But then you run the risk of getting hit by a car, having something (or someone) falling out of the plane and landing on you or tripping on a crack in the sidewalk/road and spraining your ankle. It's much safer to just make like Samantha and twitch your nose. (Just don't twitch too hard lest you sprain your nose.)

I don't know, car to be honest because I don't like heights and I don't think I would like planes, it just seems so scary. People always tell me you have a bigger chance of dying in a car crash but it never eases me, I mean it's what 1 in a million for a plane to crash, but there are thousands of planes flying everyday so it makes me nervous, never flew before though. So car, with someone else as the driver though.

And I can take whatever I want into my car. Toothpaste, Phone, basically anything that the airport probably wouldn't let you carry (And that isn't even dangerous or makes sense, Toothpaste! Really? I have heard they count).

Car. At least you don't have to be groped before getting into your car.

From here too! Though I would also require a valid passport...

However, the next COUNTY isn't a problem - the next one is only two miles up the road (less as the crow flies) so within walking distance!
Any further than that requires transport. I don't drive, so car is out unless I can cadge a lift, so it's buses and trains. The choice mainly depends on where I'm going... and for comfort, especially on longer distances, it has to be the train.

I'd need to be going over 300 miles for flying to become a valid mode of transport in my view, and as most destinations I'd want are closer than that, planes are OUT!

No need to use my full name, "Selly" will do just fine.

Car, especially if there is no hurry and we're in the deep south. My parents took my brother and I to the deep south five times every year by car. I love taking my time traveling, stopping at tourist destinations, taking pictures, the endless scenery. When I was little, my brother and I had a blast because my dad would put down all the seats down so that there was this flat, open space for us to roll around in, minor wrestle, play board games and sleep. We never had to wear seat belts or sit in the seats unless we were near the boarder where you have random border checks. Sometimes when we were on the open road in deep country, my dad would let us drive a bit. Every single time we traveled nearby, we would demand our parents stop at this little Native American village in Arizona, this cute little shop that sold boxes that smelled very heavily of oak in Kentucky. No matter what, they always had something different there. The only bad part was the heat, but we always had air conditioning in the car.

Planes are awful. I've used them hundreds of times. It's hot, sweaty and a pain in the ass to wait in the airport. You have to check in luggage, have that irrational fear that the airport security will find you a terrorist even though you're just a little girl, and the gift shops have the same, dull books and the same stupid magazines and cliche tourist stuff. Then I would watch my mom argue with the lady at security because every single time we go, the rules seem to change and we can bring less and less items. After security my parents would complain about how they used to be able to smoke in there, my dad could bring his guns with him in his check in bag with little problem, my teddy bear now had to go through the scanner because people were now hiding weapons in there, my mom and I couldn't carry our nail files and clippers anymore, and just so many omfg why rules that keep changing and we throw out so much crap. Then your flight may get delayed, and there is nothing you can do.

Car. Road trips are fun. :3
I like making stops every so often to check things out, even if it's just the same rest stop I've been to every time I've made the trip. Or just spending the entire drive sleeping/reading/listening to music. I've only been on a plane once, when I was a baby, but I don't think I'd enjoy it since I'm terrified of heights.
Plus you can make your own rules instead of following the ridiculous airport security ones.

I have only been on a plane ride twice and that was a couple years ago when I went to Disney World in Florida, that was on the way to Florida and on the way back home, You get pop, snacks and pretzels on planes, whereas in cars you don't but then again, all ya gotta do is stop at a gas station if your in your car and WA-la any snack you want or beverage, you can see many things in the car when driving that you can't on planes such as McDonald's and Burger King and other fast food place's, and highways roads, grass, and many sights, LOL JK! but if you are on a plane though and you fly over the clouds and ocean it looks really neat it's so strange it's not exactly how they portray the sky in the media or movies it looks much different well not too much different...at least in my opinion, I believe it looks better it's definitely something cool to see.

Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way

I think that answers your question.

Plane, you are trusting a pilot who likely quick-belted a few shots of Grey Goose with the flight attendants. Not to mention this air traffic controller catching a quickie at the tower. Your car, it's mostly in your hands and the flow of traffic.

I prefer a car. It's cheaper and it isn't as boring as a dumb old plane...that is, if you don't take the interstate in the middle of nowhere.

Well, when the closest major city is over 1000km's away (thats over 600miles) and you need to get there quick, then definitely plane (by plane is about 1-2hours). Otherwise I love taking the 18ish hour scenic drive to get to Brisbane, as road trips are usually awesome for me. I'd worry about things like hitting wildlife or polluting the environment, but it seems others have already covered those issues. Money usually isn't an issue, camping on a road stop for 12hours is permitted along the highway (yay free camp sites!) and food doesn't cost much if you have some common sense about it, plus while fuel isn't cheap the people I go with will pay for that seeing as they can't drive just yet. Normally I use short road trips (it takes ~1-2 hours to get to the next small town in any direction from Townsville) as a way to have some fun... seen as there isn't much else to do around here for my demographic - although the local council will swear black and blue to the contrary.

Car for the scenery, plane to get there quick, train if neither is an option.

Best car trip I ever took was driving from Upstate NY to New Mexico. Took 3 days-ish, saw a million and one things that were awesome (like Niagara Falls and the St. Louis Arch and Roswell) and a million and 2 that were not. New Mexico is breathtaking - the scenery is incredible. If it weren't for the heat, I think I could live there.

Best flight was JFK to Orlando.

Best train trip was Albany NY to Chicago. Union Station is amazing.

I used to fantasize that we lived in a world that still traveled by horseback. Wouldn't that be cool? Traveling by canoe or sailboat is pretty sweet too.

Car.

I know I answered plane in my previous post, but I just realized that if you drive your own car instead of taking a public transport like plane, you don't have to worry about stuffs falling out of your pockets and being lost and gone forever...

Agreed! I have a bad habit of misplacing important items, so it all tends to end up in my car (which I tend to live out of anyway).
