This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Cannot Assign Memory
Good morning/ afternoon,
I very closely followed DiLight's tutorial on creating memories, however SimPE would not allow me to assign a new object GUID. Therefore, I used one that I previously had in a game a while ago, that I had since deleted and reinstalled (From the SimPE website) I followed all of the other steps, yet whenever I attempt to assign the memory, nothing happens?
Thanks.

Are you saying you already have something in your game with that GUID?

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.

Thanks for responding maxon! And no, I do not already have anything in my game with that GUID, since I reinstalled. I have no idea why the memory isn't working!

You can still get/register guids at the SimPE site (in German) there you just can't do it through SimPE on your computer itself any more, just directly at the website. I would suggest getting a copy of all of your assigned ones, and start keeping a count of where you are in your block and recording it yourself, as a precaution

Thanks for responding gdayars! For some reason, the website wouldn't allow me to obtain a new GUID, due to a need for a valid object name (?) or something of the sort, that said, could there be another issue outside of the GUID? The object appears in the game, and the selection is there, however when I click it, nothing happens... I was rather sure to follow all of the instructions...? Any ideas?

I apologize for double posting but, whenever I attempt to obtain a GUID for an object, the website says, specifically: Invalid query: Column 'name' cannot be null

That's a red herring anyway. It doesn't require being registered at SimPE for the GUID to work as it should. The fact is, you can use any GUID number as long as it's in the right format and the game uses it just the same. The database was just a method to ensure that we all used different GUIDS. It's a fan thing - has nothing to do with the game operating (or SimPE operating for that matter).

try this instead (for some reason the German version allows more options. If it doesn't work for you after that, I am not sure what to do :/ ) As far as memories, I will direct Gummi here next time I talk to her as she has made several.

Thank you, gdayars!
Edit: And thanks maxon!
I am still trying to fiddle around with it...
So what else might be the problem, is it the actual object, or perhaps a conflict?

Ask from me if they updated the guid in add memory bhav on the memory object

Could you have forgotten to add bhav in add memory bhav

or assign action bhav in pie menu functions?

She also said: Can also offer them to send object and memory to me and I'll check on monday, if they cant find the problem

She is at work and can't log onto here, just can read, and so sent it to me on skype

Hey Had some energy left after my shift so I decided to take a look now. You've set the guid on the memory and the memory manager to the same guid, which means it's not associating that guid with the memory but the manager-object Restore the memory manager guid to the original one or give it a new one of your own. Once that is fixed I believe it should work, because everything else seems to be in order.

Awesome! Well done on following the tutorial. I found it rather overwhelming the first time, but DiLight is a good teacher Her memory-objects are my all time favorite creation, though Monique's pc is a very close second.
