Default WCIF (Victorian) country cottage style items/larger floral patterns
As the title says, I am looking for sort of (Victorian) country cottage style items. Mainly interested in furniture and decor for living room, bedroom, office/library, hallways, etc. - I have plenty of kitchen stuff, so that's sorted, don't need much for bathroom except for 1 specific item(see bottom of the post). To help you picture the kind of style items I mean - something similar to country style items from Sims 2 Seasons, furniture from Grandpa's Grove, Country Livin', Brunch at the Old Mill store sets combined with classics like the Lap of Luxury sofa and Luxiare loveseat, as well as Regal Living store set. I am also REALLY interested in pastel-coloured(not dark!) traditional style rugs - I really love Snug Rug from Grandpa's Grove store set and Pralinesims' Classic Carpet 13(see pic below), but can't exactly use those in every room

I would also love to have some larger-scale victorian/illustrative style floral&wildlife patterns. I have several of the smaller ones, but need something that would look good on walls and sofas - as an example, I adore the birds on branches pattern that I think came with either base game or world adventures. This might be a bad example due to the fact that the pictures are really small, but Cathy's recolours of Colonial armchair from Sims 2 were some of my absolute favourites and I'd love to be able to achieve a similar effect: http://www.aussietopenders-sims2.com/comfortpage2.htm (the recolous are at the bottom of the page; I mainly mean Blue Hues, Classic Floral and middle chairs from each of the other sets; only posting as a link because pictures are so small); in the same vein - this recolour of Luxiare is a good example of the sort of patterns I mean:

Here are a couple images from google, hopefully those help:

Ideally I'd love to find CAStable patterns, but I understand that it might be a tall order.

Would also be interested in tapestries of a similar style(or something like the really expensive one from Supernatural):

There are also 3 specific objects I am looking for:
Traditional rugs by annej (I can only find it on Pinterest and the link from Social Sims no longer works)
If it exists - 2t3 conversion of the large Seasons wardrobe
If it exists - 2t3 conversion of the bath & shower combination - I unfortunately don't remember the in-game name, but it's probably something like colonial tub, it's the most expensive one in the game and is just a classic tub with a shower curtain. Of course I know that there's a similar tub in Sims 3, but I'd really love to find one that has a shower as well. I don't mind if it's not a direct conversion, just need something in the same style

Here is something to get you started. - https://www.thesimsresource.com/dow...ch/shabby+chic/ - I think you would have better luck finding the style you want by doing a google search "Sims 3 Shabby Chic". Or Shabby Chic Bathroom, etc.

Also, pretty much anything from Lunasims. Website no longer exists but can be viewed via the Wayback Machine. https://web.archive.org/web/2017101...lamai.jimdo.com
Her files are located here, if your brave enough to try and find specific things. Would be the "luna" folder - https://mega.nz/#F!NIsR3JAb!-2e_1UWE3AMCEgkKRYXO1A - and some stuff is here too - https://isevelii.tumblr.com/

@KatyFernlily Thanks! My problem with a lot of the stuff that's described as Shabby Chic(both on thesimsresource and in real life) is that it's mostly shabby without chic I find that a lot of the decor stuff that's on TSR in this style looks like it came from the Sims' dollar store, same with furniture, so it's not exactly what I am looking for to be honest, but I do understand how it might come across that way. I also feel that a lot of the items "qualify" as shabby chic simply because they are white/white with a pink floral design and are otherwise truly unremarkable. So I *think* I have everything that I liked off of TSR already(I definitely don't expect to find any more carpets there as I have looked through all of them recently, same with beds and sofas).

What I am looking for is definitely more similar to the mix and match that were Victorian interiors, with some more simplified designs that you'd expect to see in a countryside cottage where it is less important to keep up appearances and be lavish than in the main London residence(at least this is how I see it in my head).

I will definitely look into Lunasims' stuff though, some of it looks really cool at first glance, so thank you very much for that!

The Annej rugs link still works:

You can find a heap of William Morris type patterns here:
https://www.thesims3.com/search/mat...=0000&submit=GO

Also, can you provide pictures of the TS2 things you're looking for? There might be similar stuff already out there.

