Maybe i'm just unlucky, but placing in a playgrounds from the gallery, the kids autonomously happily use the Base Game play equipment but not the Seasons, kind-of disappointed in those objects for seasons, even if I direct a sim to skate, they only go round a couple of times and leave and they rather do something else, as for the rink, no socialising/muititasking when in use, no trick skate options, all I can say TS2 has much much better skating than TS4 had.

You need to click on your sim to get the cloudgaze option, instead of on the ground..

I've seen them use rinks (the world ones but not in parks) and swings (on residential and parks. In fact I can never get my controlled sims on the swings because it's always busy!)
TS3 aliens? Finally! Now give us OFB and proper apartments, damnit! - EA, you are breaking my heart. - I give up.

Don't forget that there is a hidden skating skill this time. Some things might not be available yet if your Sim hasn't levelled up.

I did that. I don't have a Cloudgaze option. Not even under Actions; I only have Form Group under there...
Is it because I have Seasons? I do have Play in Rain when it's rainy; do I have to wait until I get a cloudy weather symbol? XD

No, you can cloudgaze when it's raining as well, so that's not the issue
but is your sim at San Mysuno? I know I didn't have the cloudgazing option when my sims were there
but every where else they can cloudgaze without any issue (by clicking on the sim itself > cloudgaze, sometimes it can hide behind the More options menu)
they even cloudgaze on their own sometimes, on park lots and at Granite falls.

I think you need Outdoor Retreat in order to be able to cloudgaze / stargaze with your sims..

But I was able to do it a few years ago; I think even before OT was made.
Okay, ignoring that weirdness (since I have other ways to get Inspired on my sims), I have two questions. ...though I can't remember one anymore.
How do Careers work?
My Sim is employed in the Business career and has a schedule of 9 AM to 5 PM. Sometime after 8 AM, I get the message of "[Name] has work in an hour". And then it could take up to some time AFTER 9 AM or even 10 AM, before the Sim gets the "Go to Work" task. And getting home is worse! 5 PM rolls around... and rolls... and it gets to 6 PM, and the Sim still isn't returning. I even pause the game for a while (in case the game needs to 'catch up' with itself; I notice this sometimes) and they don't come home.
It's gotten up to 7 PM and the Sim will finally come home. The career tab says "works until 5 PM". The "At Work" task doesn't seem to be done by 5, though. And this happens even when I don't have the Sim work hard, but normally. What? This doesn't make sense to me. In Sims 3, it made sense for them to take a bit to get home because it was an open world, and you could follow their travel to and from work. But here? This is Sims 2-style; you don't get to do that. Have them return a few minutes after their shift ends, EA. No having your cake and eating it.

Sounds like something is off with your game..
I don't have working sims right now, but I do have kids that go to school and they are going and coming back just on time..
do you have your game fully updated? try a game repair or clearing your cache files
do you use maybe outdated mods / outdated cc careers / mods who can tweak the timeline in the game? try taking those out, clearing cache and test it out.
that's all I can think of..

I have the game patched to the latest.
Any mod I have is the latest version or was something that only recently came out. (Like the Weather tuning mod)
I have some custom traits...
Speaking of those, I know that Sims CAN learn them through Get to Know or Discuss Interests (because my Sim managed to learn another one had the custom Sustainable Living trait from MTS), but my couple sim have one custom trait each, and they can't seem to learn it. (Feminine and Woohoo Lover, respectively) ...is this something you have to tick in the trait creator program?

A super simple question in which the answer is probably "no", but: Can Sims cook with only a stove? No grill, no refrigerator, just a stove?

That's what I figured. I'm replacing the house in the Granite Falls Forest lot with a lookout tower (because I just watched a playthrough of Firewatch, haha) and he had a stove in his lookout, and I was just curious if Sims could do without a fridge. I had the feeling the answer was no but, you know. No harm in asking.

They can cook with just a grill tho, if it helps..

I was just gonna make the lookout tower, but maybe I'll add a little campsite on the far end of the lot. In the tower itself it has a cooler, so there is food there~ Stove will just be for decoration, I suppose haha

Wasn't that game boring?
What's with these Achievements? And do you have to do them for EVERY save? I swear, I've got "Played The Sims 4 for 5 Hours" unlocked at least 3 times over the course of saves. I see they give points; what are they for?
And especially that furniture you unlock by getting certain ranks in Careers. Save-bound or 'Account'-bound? I really don't think I want to have to re-unlock a bed by becoming an Artist all the time...
Oh, and are there other ways to increase chance of twins, other than the fertility reward? Like, listening to Children's music, like in Sims 3. (I know Pop seems to lean more towards daughters)
PS: I took off the Kijiko 3D-Eyelashes off my Sim (I really don't notice them on her person or portrait a lot) and went into laptop mode again. That did seem to fix some of the major 'lag' I had between going-to-work and coming-home-from-work.

