I got mods to work by downloading my copies of Sims Medieval and the Sims Medieval Pirates and Nobles through Origin as I wanted to see if they worked by bypassing the CD versions. And following the advice on How to Mod, instead of putting the Mods folder etc.. in the C:/Electronic Arts/Sims Medieval file, I put the Mod folder in Program Files (86) in C:/Origin Games/Sims Medieval Folder and I put the Script mod d3dx9_31.dll in C:/Origin Games/Sims Medieval/Game/Bin. I followed all the steps to get the mods working except I had to change the directory which was through the C:/Origin Games file. I hope this helps you.
