This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default My neighbourhood grass is screwy
AAAAAAA. What does this mean? It just came there!
It looks foul and has a foul aura to it.

Am I corrupted? Is it graphics? I don't know.

It's connected to my owned lot (I tried moving the mess away and that lot came with it)

The drop off has been made. You've been warned.

That looks like the sign of your video card or integrated video is burning up and you could be destroying your laptop/computer.

Not all video chips can handle this very demanding game.

If you computer is still under warranty keep on playing but make sure of your warranty date and turn it in for repair before that time is up.

The last EP of this game was over 5 years ago, Marka93. Please stop parroting old, outdated information. The integrated graphics chips of that time could not handle the game. The integrated graphics chips of today CAN. The OP needs to go to Leefish and download the Graphics Rules Maker app and run it to get the appropriate settings for her card installed in her game. She needs to be sure to adjust the dedicated texture memory to a more reasonable level, too, in the GRM when she runs it. It is, indeed a graphics card issue.

If the OP is running the original game and not the UC she will probably need to do a manual copy and paste of the new files from the GRM preview tab to a blank document, and then to the original file location.

@rhiamom Im sorry but even very low end brand new video chips can not handle Sims 2 and players need to be aware of it or lose the computer for burning it up.

It does not matter that the last EP came out over 5 years ago the Sims 2 is a very demanding game on video.

And no i will not stop warning players about this very known problem and the only time i have seen this type of problem is low end brand new video chips that are about to burn up.

Yes the "Graphics Rules Maker app" may make the game look better but like i said before the only time i have seen this kind of glitch is just before the chip burns up and cant be use any more.

I have the Graphics Rules - might be to do with Windows 8

No Kankritty that is the sigh of your video chip about to burn up on you. I have a windows 8 machine and the same thing is happening to it to but i put in a real video card in and it now works great.

Onboard video for the most part will not handle Sims 2 very well, newer higher end onboard video handles Sims 2 but not the lower end onboard video.
