Default The "Camp" Challenge
Welcome to summer camp kiddies! ha..ha... no. Welcome to my newest challenge, The "Camp." Please feel free to give me your feedback and tell me if you are trying the challenge. It is always great to know what people think of it. Any who, let's get on with it shall we?

Backstory:

You are a 15 year old (fe)male (almost 16)and receive a packet from your school about a fundraiser. You take the packet and go about selling through your neighborhood. You meet a seemingly nice woman who you've seen around the neighborhood from time to time. She agrees to buy some cookies but refuses to let you leave the porch until you take a card about the camp she runs. You take it and walk back to your house with your best friend who's mother is waiting. You both agreed that the camp looked like a good excuse to get out of school. This camp is run year round and offers classes for the campers to compensate for the lack of schooling. You say goodbye and rush inside to ask your mother about the camp. She checks it out online and agrees to letting you go. The reviews were nothing but positive, great food, class, activities, etc. You run up the stairs to your room and start throwing clothes into your bag, your mother said you could go for up to 1 week and that they should send you back after the week is up. You put an old picture of your father in your bag, he left to join the military when you were a baby and died there. You make sure to put on your locket with a picture of your family on one side and your grandparents on the other. You sling your bag over your shoulder and walk downstairs trying not to act too excited. She says the car will be there soon to take you there with the other new comers.
The car pulls up and you hop in after hugging your mom and saying your goodbyes. You drop your stuff in the trunk and climb in with the others. You arrive and are rushed down the stairs where you realize there are lots of other people. There were blocks with desks and computers in each. You were assigned the number 201, right next to another guy who looks the same age. You are told to go to your numbered area. You rush over and sit completely startled by the strictness of this place. Maybe you can survive it.

CAS:
You must create a teen, male or female it doesn't matter, this will be your main character. Fairly pretty. Traits required: Brooding, good sense of humor.
Create another teen, this is the one next to you, they must be the opposite gender of the main character. Beautiful/handsome whatever you wanna call it. Traits required: Irresistible, friendly.
Create the best friend(teen), the opposite gender of the main character and will live in a different household. Average looking, or about the same as the main character.Traits required: None.
Mother adult, must be in a nice house by herself. Must look like she has been worked but still beautiful. Traits required: family oriented, nurturing, friendly. If you don't have nurturing it doesn't matter just substitute it or ignore it.
Camp lady, adult, must be ugly and mean. Traits required are evil and mean-spirited. Rest is up to you.
5 extra people to be placed in the camp, if you have mods that allow more and you would like to make it more realistic, go ahead, now's your chance.

Creating the Lots:
1) The mother, best friend, and the friend's mother, will all live on a large lot with two separate houses. They can look however, they each simply have to be locked for the other to be out. Only the mother in one and the friend's family in the other.
2) There will be the "camp" the camp lady, other teen, you, and the extra 5+ will be placed there. There will be a computer area, this is where all schooling will take place. If you do not have a homeschooling mod, you must work up the camp lady's logic so she can teach as you cannot go outside. There must be a kitchen where the camp lady will prepare "meals" otherwise known as the worst things ever. There will be 3 bedrooms, one for the camp lady, one for 3 of the 7 children, and one last one for the other 4. If you are increasing the amount of sims, just account for there being 4 per room or if there isn't an even number account for the number you have, most rooms like that. There must be skill building items throughout the rooms.

Playing the Homes:
1) The lot with the mother will not be played until the end of the challenge (although you will create them together somewhat to end up with them still being mother and daughter/son.) Story progression will be turned off.
2) Each day has a different set of activities building skills. Usually including things which will make money for the camp lady. Some examples of days could include: Music, Painting, Sculpting, Logic, and the list goes on and on. Some skills are unable to be earned such as riding, cooking, etc. If you have to learn it from a book, you can't do it. Since you can't have pets that rules out riding. Since you can't enter the kitchen, that rules out cooking. If anything is broken it is to be replaced, not fixed, therefore the handiness skill will not be earned.
3) There must be a curfew that you have to abide by 24/7, if you are out after that by more than 15 minutes, roll. You can decide the curfew, just don't make it unreasonable.

