Illustra and Stella) and 1 for Esther (Mina). )))

(((ooc: A free form is an RP without a goal, really. This one is all about staying alive and finding out who the vampire hunter is. It's involved riddles and choosing one out of three different locations to go, etc etc. A free form is more like... Have your character do what you want them to do, and go where you want them to go. No puzzles, no missions, just plain roleplay fun. Most of the RPs in this forum aren't free form, but there are a few, like "Queen's Clothes" and "Sweet Sixteen". If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me, or devoshka, who's running this one and will be running the free form as well. Just want to keep the off topic posts down to a minimum. )))

All eyes were on Illustra, all glowing with rage and hatred. He'd stayed silent for too long in a room filled with vampires yearning for an explanation. Now it was too late. The suspicions had turned into what they believed to be knowledge, and the fervor that came with it drew out their inner Beasts. Words no longer held any meaning. It didn't matter that he stood, calm and collected, and that even when they circled him and backed him into a corner, he held his upright posture, radiating with the authority and poise they'd claimed he was lacking. They did not see it. They did not listen to his explanation. To them, it sounded like excuses.
He knew he was doomed even before the first set of nails dug into his flesh.

All the vampires were so caught up in the moment, tearing Illustra limb from limb, that they didn't notice there was one who didn't participate. One, who instead of joining in the dismembering, slowly backed away and briefly ducked out of the room.
Not until they were all standing over the remains, watching as they slowly turned to ash, did they realize one was missing. Just as the realization hit them, a soft chuckle emitting from the doorway had their eyes darting from the evidence of their horrible deed.
There he stood, the one missing from the blood bath, the one who for the past couple of nights had wiped out more vampires than were now left to hold this very meeting.
A vague but highly self-satisfied smirk was tugging at his lips - and quite rightfully so, as he had every reason to be pleased with himself - while cradling an old, heavy crossbow in his arms. Loaded with a sharp wooden stake.
He was feeling quite smug about how things had turned out. They had all saved him the trouble of taking on the most powerful and dangerous vampire there, the Methuselah. They had once again done his job for him, just like they'd done with Ada. But this time, they had done the right one in. Ada had been a fairly young one, in more ways than one, and he could've easily taken care of her himself. Instead, he had tried to incriminate the second most dangerous one there, at the first meeting; the Nosferatu. But alas, he'd failed at that one, and instead had to take care of her now. Although he didn't intend to give her a chance to even try to fight him. She was too dangerous to face head on, being a Nosferatu - an elder one at that - and thus an expert at hiding and sneaking. If he didn't rid himself of her as soon as possible, the tables may very well turn on him as swiftly as he'd turned them on the vampires before him.

He took only a moment to revel in the shock displayed on their faces, Esther's especially, before lifting the crossbow to his shoulder and aiming it at her. As expected, she was the first one to react, to first come to her senses and realize what was going on, and more importantly, what was just about to happen to her.

"As much as it pains me, I do suppose I owe you a big 'thank you'."

The hunter spoke in a hushed voice, fully aware that they would all have heard even the tiniest whisper sent forth from his lips.

"Things couldn't have worked out more perfectly even if I had planned them my..."

However, he did not get to finish his sentence. He saw Esther flinch in what was the beginning of an attack, and he fired instantly, before she could use her superhuman speed to reach him and rob him of his chance. He hadn't come this far only to stumble and fall on the finishing line.

A low thud resounded as the stake hit it's mark, striking Esther in the chest. It sounded almost as if she were hollow. For a split second she froze, staring straight into the eyes of her slayer. A snarl seemed to escape her as her body started to crumble, quickly turning to ashes just like Illustra moments earlier, dissipating in a cloud of dust. Behind her, the remaining three vampires gasped.

The hunter, on the other hand, breathed a sigh of relief. The most dangerous one of the bunch was out of the way. He didn't think the remaining three would be too much a of problem. By themselves. Facing all three at once, that was not an option. And so before either of them could regain their ability to take action, he was gone from the doorway, slipping away into the darkness covering the rest of the house.

