"Besides animating Sims, the plugins will animate objects. From simple things like a yard windmill with a turning blade, a clock with a moving second hand, cabinets that open and close, drawers that open and close, all sorts of simple animations can be made that we have never had because the animations are missing from the game package. "

My question is- Has anyone ever tried to do this?? I could never find mods like these at all. I want to animate a window that opens and closes but I need help with it!

Check out Atavera's animated windows hack . JasanaBugBreeder and Honeywell also have some animated objects here on MTS.

Yep, many people have tried and succeeded. There are even step-by-step tutorials:
Creating object animations:

Making non-animated objects animatable:

Custom animating a brand new object is definitely not a beginner mod, but it's absolutely achievable!

Thank you!! Do we actually see the Sims opening and closing the window like cmomoney has made for Sims 3? That's what I need! Well, I can create that animation myself if it isn't included. :D
