Solemn sensed, raven haired, and marble brown eyes
A breath full of scotch mint and a smile to kill
with something a little dangerous inside.
I wanted you to fall in love with me.
I wanted you to breathe me in
like a breath of fresh air,
but I realized that was cliche
and so I picked lavenders
I wanted you to discover me
like the first time I discovered
Lord Byron, John Keats and Walter de la Mare.
Picasso, Andy Warhol and Voltaire.
I wanted you to kiss me like
honeysuckles in Mid-May,
or vanilla ice cream
on a hot July day.
And discover that I could actually
knock your breath away,
and that I was something more
than a Pisces who speaks in riddles.