In the blink of an eye they followed, only to discover he was nowhere to be found. Little did they know that he knew the house like the back of his own hand. Having disposed of the elder once living there, he'd had weeks to memorize every corner, and every turn. He'd found the secret passages rumoured to exist, and learned to enter them with the greatest of ease. Like now. It left a trace of his presence lingering tauntingly in the air, but his form completely out of sight. Not even stopping and standing completely still, listening intently for the sound of his breathing, gave the vampires a clue as to where he could be hiding. He had simply disappeared.
And if they couldn't find him and kill him, there was only one thing they could do:
Run.

But as soon as they headed for the exit, a loud clanging noise was heard from the main entrance. Turning the only corner left between them and their way out, the three vampires discovered it had been the sound of a large iron gate falling from above, so heavy it had partly cracked the stone flooring when hitting it. Behind the sturdy gate, on the other side of the thick and narrowly placed bars, was the exit.
So close, and yet so far away.

Stella instantly recognized the fact that this was a dead end. Grabbing the arm closest to her, she hastily dragged Mina with her, away from the gate, and back into the house in search of another way out.
Vahn, however, was too stubborn to give up that easily. With the powers of his Brujah blood, there was a chance he could force the gate, maybe even lift it. He didn't even notice the ladies taking off in another direction, but instead took on the gate. And so when he heard a sweeping sound from behind him, he thought it was the two women.
He was wrong.

"You're wasting your time, fledgling".

The hunter's voice dripped with contempt, his tongue spitting the word commonly used by Kindred in reference to the newly embraced. He'd had to learn so much about Kindred society, etiquette and laws, that it had made his head hurt. And when he'd thought there was no more to learn, he'd soon discovered there was twice as much left to study. But it had proven useful. The fact that he was still alive, and now finishing off the last of the known vampires currently dwelling in Los Angeles, was his proof.

Vahn slowly turned around, feeling the rage run high within his body, and as he did, his eyes caught glimpse of something shiny. Something long. Something just sliding soundlessly from it's sheath. A katana. The hunter had chosen to abandon the crossbow in favor of a more direct method. He expected the Brujah's foolhardiness would leave him thoughtless and open to an easy attack. He'd seen many displays of the young man's hot temper, and how it left him impulsive and careless. And he assumed such would be the case here as well.
But this time, it was the hunter's turn to be wrong.
While Vahn wanted nothing but to lash out and tear the hunter's head off, the katana had him thinking twice. It was a sharp weapon, and any limbs would be in danger of getting cut off. And so, instead of being granted the upper hand by having Vahn attack first, it was the hunter that had to take the first step. He readied his sword, raising it slightly back over his shoulder so that he'd be able to manage a swift swing. But as his hands moved back, Vahn seized the opportunity to strike. In a flash he leapt forward and delivered a punch with such force that it sent the hunter flying backwards and crashing into the opposite wall. Grimacing with the pain shooting through his back, he slowly slid down the wall, to the floor. The katana was no longer in his hands, but instead was laying a few feet to his right. Currently out of his reach. Slightly dazed he saw the blurry form of Vahn straightening his back and squaring his shoulders, and his gleaming fangs protruding from his upper lip. In mere seconds, he would be all over the hunter.

"Adrien, you piece of sh*t", he hissed, his eyes glowing red with hatred as he closed in on his prey.