Other Rules:
1) No cheats besides money cheats, although the most you can cheat with the money is 50,000. therefore if you use motherlode once, you can have no more money cheats. You have to keep track of such things yourself, I won't sit there and monitor you, but it brings more necessities to the money-making.
2) No pets. Although the camp lady does have 2 dogs. If you have pets it isn't a big deal. It just takes away the watch dog section.
3) Only feed on specific days for a specific time, survival of the fittest. When they are fed they should have an opportunity to grab some kind of snacks such as items from vending machines, fish, veggies, all of which can be back in a separate room locked off from anybody. If meals are prepared, they are to be prepared a day in advance and left in the room, a few plates may be left in the locked fridge for the camp lady to add realism.
4) Be realistic, don't try and feed your kids once a week, they'll die before the second feeding. I tend to do this every 2-3 days, that's only my ideas. This also includes, don't go making everything extravagant, this is supposed to look like a camp.
5) Have fun! Go crazy when you find something fun and run with it! And if you don't like this challenge go ahead and find one that you do like! It's all about the fun you have when doing these challenges. At least that's my opinion.

Scoring:
Please don't hate me... I am awful at point systems so I just say what earns a win and what doesn't.
win 1) Escape without being caught by the watch dogs. This is decided by the rolling section below.
win 2) Survive until the age of adult. (every time you age up, age up the family on the other lot.)
lose 1) Die in the camp.
lose 2) Get caught escaping 3 times.

Rolls:
Daily:
1-3, caught smuggling food, lose meal opportunity until a day late next time.
4-6, Found rotten plate of something that seems to be edible, increase hunger to about 75% full.
7, camp lady leaves for the day forgetting the keys on a desk, free rein of the building although the front is locked with 5 codes so you still cannot leave.
8-10, Come down with a virus, stay in dorm for 2 days, if a meal day comes, you have to rely on somebody else to bring you something.
11-13, Camp lady is in a good mood and decides to let you all have a fresh, extra meal.
14, you are (or a friend) is pregnant, if your main character is male or you have mostly men, choose a female with a boyfriend. Keep in mind you can play all characters in the household.
15-17, You are caught hiding in your room to get out of a chore day, locked in a back room all day with nothing but a chair.
18-20, mice infestation in the entire area, all extra snacks are taken away for 2 weeks as the mice are cleared out.

Getting Caught Sneaking Out:
1-4, you are caught in the middle of the act! You receive a strike on your list, 3 strikes and you're out. Aka trapped alone until you die of something.
5-9, the camp lady is suspicious but sends you back to the dorm with a warning that if caught like this again it's a strike. That was close.
10-12, The dogs start to growl and it alerts the camp lady but you manage to creep back inside before she comes around. She is on high alert next time and all attempts are now -2 of any rolls. That's a life or death situation.
13-15, You are nearly caught but manage to slink inside with only a slight look from her guard dogs.
16-20, You are cleared with no suspicion whatsoever.
These rolls are made if you attempt at leaving the lot during the day, the building, or your room at night, etc. anything that deserves being caught sneaking.

Smuggling Food Roll:
1-5 caught and a strike and you can't keep the food.
6-11 camp lady suspicious, you decide to leave most of the food so you don't raise suspicion, you can keep 1/4 of the food you tried to take
12-15 you slide by but raise suspicions, you must leave 1/4 of your food behind to keep from being caught.
16-20 you are in the clear, nobody suspected a thing.
If you attempt at taking food and try taking more than 10 items, you must subtract 2 from your roll. Keep your thievery on the down low.

