Can anyone comfirm this actually works for weddings on real Generic lots?
Just a few "Generic" lots appear on the list, but they are not true generic lots at all, they are residential houses.

What bug would that be? I couldn't make my Butler do much at all last time I played. He was just some NPC walking around cleaning up and repairing stuff. I couldn't make him cook though, if that's what you were thinking of.

It's the bug where you get the exact same butler in all the households that hires a butler. It's really annoying.

I don't get the exact same butler, but every time the household loads, a different butler (of about four potential butlers) shows up. That means that it takes longer to get to know any one butler (so I end up cheating the relationship). Even though the butler is constantly different, the only good thing is that he still does a lot of the work he's required to do.
I do believe it was supposed to be fixed, but I find with most patches, that not all of the issues fixed are actually fixed. My festivals were STILL overlapping last time I checked. :/

@spidergirl79 After I spoke with simgurunick on twitter I tested it without my mods folder and a new save and the issue is gone. I have no idea what mod could do this, could it be MCCC? I don't think I have any other mods that deal with npc's
Update: nevermind, false alarm, it seems a freakin butler mod had snuck into my mod folder! *facepalm*

I don't have any butler mods.
Sometimes I don't notice patch fixes take effect until several patches later. For example, several patches later, relationship bits were finally less cluttered and I actually thought it was a glitch. Nope, just a fix finally working. I don't get it.

Well, that's weird. Have to tested without mods? The way I tested was that I took out my mods folder, and started a new save, and then hired a butler for a household and then another, you could test it similarly. Just to rule out that it's a mod.

I never knew the one game-generated butler for all households policy is actually a bug.
At least it makes the game much cleaner than than it was before, which generated a new butler everytime I when to play the household, and sometimes I found myself with two butlers in my house.(Although only 1 actually does the butler jobs, the other is just like any other visitor.)

They fixed this 'feature', it turns out I had a faulty mod in my mod folder.

I can never tell the difference between a faulty mod, or a game bug, there are so many interesting mods around, but afraid to have anymore than three in at a time, MCCC is a must and it's take one of my slots, everyone I come across a serious bug in the game, a mod is my first suspect.

Here's a bug they haven't fixed. I put down a gate and suddenly the fence is gone. After it's gone it can't be replaced with any other fence.

My festivals are never getting packed up lately and now the Geek Con has overlapped with the Romance one, and on the other end of city, now my Spice/Flea have overlapped, yet I swear I heard those bugs were supposely fixed a long time ago.
EA have finally ruined my dance parties, now it's attacking my festivals, it's hardly worth leaving the house anymore.

Is there a problem with autonomy in this game? I'm told that if you tell sims to do certain things, like for example sit in a hot tub, it sometimes gets cancelled as if it were an autonomous action. Kind of like how at launch if you tried to make a sim read a book, they would keep putting it back before finishing (don't know if this still exists). Anyway, anyone else noticed this?

You can't really call yourself "God"', only to be ignored half of the time, but this is the design, there's is a timeout period, but yeah it should be extended a bit longer, TS4 can be worse at this.
As for a book they should read the entire book, unless one of there needs is urgent or they are due to go somewhere.
What bothers me right now, is my social events, a guest automously starts then stop a painting on my easel without finishing it, since I do not "Own" the painting, there is no interactions to scrap it/sell it or anything, etc. So your easel is completely useless and gives you only 3 stupid choices.
1. Sell it and buy another one
2. Invite who you think started it (Since the game does not give any information on a half finished painting), and hope mercialisily that sim will automously go and finish it.
3. Use debug cheats and Reset object to make the painting vanish.
Also I've noticed sims greet each other with kisses sometimes, I suspected if was coming from the outdated Get To School Mod where student would kiss the counselor, so got rid of it, yet the kisses persists. lol... Feature or conflict?
As for a book they should read the entire book, unless one of there needs is urgent or they are due to go somewhere.

Seems parties (have x sims do x at the same time) and yardsale isn't working. Kinda ruins my playstyle.

The kisses I belive is a feature as the big patch said something about new greetings between sims.

I'm pretty sure it's an old feature that never worked properly, so they 'patched it in'.

There's another greeting also, since the patch, two males sims may introduce each other and sometimes shake hands, kind of creeps me out, because that's way too realistic, but at least they are not kissing, and at least the older greetings of waving between walls/closed doors seem like they are finally gone/fixed.

Yes, it sucks with rotational play though because I customize my butlers a lot and then I have my ghost butler working at the Manor show up at every other house.
i guess he's just really devoted...

EA will only fix things based on high demand, if only a few people request the butler fixed, then unfortunately you might be waiting much longer than April, my City Living living Statues no longer wear their facepaint since April, but since it such small request i won't hold my breath, yet the Bartender without a bar for dance parties has been bugged for over a year now.
My sim's always get the tense Lovelord moodlet stating Romantic sims need to show love and have it shown to them, werid considering they don't even have the Romantic trait.
Guess you can always remove the moodlet yourself with the debug cheats so it's probably why EA show zero interest in fixing that little issue either.

Lots of my sims (of maybe of them), get the option to Brag about being a Curry champion to another sim, even without the Spice Hound trait, I sometimes get Admire New Procession with sims without the Materialistic Trait, and once or twice I had to Bro options come up. I know you don't have to click on them, but they should not be on the menu, traits are supposed to be unique and sims that have earned them with their hard work, hopefully it's a mod conflict and not the game, if it is and this does get any worse the trait system is soon going to become completely useless.

I had the Admire New Possession come up when I was still doing vanilla testing after first installing Cats and Dogs. I haven't had the Bro or Curry Champion things pop up wrongly yet. I haven't been playing lately though, because though I haven't run into a lot of bugs, but the ones I have seen finally became so frustrating that I'm done for now till they release another patch.
The dealbreaker for me was going to play the Delgato family and the toddler has the Alluring trait! That's already been reported thankfully, because I was so freaked out and wondering what was wrong with my game when I saw that! Sometimes I wonder if someone at Maxis likes trolling and causes some of these really asinine bugs on purpose.

Looks like (at least so far) the Admire New Procession option has been fixed with today's patch.
I'm pleased about that, now I can play my REAL Materialistic sims again.