But the hunter was nothing, if not prepared. Coughing a chuckle, he reached back and pulled something out from behind him. A gun. Without a moment of hesitation he squeezed the trigger, one, two, three, four times, sending a multitude of sharp pains piercing Vahn's abdomen with such force that he doubled over and was almost knocked off of his feet. A pained snarl that made him sound much like a wounded and aggressive animal, escaped his lips, and he glared over at Adrien as if wishing looks alone could kill.
That was when he realized that Adrien hadn't thought the bullets would actually destroy him. They were merely a way for him to buy enough time to throw himself to the side, his fingers once again gripping the sword. And this time, he didn't have to wait for Vahn to attack. This time, the young vampire was already close enough for him to finish what he had started. A swift, strong swing was all it took for the blade to cut through Vahn's throat, and send his body falling one way, and his head another.
Still on the floor, Adrien cringed as the blood splattered all over him, and he looked down on his clothes with distaste and dismay. With blood all over him, he'd be more easily tracked than before. Once the two remaining vampires realized it was him smelling of Kindred blood, they'd see him coming a mile away.
Sighing to himself, he struggled to get back up on his feet, supporting himself against the wall in the process. There was little to be done about that now.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the house, Stella and Mina were still searching for another way out. Now more desperately than before. At first they hadn't realized that Vahn hadn't been following them from the main entrance, and once they did and turned back, the gunshots echoing through the mansion had had them stopping dead in their tracks, and the complete silence that followed had them turning on their heels and fleeing in the opposite direction once again. Had Vahn been the surviving party of that fight, he would've let them know, by calling out for them, or even just by making any sound at all.
But there was none. Only silence. And the two women were smart enough to know what that meant.

Increasingly rattled they stormed through the house, searching for any door leading outside. They'd already tried the windows, pushing all the thick drapes aside, only to discover that there were iron bars covering every window in every room. The hunter had done a good job in ensuring that the beautiful building would be their prison, their grave.
Finally, they found their way to the back door. As expected it too had been blocked. But much to Mina's and Stella's surprise, the only thing standing in the way of their freedom this time, was the fact that the door had been bolted from the inside, with nothing more than wooden boards. For a brief moment, the two ladies simply stared at it in disbelief. Did the hunter honestly think that vampires would be kept locked up in a house by a few measly wooden boards?
Maybe he wasn't as clever as he thought he was...

"Come on", Stella said. "Let's get to work."

But as her fingers latched onto one of the upper boards, in order to tear it away, a sudden searing pain made her cry out and quickly back away. Shocked she stared down at her hands. She'd only briefly touched the wood, and yet they now looked as if she had wrapped them tightly around a red hot poker.
However, as brief as the touch had been, she had managed to register one thing; the boards had been wet. And it didn't take her long to put two and two together.

"The bastard's soaked them with holy water..."

It was another dead end. And it was the last one. There was no other way out. And that all left them with only one option; to stay and fight.
But they had to stick together. Adrien had proved to be a powerful opponent, despite being a mere mortal. He'd already killed more vampires on his own than they'd even thought possible for a single human being. And he obviously knew his way around the mansion.

Moving close together, the two ladies headed back, deeper into the large mansion, stopping only briefly to get rid of their shoes as to not announce their whereabouts to Adrien by having the heels constantly click against the flooring. It also left them with a better chance to pick up on any noise coming from Adrien himself.
But no matter how hard they listened, they heard nothing. Ever since the gunshots, the place was eerily quiet.
Carefully they padded through the rooms, exchanging no words whatsoever. Only silent gestures. And still the only sounds they could make out, were their own. Wherever Adrien was hiding, he must be keeping really still.

They had almost given up on finding him, thinking maybe Vahn had managed to inflict some injury on him before he died, and thus disabled him from making any further attacks. Although that would mean he had probably retreated, and quite possibly left the building, which in turn meant there was still a way out. They just hadn't found it yet.
But then, as they were about to leave one room and enter the next, he struck. Lurking just next to the doorway, his back pressed against the wall, he waited until the precise moment when Stella had come through, and Mina was on her way. A swift motion placed him right in Mina's path, and before she could react or even call out for Stella, he gave her a violent shove that sent her delicate frame tumbling backwards to the floor.
Seconds later, the large wooden door slammed shut infront of her, seperating her from Stella. And Adrien. She could hear him turn the key in the lock on the other side, and rushed to peer through the keyhole in an attempt to see what was going on. But he had left the key in, denying her any glimpse of what was happening.
Taking a step back, she ran her hands and wild eyes over the smooth wood, frantically searching for any weaknesses that would allow her force the door. But she found nothing. If she was going to break through, she was going to have to rely on strength alone. And that would simply take too long. By the time she'd get it open, either Stella or Adrien would be dead. If it was to be Adrien, there was no hurry in getting the door open. If it was Stella, no use.

