The Hard Disk, aka the Hard Drive, if it is still accessible and not wiped clean. I believe the OP was fretting because they got rid of the hard drive in the first system. I had to tell my friend off when she basically trashed her old system because she got a new one. There was so much I could have pulled off her old hard drive for her.

I wanna play my Sims all night, and play em everyday...

Have you ever noticed that the letters f, o, and r are next to the letters d, i, and e respectively. So if you're not careful whenever you are typing the word 'for' you run the risk of typing 'die' instead.

Unfortunately I could not use such a tool because the computer crashed and burned taking the hard drive with it. I had no access to the program at all. I could not even put the hard drive in another computer and retrieve it because it was fried. I did go ahead and download Double Deluxe so I have it up and running and am now adding the rest of my EP's and SP's too it and am very much looking forward to playing! Thank you very much for attempting to help though.

Nothing survived, I could literally smell smoke. It was a wicked electrical storm my several hits on the power within a few seconds. It fried the power protector thing. In the grand scheme of things I'm really thankful it did not burn the house down.

Yes. I was right. This will walk you through all of the "officially legal" way.

Works like a charm! I lost my Sims 2 Seasons code a few years ago, and I just used this and found it. Yay!

That should help my situation. I have Life Stories still installed on my *old* hard drive and I just installed said old hard drive into my new computer. Still can't find the manual (even after donning a pith helmet and going behind the entertainment center) so hopefully I can recover my own code from my old hard drive.

(Disclaimer: Yes, I have the Life Stories disk and I did register it with EA. But I lost the freaking manual! )
