I hope that there's still a customization breed thing like in the sims 2

I'm sure that they will make a blank breed and more breeds before the release date. Breeds are probably the easiest things to make. They're basically pre-made Sims, after all.

Unicorns?!

DAMN IT!!!

You know, I totally saw the unicorn picture and plushie in Generations, and I was like, "I really hope those are not easter eggs for the upcoming creature because that would be totally lame!"

And then it seemed like everyone on the official forum was "LIEK OMG I want Unicorns!" and I hoped for something cooler, but nope.

We have frakkin' unicorns. Good for EA for going with something different, but still. Unicorns. Give me werewolves, witches, Plantsims, you name it, but unicorns just conjure images of terrible fantasy art for me. Oh God the Exchange is gonna get a lot more cheesy.

My only hope at this point is that this is preparing for the magical expansion pack. And now it's gonna have to be the best magic expansion pack *ever* because if these creatures keep being crappy like this (Imaginary friends and now this?!) I'm switching back to Sims 2. Actually scratch that, I'll switch to Sims 1! Makin' Magic was awesome!

Make a were-unicorn with fire breathing capabilities. I am sure the modders will figure something out to make them badass.

Unicorns? Seriously?

I mean Unicorns are interesting and all, but seriously... Unicorns in the Sims 3? Just seems a little odd to me.

What would ever possess them to add unicorns? Are they really the new creature? I thought they had to either be a sim turned (Vamps, Mummies, etc), or turn into a sim (Imaginary friends)? Will sims be able to become unicorns? Or are they just another animal? Weird...

Well...Unicorns are a little bit better than Plantsims. You should at least be able to ride them and apparently set things on fire, as well use their blessing powers. What can Plantsims do? Use their fertilizer power? Bore the local plants to death about their everyday lives? No thank you lol

Plus I can see EA doing something ridiculous like giving plants cellphones so they can keep in contact with Plantsims better. "Outstanding Tomato Plant wants to know if Rose Greenman is available to talk. Yes or No?"

They weren't all like that in TS2. Bigfoot and the Genie were both NPC life states. You could add Bigfoot to your house, but you couldn't become one.

Some stuff I saw.
- "Unicorn beard and horn" why are our unicorns bearded???
- I saw stuff about singing like "sing chorus" and "end song" so maybe we're getting the microphone? And of course there's "write song" also
- "Unicorns won't allow themselves to be used as stallions" does this mean no breeding?
- "Be impregnated" that just made me laugh...
- You can give pets gourmet food
- Unicorns can teleport!
- Unicorns can bless or curse and ignite fires
- Pets can have midlife crisis (I doubt that's true)
- Do we have RnB music cause I saw something about that
- There is a new career dealing with horse care
- Popsicles of different kinds
- Clam chowder, Veggie Taco, Olive Platter are they new? might of been with LN

Random thought - I want to make a zebra so they better include stripes.....

I bet it is a lifetime reward for pets. Sims have it and it allows them to change their traits.

Although I wouldn't say that the unicorn is ridiculous. In fact, I'm excited to have it around, I do agree that I wouldn't call it a life state. I'm not sure if they will include something else like a werewolf, but it would be nice. If they don't include it though, I'll just install my Sims 2 game and hope that my computer doesn't blow up from having all three generations of Sims games on it (and my CC addiction for all three games).

I would like to know a little more information on the unicorn on whether or not you can play as it, or if your Sim/Horse can become a unicorn. (I love playing the life states )
I'm a little worried that it will be more like an NPC like the witch doctor in Sims 2 Bon Voyage. If it is playable, I wonder if we will get baby unicorns as well.

I am wondering if they are going to include a magic expansion pack eventually since it seems like they added the magic elements to the pets expansion pack and have the spell book at the Sims 3 store.

Hopefully we will hear more about the unicorn since it's now been introduced.

EDIT:

BlackGuardian stated some other things found in the file as well.

Interesting, so by the sounds of it even the smaller animals like birds and reptiles may have more interactions then they did in Sims 2, and perhaps be treated as a pet and not an object (Seriously, who throws a dead Cockatoo into the garbage bin >.> I have had Cockatiels over the years and well the ones who weren't eaten by snakes when they passed away we buried them in the backyard, we did not throw them in the bin).

Anyways it all sounds exciting, the Unicorn.. I dunno really, I mean it just seems a bit odd. Well if they allow birds to actually be somewhat playable or have more interactions I would love it. maybe even a tame bird can go flying around the town and come back.

Oh I wonder, if they will add Missing pets including birds and such? Believe it or not people actually do put missing posters of their birds who flew away EA, oh wait then again they weren't the original creator of Sims 2 Pets were they? (Wasn't Maxis in charge then?).

My biggest worry though, are the bugs. And game breaking bugs like with WA and Missing Sims and broke UI's. I wonder how much would be in this exp. I want to wait for the patch and see what you guys find, but at the same time I want the game soon as it comes out.

I would love to have this feature if we get wondering or runaway pets. What would be interesting to have is that maybe inactive Sims can put out posters and your Sim can try to find the pet for a small reward or something.