After having pushed Mina, Adrien quickly spun around as to not give Stella a chance to come at him from behind. She too had turned, the moment she had heard the soft "oomph" coming from Mina as she was sent flying back. Apparently the trick had been bold enough to momentarily stun Stella. She hadn't thought Adrien would actually put himself at risk like that, as it may very well have backfired on him. Especially since he had blood all over him, and on his weapon. How could she have missed the scent? How could she have missed smelling him?
Well, the answer was simple. He had them spooked. There were too many thoughts running through their heads for them to be able to take in everything their senses were conveying.
If she hadn't been so angry and filled with hatred, she would've been impressed. He'd actually managed to make them even more vulnerable than before.

"Clever girl", he smirked at her, pushing himself away from the door with his free hand, only to grasp the katana with both while slowly moving towards her.

She'd been one of the two to actually vote for him this time. Illustra had been taken care of by the others, and Adrien had toyed with the idea of not dropping his act so soon, only to instigate another voting. One that would probably have led to Stella being accused and executed, as she would've been next on their list of suspects. The way she had avoided to give an explanation for how she had voted, had left them suspicious. It would've worked out beautifully.
However, this time, Adrien wanted to do the honors himself. Taking on Illustra would've surely brought about his own downfall, but Stella... Stella was no Methuselah. He was confident he'd be able to put an end to her unlife without even breaking a sweat. Mostly because he had a special plan in store for her. And such a simple plan it was.
Still moving closer to her, he started taking random stabs at her. He had to keep her occupied so that she wouldn't get a chance to concentrate long enough to use her special vampiric powers on him. The Toreador powers were far too dangerous.

"It's a shame no one will ever know just HOW clever, isn't it?" he taunted, trying to keep her completely focused on him and not realize what he was trying to do.

Then came the moment he'd been waiting for. She'd moved just infront of another doorway, and as he lashed out yet again, she was forced to back up. Through the doorway and into the room beyond. But much to her surprise, he didn't follow. Instead, she saw his lips curl in a smug smile, and that was when it dawned on her. He'd deliberately manuevered her so that she'd end up in that room.

"Check, and mate", he said, quickly reaching for the door.

Unlike the other one - the one he'd slammed shut a minute ago - this one was made of heavy steel, and it gave a low rumbling sound as it slid into place, blocking Stella's only escape. It was so heavy, Adrien had to put his full weight on it to make it close completely.

At first, Stella simply stared at it, panic washing over her. She was truely trapped.
But what would be her fate? Why had he locked her in here? What did he have in mind?
Slowly she turned around, inspecting the room in the process. It was completely empty. No furniture whatsoever. There weren't even any drapes covering the barred windows. Instead, she realized the glass in each and every windowframe had been smashed. She could feel the cool night air caress her face.
Suddenly, she gasped and her eyes widened in terror. She'd realized what Adrien had in store for her. The one enemy she simply could not fight; dawn. The room was facing east, and there was nothing she could use to cover the window. Come sunlight, she'd be burned to ash; one of the most painful ways for vampires to die, and thus, one of the most feared.

On the other side of the door, Adrien grinned, congratulating himself on yet another plan executed with pure perfection. From the moment he'd seen the room - the previous owner's bed chamber - he'd known it would come in handy, and serve a most exquisite purpose. All thanks to the late elder's genious idea. The door that had been installed to protect him from the sun's devestating rays, would now keep one of his own kind from escaping the very same.
It was almost poetic.