As far as I know the achievements were MEANT to be at a player level, so once they were achieved that was it but they seem to relate to each different save file instead.
The unlocked furniture, as far as I know, is per household. You can always use the cheat bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement to make them available for any family though. They are also not locked if you build on an unowned Lot. Personally I like to have them available to purchase in Sim owned stores. It gives the stores a purpose.

To be a little off topic, I actually love Firewatch! I think it's a very interesting concept and story~ Even if there isn't much in "gameplay", I'm more of a Story > Game Mechanics person anyway haha.
AS FOR A QUESTION. Hmm. Oh, I have something.
1) Is it possible for teens that aren't in played households to start dating each other? Actually, apply that to any of-age Sim. I know with MCCC you can set it so they can autonomously get married, but what about just dating?
2) Can non-played Sims start their own clubs?

Thing is, the plot of Firewatch wasn't that interesting to begin with. It felt very unsatisfying to finish the game, since even the plot didn't decide to properly play itself out.
2) Can non-played Sims start their own clubs?
From what I've seen of other people's Sims 4 plays, since I don't have Get Together, is that NPC-Sims CAN start their own clubs. I have seen some non-friend of the person's Sim family call one of them and invite them to join their club.
Does the game continue to create Sim households and fill in empty houses, although I unticked the "Fill Empty Homes" in the Gameplay options?
And why is it doing that? I am playing with aging off for everyone. (And why is there no option for autonomy for Sims between "Full autonomy, go do stupid things while I'm planning something" and "No, don't do anything, ever, and die before I get to you"?

Maybe that's just where we differ. I'm definitely in the camp that feels like the story is just about people in isolation and that it didn't need a proper conclusion to what was brought up. Cause not everything is gonna end in the way it should in life, and the game was going for a hyper-realistic feel. But I do understand where you / others come from when you say it's unsatisfying in the end.

I know that the premade clubs can call to invite, but in my particular case I deleted all the Sims and created a bunch of families in their place. So all the premade clubs don't exist anymore in that file.

Yes, the game continues to make Homeless Sims to fill roles (Pizza Delivery, Repair, Maids, Nannies, etc) but those Sims won't actually move into a lot. There's a mod on here that should have it so the game uses existing Sims instead of creating new ones, but honestly I haven't seen a difference. If it bothers you I thiiink that there's a code you can put to give a Sim that trait (what the game looks for is the IsMaid, IsNanny, etc or something of that effect trait)
Maid: traits.equip_trait isMaid, careers.add_career maid
Nanny: traits.equip_trait isNanny, careers.add_career Nanny
Pizza Delivery: traits.equip_trait isPizzaDelivery, careers.add_career PizzaDelivery
Gardener: traits.equip_trait isGardener_Service, careers.add_career Gardener_Service
Restaurant Critic (Dine Out): traits.equip_trait isRestaurantCritic, careers.add_career RestaurantCritic
DJ (Get Together): traits.equip_trait isDJ, careers.add_career DJ
Forest Ranger (Outdoor Retreat): traits.equip_trait isForestRanger, careers.add_career Ranger
Repair Service: traits.equip_trait isRepair, careers.add_career Repair
Weirdo (City Living): traits.equip_trait isWeirdo
Living Statue (City Living): traits.equip_trait isStatueBusker
City Repair (City Living): traits.equip_trait isCityRepair
Romance Guru (City Living): traits.equip_trait LoveGuru
Some also need certain skills for some.
Also for the autonomy thing, there is an option to turn autonomy off for the selected Sim. So everyone else does their own thing but whoever you're currently playing as stays put until you tell them to do something.

Why can my Sims not learn Custom Traits through interactions like Get To Know or Discuss Interests?
It works on some custom traits (Sustainable Living, for example), but others (like Feminine, Woohoo Lover, or my own Sweet trait) cannot be learned. Despite my couple sims having maxed out friendship and romantic bars, they still roll "Get to know [Sim Name]" whims, and are still listed with an Unknown Trait in the relationship section.
Is there a setting you need to use in Mod Constructor for that? Or is it just... really random if a Sim learns a trait?

You don't always have to ask Get to Know to know their traits, sometimes they find out on their own, like a Mean sim starts yelling at them, then a notifcation comes up that you learn he/she is a mean sim. But you can also and very cheapy buy the Observation reward trait, then you know everyone traits just by meeting them, or if your Alien, you can analyse their personality.

I don't want to waste points on this; I just want to know if custom traits are inherently difficult to learn.
