This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Uncontrollable Screen Flickering
I'd first like to mention that when I first downloaded The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection almost 2 years ago from Origin, I needed to apply the Graphics Rule hack from leefish in order for my game to run properly--and up until now everything was 110% OK. Now all of a sudden when I turned my computer on to play and there is an uncontrollable black flickering every couple of seconds during gameplay. It seems to happen more often when I move the camera but it will still happen even if I am just sitting still. I have turned the Internet upside down looking for a solution and so far nothing has worked... I made sure there are no background programs running first; Leefish says to adjust the smooth edges slider to maximum but mine was already set at max; I've also tried creating a new graphics rule via the program; I've tried using a pre-made graphicsrule.sgr file from leefish; tweeking all of the options manually within the sgr file... The Sims is finally out to get me

I've been playing with the flickering for about two weeks now trying to to let it bother me but it is just getting so annoying. I haven't made any recent changes to the hardware/software on my computer that could explain this odd behavior within The Sims 2. I'm out of ideas.

My System Specs Are:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @4.00 GHz 4.00 GHz
Installed Memmory (RAM): 16.0 GB
System type: 64 bit OS (Windows 7 Professional)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980

If its not you card going bad on you then try this.

Remove your My Doc folder for UC and place it on your desktop and before you run the game go into Origin and right click on UC and do a repair on it then check for updates and keep on checking for updates till it tells you its up to date.

Now start up the can and let it gen up new files and see how the game runs, if it runs great then replace what you need from the folder on your desktop into My Doc and see it that works.