But a few seconds later, Adrien's smile slowly faded as he headed back to the other locked door. With Stella taken care of, that left only one... And it would be the hardest one. There was no doubt in his mind about that. During the few but intense nights he'd spent with Mina, he'd actually come to care for her. That part of the act had been easy, as it had sprung from something he really did feel. Although he had probably embellished it a little. He'd had to. He'd needed someone to believe in him, and be on his side. It narrowed the chances that anyone would suspect him, as a hunter would've been expected to be more private, and keep to himself as to not run the risk of his cover being blown. And that was exactly why Adrien had chosen to do the exact opposite, and everything that came with it; spending hours with Mina, being close to her, telling her things she'd wanted to know (even though it had been mostly lies), and trying to get her to trust him. Even offering her his blood. Although that was something he wouldn't have done, had she not been drugged at the time. If she'd been lucid, she would've realized he had a heartbeat, and that his blood flowed more easily in his veins than it would in a vampire's.
It had all been a game of tactics.
But actually developing feelings for one of his victims to be, that had not been part of the plan. He hadn't expected that. Maybe it was her honesty that did it? The way she had shared her secret with him, allowing herself to be vulnerable. He was well aware that she hadn't willingly told him, that the words had just seemed to slip out of her, but that only made it hold even more meaning to him; the fact that she hadn't been able to stop herself. It meant she had felt something for him too.
But while the story of her unborn child had really touched him, it had also reminded him why these creatures had to die; they were monsters, caring little about anything but themselves and their own needs. And there was simply no room to make exceptions when exterminating them. Even if he wanted to.

Taking a deep breath, he pushed all personal feelings aside and tried to focus on the task at hand. Right now, Mina knew exactly where he was, and that the door he'd locked between them was his only way out of this part of the house. Or so it would seem. Adrien knew better than to trap himself, and leave himself open to an ambush once he decided to unlock the door and step through to the room in which he'd left Mina. He had no intention of giving her the upper hand.
Tightening his grip on the sword in his hand, he strided over to the nearby fireplace and deftly pressed one of the beautifully detailed lion heads in the black marble mantle piece. A soft sweeping sound was heard as the back of the fireplace pivoted to reveal a secret passage hidden behind it. Glancing around briefly, more out of habit than actually thinking anyone was watching him, Adrien ducked into the passage and pushed the trap door shut behind him. Then he quietly followed the passage, careful not to make a sound, and upon reaching a narrow crossroad, he turned left and continued until he reached a "dead end". This would place him opposite to the door Mina would be expecting him to open. Too bad there were no peep holes that would allow him to see if she was still in the room, and if so, which direction she was facing. But he'd just have to take his chances. He still had one big advantage; the element of surprise.
Reaching for the tiny switch he knew was somewhere to his right, his finger fumbled a bit in the dark before they found it and flicked it. The secret door in front of him - the classic book case - slowly eased open, emitting a soft creak that had Mina spin around in a split second. By now, she'd backed away from the locked door, but had still been facing it when she heard the soft noise behind her.
Turning around, her eyes locked with Adrien's as he slowly stepped out of the shadows and into the dimly lit room.

They stood simply staring at one another in complete silence in what felt like an eternity but was truly only a few seconds. If Adrien had had the tiniest idea of maybe letting her go, it was now gone in a flash. Looking into her eyes, he knew he had to kill her. Not because of his principles alone, but also (and mostly) because if he let her live, she'd stop at nothing to see him dead. The pain and the hurt briefly glistening in the eyes otherwise filled with nothing but hatred, told him there was no way, nothing he could do to get her to join his side, to join HIM. Not now, after he'd decieved and betrayed her more than he'd betrayed any of the others. He could feel the hatred flowing from her almost as if it had materialized and was aiming to choke him.
And how could he blame her? She had once loved and trusted a man, only to discover that he had betrayed her from the very start. Since then, she didn't seem to have trusted anyone, and once she finally dared to try and put a little bit of trust in another man, it turned out that he, too, had betrayed her from the very beginning.
By letting her live, Adrien would sign his own death sentence. There was no doubt in his mind about that.
And so it had all suddenly turned very simple. One of them had to die. Righ here and now.

Shifting slighty, he saw Mina's eyes stray from his as a tiny movement of his hand made the edge of the blade swing inches to the right, drawing her attention to it.
This was it.
Stepping forward, he was now careful to avoid making eye contact. The Tremere held powerful magic, and if he wasn't careful, she'd soon have him on his knees. He wasn't sure if looking her in the eyes actually made him an easier target, but he wasn't going to try and find out. Besides, focusing on her movements instead of her enchanting pools of icey blue made the whole thing easier, mentally.

