Default Default skin that's basically prettier maxis skin?
I've thought about getting my sims new skins to fix the fact that EAxis thinks that lips are skincolor, instead of pink like in real life. I have a preexisting game with characters and I don't want to see their appearance change that much. Also, I've tried two so far, and for some reason the S1 defaults are really pale. Any recommendations?

I like Leh's skintone: http://www.digitalperversion.net/ga...hp?topic=8661.0
You can find more in default database on maxis-match page: https://sims2defaults.dreamwidth.org/333689.html (some of them look a lot like maxis skins or are improved versions of it, which is what you want)

I added a new set to the finds thread here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthre...stpost&t=565730 post 365. Set of defaults with two tone choices and 8 faces. I'm actually trying them out today, just put them in. I choose face 8 in the second skin choice in each set because yes, most defaults are too pale. I'll put up a picture if you like. It was choosing the face which was hardest and I'm not sure I have that right yet.

There you go. So sk1 had two, one paler and one darker, same with the rest and that is the darker skin tone of each skin.

Those are a bit small, I'll put the whole body shots on PhB. Edit. Might help if I used the snap shots rather than the thumbnails doh.

I looked around for almost 6 years for MM skins and these look way better in game than the pic's shows.

I got the defaults and they looked beautiful, but for some reason certain patches of skin wouldn't show, and instead bugged out and become white patches with something written on them, I forgot what it was since I didn't have FRAPS open to take a picture.

I have had them now over 6 years and never had a problem, I also have all 12 plus the default package just in case I want something new for a sim.

Did you delete the cache files because your game may still be looking for you old set.

Damn, I didn't delete using Sims2packinstaller. Maybe that's it. How do I fix it?

I am having the same issue with the defaults. It's like it breaks the hair texture, for some weird reason. And it layers the clothing texture over the sim's forearms and hands. I just tested them in a vanilla game with no previous defaults.

Oh well. I will just download the custom ones and default them myself I think.

I tried those defaults a couple of years ago and they didn't break anything in my game. I took them out I think because I didn't like some of the lip colours.

I've swapped mine back to the ones I had before, PeachT Special needs, I think there is less pixelated areas and less of arm seam.

How weird that others are using them just fine?! I wonder if redownloading would help. I also only get seven skins to choose from in the custom tab, even though I downloaded the whole set plus the extras.

Edit: Wait. I think I found the problem. Hold on <testing>

You need the custom skins as well as the defaults. Just the four the defaults are based off, if you don't want the others. They are created using the repository technique. They work fine in my game now

@simsfreq try the set from my game and see if it works, I have uploaded them to Sim File Share and the link is in the other post.
If they work good if not then it will either be your game or your computer that is doing it.

I fixed it - I didn't have the custom files in because I copied the wrong set across from my downloads folder.

It should tell you on the post you downloaded them from.
I don't use the genetized ones so I don't know.

There's no information on whether or not they're genetized, and I really want genetics to work right in my game.

Have you tried the PeachT ones I linked to, I still think they are better.

Thanks, can you give me a link so I can read it?

I'm fine with it not being townified because I create my own townies.

It's the same link as the one in post 4. I found the quote in the first post of that thread.
