im having a problem with my sims 3 game. it's been running really choppy.

how do i fix it? i turned down the graphic settings but its still acting up. im also using a windows 10 msi gaming laptop so sims 3 should be able to run fine on it.
does anyone know how i can fix this?

also, one person mentioned i should install a nraas mod, what nraas mod do i need?

You probably need Overwatch http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Overwatch and Error Trap http://nraas.wikispaces.com/ErrorTrap since they work together to clean up problems in a save. (Although there are some mods which conflict with them.)

I agree that a gaming laptop should be able to run the Sims 3 perfectly well, but as my grandfather once quoted, "oughtta be ain't is." You should probably post the first few lines of your DeviceConfig (up until it gets to Options. We don't need anything after that.).

Something else that can cause problems is if you have accidentally gotten a Sims 2 or Sims 4 package in there. Delphy's Dashboard http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=387006 can find Sims 2 files and tell you what they are, but if there is a Sims 4 file it just tells you that it had a problem with a package. ("Bad Compression Flags at Mad Science" is how it's quoted in the comments.) If you pay attention it does tell you which package it was scanning when it had a problem, so you can jot down the name of the package and remove it.

The NRAAS mods, yes. Dashboard is Stand-alone. Install it into its own folder somewhere.

Yeah, and like I said, turning down your graphics will do nothing to improve performance.

well, i think i figured out whats causing the problem it goes slow and laggy when i try to play as the vice city neighboorhood
is there a way i could get it to work fine without it being slow and choppy?
i tried installing the mods but they didnt really work it still freezes up and lags

In addition to the above, this may (or may not) be part of the current issue, I would suspect the world being played in just being too complex for the game first. But it could be trouble brewing for the near future. Is your game installed on C or D? Your C drive is a bit tight on free space if that's where you are running it from.

After seeing the video that OP posted on youtube, that's indeed the case that the world being played is too complex as Igazor mentioned above, that's what I experienced in the past with all EA's worlds, and that's exactly the lags that annoyed me the most.

As anyone can see in the video, the sim is living alone, and his house is not too complex from what we can see in the video, but as the sim went out to the street, we can see there are so many houses near by, and if those houses near by or even far away.. are too many in total of the world population, and there are many possibilities on how many sims living in those houses in total, and most of the sims are playable (not NPC sims) and most of the houses are not "decoration only" houses, then the CPU will some how reach its limit in processing all of them together and at the same time, this is when TS3 is actually creating bottlenecks in the processor to process. It creates so many little delays, but because all happening at the same time, it resulting like the game being paused.

This is actually when mods like AwessomeMod and NRASS MC help to the gameplay with better management so it would run smoother, but the total of possibilities that the complexity created by how the world being played was setup in CAW or Edit Town mode, was just too much for the processor to handle even with the help of AwessomeMod and NRASS MC, so there is only one way to compromise the situation so it won't creates bottlenecks in the processor, which is simplifying the world as I also mentioned here, this how I ended up spending too much time in CAW rather than playing the game myself in TS3, and just let my daughter play them and see the differences as the results.

sorry it took me a while to reply to this. i got sidetracked earlier.

The game is on my D drive, not C drive. and also, i tried installing the mods you guys remmonded but they didnt help.
i believe whats causing the problem is all the buildings in the world, and its too much for my computer to handle (which im really surprised because my gaming computer is supposed to be high-end)

Is there any cheat or mod i can use to delete all the lots in the world at once?