However, he was soon to discover that averting his eyes from hers did little to keep her from gaining power over him. He'd barely taken a full step towards her, when suddenly he felt all his ability to act drain from him, and he was left incapable of doing anything but stare at her. A voice in the back of his head was screaming that she was using her powers on him, that his current frozen state was just an illusion. But his body didn't listen, nor did the larger portion of his mind. All he could do was watch in awe as she glided elegantly across the floor towards him. He knew he probably only had moments left to live, but... he honestly didn't care. It was the oddest feeling.
Upon reaching him, she stopped abruptly, careful to keep some distance between them. Even the slightest touch would bring him out of his daze, and she didn't want him to get the chance to bolt, simply because she'd been clumsy.
She studied his face briefly, and now saw his eyes in a completely different light. The mystery was no longer there, the sensitivity from the previous nights was gone... She couldn't even see the hint of arrogance that had always been there. All she could see, with her vision so filled with hatred, was a snake. A cold-hearted reptile.

Raising both hands, she moved in to finish him off, lunging forward and pinning him to the wall behind him, sending the katana falling to the floor in the process. The force with which he was slammed against the hard wooden panel immediately brought him out of his trance, and he grimaced as he felt her nails dig into his wrists. But mostly because the realization of how this situation was likely to turn out suddenly hit him full force. And now, he was no longer all that indifferent. It almost felt as if someone had suddenly tipped a full bucket of ice cold water over his head. He had to find a way to break free from her. He didn't have long, as her head was now almost next to his, her fangs grazing the soft skin on his neck. In a moment or two, they would break through it, piercing his flesh and his jugular, and unlike when she'd been drinking from his wrist, this time she would see no reason to be gentle. He tried to struggle, to push her away, but in vain. Although it did buy him some time, as she had to draw her attention away from his throat and instead focus on keeping him pinned. However, as soon as she had adjusted to holding him in place despite his attempts to break free, she once again took aim on the veins now clearly visible from his efforts.
And that's when he suddenly stopped resisting her. He ceased to struggle completely, and instead became almost limp in her firm grip.
It caught her completely off guard, as she had not at all expected him to surrender. She lifted her head to look at him, and only then did she realize that surrender was the last thing on his mind. Instead, he acted, quickly taking full advantage of her surprised state. In one swift motion he tossed her to the side, sending her crashing into wall herself, and before she'd regained her balance, he'd snatched the katana up from the floor. Without one single moment of hesitation, he then drove it right through her shoulder, and into the wooden panel behind her, literally nailing HER to the wall. The immense pain drew a throaty outcry from her lips, and if she hadn't been stuck, she would've slumped onto the floor.
While Adrien's move didn't come close to killing her, it left her unable to do anything. Every movement, no matter how small, caused the pain to shoot through her entire body, and the agony of it all left her incapable of concentrating long enough to wield her vampiric powers even to defend herself.

"Mina."

Adrien was talking to her, speaking her name, and for a brief moment she managed to gather enough strength to look at him. He stood only a few feet away, looking back at her, and his voice when speaking her name was soft and gentle, sounding nothing like the spiteful snarl he'd used to address her and the other three after they'd killed Illustra.
Holding her gaze he stepped closer, reaching back behind him as he did. Once his hand reappeared, it was holding a wooden stake, just like the one he'd used to slay Esther.

"Mina", he said once again, looking at her with something resembling sympathy, and... sorrow?

He lifted his free hand to her face, and stroked her cheek with his thumb, a gentle caress brushing over her porcelain skin before speaking his two final words to her;

"I'm sorry".

With that he placed the stake over her chest, and with a forceful thrust, drove it right into her heart.
She didn't scream, she didn't even groan. The only sound coming from her lips was a soft sigh, barely audible. It was a sigh that took every little piece of life with it as it left her body, and as Adrien slowly backed away he watched her form crumble into a little pile of dust. For the first time, he was amazed at the sight. To think that something so vibrant, so vivid could be turned to... nothing... in just a matter of seconds.