When you say a Victorian countryside cottage, I don't know if you mean more of a Cotswolds/Bulbury thing, which kind of teeters on medieval, or more of a Arts & Craftsman minimalist modern approach (which sometimes flirts with Gothic). Neither one is very big on using "Victorian" furniture though, so I'm not exactly sure what you're actually looking for?

I often struggle with how I imagine "Victorian" interior decorating, cuz I think their architecture and fashion were sometimes more uniform than their decorating. The Victorians imported so much "Oriental" stuff, or were trying to be Neo-Classical, or Neo-Gothic, or Craftsman, or whatever, that I'd say you're okay with just using any ole furniture, as long as the CLOTHES are accurate.

Here is something I did to collect alot of old cc not so much available anymore. I downloaded several lots from http://frauengel.blogspot.com/

Examples: http://frauengel.blogspot.com/2012/...ng-cottage.html
http://frauengel.blogspot.com/2012/...-cottage_1.html
http://frauengel.blogspot.com/2012/...sh-cottage.html
http://frauengel.blogspot.com/2012/...-romance_4.html
http://frauengel.blogspot.com/2013/...te-cottage.html
http://frauengel.blogspot.com/2013/10/ghost-hotel.html

Anyway, I ended up with alot of patterns, rugs and tons of frilly, girly stuff that I just love and find a very close match to what you are looking for, IMHO. AND she's an inspiration to builders everywhere!!!
Please keep in mind that she has alot of builds for sims 4. The sims 3 stuff is more at the bottom of her "calendar archive" there on the side of the blog.

I also found alot of cool stuff by downloading Ruby's Lots as well. She is also very inspiring and creates beautiful houses. Example: http://rubyred-sims3.blogspot.com/2...rian-house.html

Both websites downloads are very CC intense. Please download at your own risk.

@KateFernlily

Out of the houses that you've linked, the one that I'd say is more my style overall is Frau Engel's ghost hotel, which I did not expect at all! But it could also be a case of me not really being able to see past the textures(mostly non-textile ones) in the first couple of houses as they are really not me. I am also trying to not download any lots as they usually come with way too much stuff I don't need and I try to keep my CC relatively limited, as my current computer isn't really the best for Sims 3. I have however seen some interesting ideas for landscaping and furniture placement and possibly layout, so now I am honestly having a bit of an "idea overload" because I have *just* built a new house for my Sims that I thought I was quite happy with layout and outside-wise, but now that I've seen other options I am having way too many doubts, so I might have to start over from scratch I have been trying to challenge myself to build more, as I usually just take over one of the existing houses, but now I feel like I am getting a bit too ambitious here

@murfee

First off - thank you SOOO much for the link to the patterns! Some of them are just gorgeous, I haven't had time to test them in the game, but with some luck they will work well. And thank you for the link to the carpets - I thought I tried the wayback machine, but I've been looking through so many cc sites lately that perhaps that one was the one I forgot to do it for.

Here are the Sims 2 items I was looking for(these are both images from MTS's members, I hope it's ok, unfortunately I don't have the time to fire up my game at the moment):

With the tub - I have found someone who's created a curtain that matches the one on this tub, but it's purely a decorative item, while I'd love to be able to find a functioning shower/tub combination that would have a similar style. With the wardrobe - I am mainly looking for a large wardrobe that would make sense in a hallway as somewhere you'd store your winter/autumn clothes and shoes. I have considered using the medieval-looking one that came with Supernatural, but it's a bit too big for the space(not tile-wise but it's very tall and wide so it mainly looks big) and most of the CC wardrobes I've found are quite modern or very heavily decorated, like something you'd find at Versailles palace(and thought my Sims aren't poor, they sure as heck aren't royalty)

