This seems like it will be very helpful when it comes to mods in the game. I need to try this out. Thanks!

Will this actually tell me what is a script mod and what isn't? Or is it only looking a the file type. I'm having a bit of difficulty with this as I don't know what to unzip and not to. Furthermore, does unzipping a script mod cause it to not work or will it still be ok?

A script mod is usually a ".zip" file that contains either ".py" or ".pyo" files. That means you do not have to extract anything. If you do extract those files, I would assume they would not work (I have not tried it).
If you look in a file that is a ".zip", ".rar", ".7z", etc, any kind of archive that contains a file with the extension ".package", then it is a package mod. This means you will need to extract the ".package".

The manager simply looks at the extension, and determines what it is by that. I may make it so that it looks at the contents of the archive later on in development.

This is cool. I don't have Sims 4 yet, but when and if I do end up getting it, I'm probably getting this, too.

This would be completely my fault. I will have it fixed in the next update.
I apologize for this inconvenience. Thank you for reporting it.

I have my mods several folders deep, as I have them classified but the program doesn't recognize them...

That's because it only recognizes mods that are in the Mods folder, or in a sub-folder within the Mods folder. It does not go any deeper than that, yet.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Encountered a problem
Found your Mod Manager yesterday
thanks for putting it out; I know it’s just the add-on I am looking for
I read up on all - download and ran it just to have a quick look
It opened up just fine; showing me the interface
This morning I wanted to start working it
executing it; it only sits minimized in my taskbar
whatever I try; it does not open to a (full) workable box
- reinstall
- running it from different location
- running it under administrator rights
no change or results to my minimized problem

any clue out there about where I go wrong on this
thanks for helping me out on forehand

ty for your fast response

TS4MM only sits in taskbar - fails to open to box in focus
solved

Looking at the log it dawned on me
after executing the program for the first time
I had moved [TS4 Mod Manager.exe] to different location
deleting folder [TS4 Mod Manager] and re-executing the program
from new designated location - solved it