Staring at the pathetic little pile of ashes for a few seconds, Adrien finally pulled himself together. His work wasn't yet done. He still needed to tie up some loose ends.
Heading back into the secret passage, he picked up the two big cans of gasoline he'd kept in there, and moved on to douse the place with the highly flamable liquid. He wasn't going to leave any trace whatsoever. No piles of dust, no blood, no fingerprints.
By the time he finished, the sky at the horizon had taken on a red and purple tone, announcing that the sun was about to rise. He slowly made his way over to the main entrance, pushing a button on the remote control he'd carried with him. The heavy gate was hoisted up into the wall above the door, hiding it from sight and granting Adrien access to the exit.
As he stepped out onto the doorstep, the first rays of sunlight hit the mansion, and a loud scream filled the air as Stella finally met her doom.
There he stayed, listening to her anguish and her torment until it finally faded, a tiny smirk tugging at his lips.
Then, as silence settled over the mansion once again, he pulled out a pack of cigarettes from the inside of his jacket and placed one of them between his lips. He lit up, took a long, blissfull drag, and then tossed the lighter over his shoulder, back into the house. An instant roar announced that the flame had made contact with the gasoline, and with a smug smile he stepped out from underneath the roof, and into the early light of dawn.

Aw thank you Atorpa Mina died as she would have wanted. (She supspected him but was prepared to die for what she felt.) Beautifully written.

But she will be rising from the dead....

Thanks. I'm glad I was able to keep her somewhat true to character. I hope I didn't totally ruin anyone else's character? I just wanted there to be more than just "Ha ha, you're all dead", and to give each character something special... Didn't want any of them to seem like a pushover.

I think you did a wonderful job with that. Each character's death seemed pretty realistic and believable to me at least! Wow. He really had Vevila fooled (and me! I mean I had suspicions, but wow.) Really well done, everyone!
I can't wait for the free-form so I can revive Vev! X]

I've had a great time as well. This was the first RP I joined, simply because I HAD to, being based on VtM and all.

And I'm so looking forward to the free form. I've had my character ready for almost two weeks. Heh. *s*

HOLY. SHIT.

That was awesome, Atropa. I am gonna have to reread it now; I was reading so quickly that I could hardly take in every detail. I wanted to know what happened ASAP.

And I knew I should've gone with my gut feeling, LOL! Adrien is such a charmer, though... I stopped suspecting him after Vahn's first real encounter with him. The last few days I was sure the hunter was Illustra.

But ah, my poor Vahn... Such a horrible death. And he never got his revenge. Thanks for staying true to his character and letting him get a punch in! I didn't imagine him going down too easily and he definitely didn't, so kudos to you.

Finally, thanks for doing this thing, Vosh. It was tons of fun. See you all in the freeform!

Awesomely written and an amazing end to this roleplay!

Thank you to EVERYONE!

And now I can finally share something I have been biting my tongue about since day one. This was once the main plot in a VtM LARP - who was the mortal who had infiltrated a meeting of vamps. They found him in five minutes. They got everyone to shut the heck up and listened for who had a heartbeat! XD

But darn... should have gone with my second choice. Without my game I can't create a new vamp for the free-form.

But once again - thank you EVERYONE!

Thank you so much guys. I'm glad you liked it.
I tried to honor each and every character, in some small way at least.

skylark - I know! I too had an idea for how they could've easily found out who the hunter was. Staking isn't actually lethal to vampires in Vtm, it just freezes them for a couple of seconds. They could've just staked everyone, because every single vampire would've survived it. The hunter wouldn't, cuz he'd be human.
But then devoshka reminded me that she'd put staking as one of the ways to kill a vampire in this game, so....

And yeah, dev - You did a GREAT job at running this, as did SwiftSign.
I know it's been difficult for you to get and and such, but you've still come through, which proves you're one dedicated game host. Thank you.

And yeah, a big thanks to everyone for participating.
And for being such good sports. :D

Skylark, you are more than free to use Esther in the freeform as this will not be related Also you don't have to have a sim to participate in the freeform, it's just a bit easier as you can create them to how you want them to look, but there are other platforms out there that allow you to do that as well..heck you can even use a picture of a vampire from that actual game VtM :P
