Default Getting VS C# 2017 to coexist with VS C# 2010
This has been a problem.
I installed VS C# 2017 to learn Unity3d.
Doing that messed up VS C#2010, which I used to make Sims 3 mods.
Try to get VS C# 2017 to make sims 3 mods. Nope, can't get standard.dll to reference the Sims 3 standard.dll. Same with mscore.dll.
Think about uninstalling 2017 and reinstalling 2010... nope; I lost the 2010 install file.
I know! I'll use Monodevelop... well, that sucked.
I know! I'll use a Oracle VM box... Sacrificed a brand new Windows 7 disk key... did I mention I don't have the 2010 install file? Dang it Emmett!

Sims are better than us.