Pet Traits

* likes swimming: Contrary to popular belief, not all breeds of dogs like to swim. However, when given this trait, dogs just can’t get enough satisfaction from taking a dip! Dogs that Like Swimming will try to swim as much as they can.
* lazy: Lazy pets just love to lie down or stay in one place as they get tired easily.
* aggressive: Aggressive pets aren’t inherently mean, they usually just have a bad attitude when interacting with other pets. A bad attitude that usually leads to fights that is. Aggressive pets will generally act aggressively towards other pets by fighting and using other mean interactions.
* Agile: Agile horses are nimble, strong, and love to jump. They make awesome Show Jumping competitors but get bored if they don’t stay active.
* Brave: Brave horses have an extra helping of courage to help them deal with the chaos of sprinklers, fireworks, burglar alarms, and other terror-inducing everyday objects.
* Destructive: Whether destroying furniture or digging holes in the yard Destructive Pets are sure to cause chaos wherever they are!
* Fast: Fast horses are the speed demons of the animal kingdom. They love to gallop and have a natural talent for racing, but they need plently of exercise to stay satisfied.
* Gentle: Gentle horses are the calmest of the herd. They will never kick a Sim and are often easier to get along with.
* Hydrophobic: Hydrophobic dogs have a natural aversion for anything that relates to water. When in the water, they are definitely not happy. Dogs with the Hydrophobic trait detest swimming in swimming pools.
* hyper: Hyper Pets are always ready for action and today is no exception. Get out your pet’s favorite toy because Your Pet wants to Play on the Carpet.
* Loyal: “A dog is a Sim’s best friend” is a saying that certainly holds true! Loyal dogs love spending time and interacting with their Sims, and even seem to learn skills faster than other dogs. Loyal Dogs have better relationships with Sims in their family.
* Nervous: Nervous horses see danger everywhere and can be startled by the most insignificant things. They tend to get along well with Neurotic Sims, who have the same problem.
* Noisy: Noisy Pets are very vocal and provide a special accompaniment when Sims are playing instruments.
* Piggy: Piggy Pets are voracious eaters who don’t mind munching garbage or drinking from the toilet.
* Playful: Playful Pets always want to have fun and have a happy-go-lucky attitude.
* Proud: Proud pets think they’re better than others and make their own image a top priority; they can’t stand having low hygiene. Proud pets tend to think they’re a bit better than any of the other pets around
* skittish: Skittish Pets have a nervous disposition and are easily startled.
* adventurous:[b] Adventurous Pets are very curious and love to explore.
* [b]Clueless:
Clueless pets tend to forget what they’re doing and are easily distracted. They don’t learn skills and traits too quickly, but they do get along well with Absent-Minded Sims. Clueless pets tend to forget what they are doing and are a little ditsy.
* Friendly: Pets with the Friendly trait not only get along better with other pets, but they’ll usually have better relationships with their Sims as well. Friendly pets have a special knack for quickly befriending Sims and other Pets.
* Genius: Genius pets are always thinking on their paws (or hooves). They learn skills and new traits quickly and get along well with other Genius pets and Sims.
* Hunter: Pets with the Hunter trait are excellent at stalking and catching prey.
* Independent: Independent pets not only prefer to be on their own, but have more fun when playing on their own rather than in big groups or other social situations. Independent pets prefer to be on their own rather than socializing or playing with other pets and Sims.
* Neat: Neat Pets are naturally clean and love to be bathed.
* Non-destructive: Non-Destructive Pets are very gentle, and never destroy furniture or dig holes in the yard.
* mean
* quiet: Quiet Pets do not make much noise.
* Shy: Pets with the Shy trait prefer and are the happiest when around their Sim. Being around other pets and Sims make them a bit nervous. Shy pets prefer spending time with their favorite Sim rather than other pets.
* hyper: Hyper pets are super active and never like staying in one place. They are able to build energy much more quickly and have a slower energy decay.
* hates jumping: Some horses prefer to keep their hooves on the ground. When a horse hates jumping, it will refuse to jump more often and do worse at Show Jumping and Cross-Country competitions. It may even take its anger out on your shiny new jump training obstacles!
* Ornery: Ornery horses are stubborn and don’t deal well with Sims. They don’t like to be approached or touched by strange Sims, and may even kick Sims they don’t like. As odious as these attributes might be, they do give Ornery horses an odd affinity for Evil and Mean-Spirited Sims.

* Feeling the need to dig your claws into something, everything, or anything? Then this is the thing for you! Even though this Scratching Post isn’t as fun as say scratching your Sim’s favorite piece of furniture or their overly priced and paid for leopard-print area rug, you’re content on scratching this post till your claws fall off! Your Cat wants to Scratch the Scratching Post.

* Deep down all cats know that shredding the upholstery is wrong, but it is impossible to resist this primal urge! Your cat wants to Scratch the furniture.

* Playing with toys is second nature when it comes to being a cat and the cat dancer toy will end up giving your feline friend hours of enjoyment, not to mention a headache after all the bobbing and weaving they’ll have to do! Your Cat wants to Play with the Cat Dancer Toy.

* Whether they’re scouting out a new place to sleep or sizing up the distance from the top of the Cat Condo to the floor – Cats will Survey the environment around them to make sure things look a-okay. Have your Cat Survey the Cat Condo.

* Cats looooove to scratch. They’ll scratch on anything and everything. From your imported leather couch to your dangling right arm while sitting at the dinner table. That’s why items like the Cat Condo were invented so you could be spared the pain of having to re-upholster your couch and arm… Have your Cat Scratch on the Cat Condo

they can still have the unicorns become human. In the Last Unicorn cartoon from the 80's, it was about a unicorn who was turned into a human girl. Maybe... I would love that.

I'm really excited for the wild animals. I think it will bring life to the neighborhoods on a level we've never had.

Wild horses, though? It would be funny to see one of them running through the middle of Bridgeport. lol

♫ Keeping this here until EA gives us a proper playable woodwind/brass instrument ♫
For now, though, my decorative Bassoon conversion for TS4. =)