And you are right that Victorians weren't great at being consistent with their interiors! What I am looking for I guess would be a combination of Arts & Craftsman, Gothic, Medieval and Regency with a dash of Georgian, without baroque/rococo elements(as those were quite common in Victorian times). If it helps at all, I am playing in Moonlight Falls and the "idea" behind a house would be a Victorian house that was abandoned up until my Sims' moved in and then renovated/restored as a combination of what was left behind by the original owner and what they have brought in to both match the style and modernise it a bit. I am not using any items that look like would have been designed any time after 1920s(apart from TVs/computers/etc as they are still modern folks :D), but I am definitely not going for historic accuracy here. I will admit it's a bit difficult for me to describe how I see it in my head because sometimes I don't even know where the images come from. You must think I am such a mess by now

I think you're idea's fascinating; sounds exactly like the kind of place I'd love to live in, out in old San Francisco or New England or somewhere where the old Victorian houses are preserved. :lovestruc

The tub: I THINK this one's it: http://mspoodle1.tumblr.com/post/13...-ts3-conversion (the curtain's not tucked in though)

As for the wardrobe, I don't THINK I recall seeing anything like that -- at least certainly not Supernatural EP functional. But I rarely use/pay attention to dressers or armoires. :P
http://www.modthesims.info/browse/t...tegory=Dressers <-- huge and bulky ones, I know. U_U
There are a few slimmer ones at TSR, but sometimes they don't clearly say which ones are for SN or basegame:
https://www.thesimsresource.com/dow...search/armoire/
https://www.thesimsresource.com/dow...earch/wardrobe/
EA's at the Store I think are just dressers? https://store.thesims3.com/productL...ategoryId=11562

Just an FYI be careful with the Ruby Red houses I discovered the broken counter in the Cottage one which is my favorite. After breaking the whole cottage apart I was able to get some of the CC out of it I wanted before removing it get rid of the counter.

I use Sims3pack cleaner and take out most objects - only keeping those old things that are so hard to find now.

Same here. I also recently found S3PViewer I think it's better than the cleaner. You can extract from it as well. S3 Package Viewer this has been a life saver and my go to for breaking apart sims3packs and packages it does both.

Couldn't find this pattern for sims 3 but I did find the pattern itself. I don't think it's that hard to make a pattern for the game. Here it is - https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillo...l-unqq1917.html

One that's a bit more colorful - https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillo...l-unqq2182.html

What I do with lots is to use the Multi Extractor tool here . It extracts the lot and all the cc inside it to package files.
Then you use the Thumbnail Extractor tool here , to get a picture of every package (cuz it'll extract with crazy effing names).
The package file with the lot, you can just drop in your Library folder. The rest of the CC you can either discard, or Merge in S3PE (or not) & install.

Hi all, sorry for being away for a while, crazy week! Only had time to sit down and test the stuff you've all recommended me yesterday

@murfee

I'm glad that you like my idea Actually there's another "layer" to the story there, with the house originally belonging to my Sims' greatgreatgrandmother that she never knew and it holds a clue to discovering her true history(I tend to play my CAS Sims as orphans to explain the lack of family tree and spoiler alert the secret has to do with Supernatural haha). But that doesn't really have too much influence on the style of the furniture I am looking for hehe.

And thank you so much for the tub! It is not an exact match to the Sims 2 one, but it is just what I was looking for, so it's perfect for me. I also finally had the opportunity to test the William Morris patterns you've linked me to and a couple work really nicely! Though a couple are a bit of a heartbreak because they are beautiful but are either not seamless or very low-res But that's the thing with a lot of CC I am afraid... There are some items that look great in posed screenshots, but are different in-game. Unfortunately, none of the wardrobes at TSR are what I have in mind, I have downloaded one from here, but will have to see if I'll be using that one after all. For now it's still sort of an open request, but it's not a priority at the moment I think

@marydehoyos

Thank you for the link to the patterns! The ones you linked me to weren't exactly what I had in mind, but I found a couple of other ones on that site that I could use for other purposes

And I'll have to try playing around with the extractors to see if that's something I want to bother with. I don't download lots anymore because they often come with 99% of the stuff I don't care for and then that one single lamp I need so I find it to be too much work, but perhaps your method is easier
