This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
Default Need help making this house--what expansions and stuff do I need?
I want to make Kame House from the Dragon Ball series but I'm not sure everything I need to get started.

I know I'll need Island Adventures since it's an island, and probably Into The Future for the modular couch. I don't know how to curve the stairs like that and I don't think a spiral staircase would work. I can do with or without the logo on the side.
I have a feeling a lot of CC will be needed for the knickknacks and the brightly colored stove.

I wasn't really paying attention to the modular couches, but I have them without Into The Future. My suspicion is that it was Late Night.
https://www.thesimsresource.com/dow...rs-/id/1115099/ might help a bit with the stairs. They aren't exactly what you want, but they are close, and better than spiral stairs.

For the slanted walls upstairs/attic try this: https://www.thesimsresource.com/art...oom/id/1230246/

Thanks guys! Oy, for all the options this game has, it's missing some basic functions. My dream is to make the house I used to live in, but it had a "half floor" with a bedroom and half bath off of a landing where the stairs turned, and I don't think that's possible (to say nothing of the above ground pool). I thought Kame House would be a reasonable enough thing but wow.

Considering that house is way bigger on the inside (rooms are roughly 8x8 by TS3 standards, while the outside is roughly 4x4 or 5x5), you'd probably have troubles building it however you choose to go about it, if you're planning to make it close to identical.

You can do a simple approximation by making the outside larger, so you have space for 2 floors and a basement (or one floor + basement). That way the building gets much easier. The outside is just a big box with a roof, and the rooms are rectangular, so that's not much more than a 10-minute job (not counting putting in the furniture). Most of the knick-knacks are already in TS3, and the rest can more or less easily be found as CC, depending on how similar you want it to the original. Pretty sure you'd only need the basegame + possibly Island Adventures (for the island look) to make it work.

When you say "half floor" - do you mean like a loft? That is easy to do in Sims3. (example: https://www.thesimsresource.com/dow...oft/id/1294211/

No I mean a floor that's about halfway up the stairs. Where I used to live, the stairs turned like I said, and at the landing where they turned, there was a bedroom and half bath. Then the stairs continued on. The floor below was of normal height.

You might have some luck with CFE in making your floor, but you would need to use wallpaper that doesn't show the distortion.

And you would have a bear of a time if you ever decided to remodel. Which is why I never use CFE and can't give you any real hints other than to make guide pillars with foundation and/or walls.

CFE = Constrain Floor Elevation
It's a cheat used when building but did you not realise, the first link KatyFernlily posted above, goes to the Sims Exchange where the Kame house has already been uploaded by ursik. :-)

Oh! I did miss that! Thank you! Though that's got a bridge on it and I'm looking for a full on island to put out in the ocean or something. Could something like that be modified?

I'm not sure if that can be modified but you could just download it and see what it's like. If you want an island, I think you're going to have to find a world to download that already has an island, unless you know how to use The Sims 3 Create-a-World Tool (CAW). I know there are a few worlds available to download that consist of just one tiny island all by itself but I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.