Winning the challenge, easy right? Just survive? Not exactly, you have to figure out how to survive and get everything normal again. All of the other teens in the camp have to get back to their homes safely without the police finding out. One to two of the children can go to any household, they must at some point end up befriending somebody who aids their escape. They will be moved in with this person after the camp owner is gone, 3 ways this can happen, 1! Find somebody online. During a computer day or something have somebody chat online, they will befriend them and hopefully find an escape artist. 2! The camp owner is gone and you set up traps, you must have 75 units of food to 'trade' for these traps, if you have the food, you must also have convinced the camp owner you were out of scrap and had 50 units of scrap metal. This would be used to create such a trap. While she is trapped you will escape. 3! Use your imagination, account for every single detail, don't forget to make it a challenge, you can make it as difficult as you like!
Losing! This actually IS really easy to do, if 2-3 of the teens die of starvation, you lose. If they do not escape before they become YAs you lose. Also if they don't escape before the camp woman becomes an elder (if she already is, then when she dies of old age.)
Basically you lose if you don't win. There is no middle grounds.

Good luck guys, don't forget to check for updates since I do those often... I mean that I update this post, I like to add things.

Anton Coleman - One of the 5
Karin Decker - One of the 5
Alice Oakley - Main Character
Luke Decker - One of the 5
Nicklaus Benson - One of the 5

No problem! I do have some questions to ask.

1. What kinds of mods are allowed?
2. Are they allowed to have a small fenced in area to garden?

Here are some screenshots for the Camp.

---

Alice Oakley.

Mister Nicklaus Benson here.

Then there's Luke Decker.

Enter Maximus Shells.

Luke's twin sister, Karin Decker.

Fiona Stuart.

The gentleman Anton Coleman.

There is no ugly camp lady without Elizabeth Wilson.

The Camp from the front.

---

I'm gonna enjoy this challenge soooo much!

Any mods really, it's up to you, just try not to make it too easy.
Second question answered! You may have a garden outside although if you have supernatural and/or into the future I would push toward the indoor garden.
Now for my opinions, I love your characters! Your camp looks nice too, I'm glad you like the challenge and I hope you enjoy it even more as you play through it.

Don't worry Me1235, you can either substitute them or just drop them. They aren't necessary for any part of the challenge but it's good to have them to fit the description.

Sounds good! Glad you're liking it, and just a tip, if anything, lock the doors to the camp so only the mean woman can get in and out. The other houses are free to move like they are normal. Just a thought

I am still testing this myself so if you guys have any issues just let me know and I'll try my best to answer as well as possible.
I thought maybe some of you may want to see how it's going for me, it's been interesting so far... If you want to see it click to spoiler, if not, DO NOT CLICK!

Just a quick heads up, check the rules often as I tend to think of something as I play to make it more interesting.

Yeah! I will post pictures and stuff as well. I'm probably going to make like a storyline like this....
Hello,my name is ___(I haven't decided yet, she's female),I'm a witch, this cruel woman named Cruella(De Vil) had put up a genius website to lure children to do work for her, well supernatural teens rather to do her dirty work. She forces us to do intolerable things just because we last longer than others. It's sick. She has unfortunately put up barriers which collects magical items and give them to her,so my summoning is useless,or actually counter-productive. I don't know how the others as well as I can escape, mother must be so worried, and she can't even help me without risking to uncover the occult secrets, which would lead to our inevitable doom anyway.
That would be like a forced magical mafia of fairies vampires werewolves and witches like thing,so I'd make them do things like stealing an assassinating Cruella's foes or something of the like.
Or...
My name is Dylan. I am fifteen now,and have been for almost a year. So me and my best friend Sarah got this like, awesome note about a all-year 'round camp. So we're going there. I asked some people from school and they said they'd join as well. Even though I don't know them very well,Sarah is my only friend you see,but it is what it is. Hopefully this caretaker isn't totally sinister and will make us her slaves...ha...ha...Why would I even think that?
This would just follow the regular storyline, just thinking of what would be more fun,I like both ideas you see,I truly did enjoy that little read from the starting rules.
About the friends,I'm thinking of maybe doing like a jumper legacy with them when they grow up but I dunno...hmmmm...
Jumper legacy is a word I made up(just a name for jumping between households once a generation, unless the word is already claimed....)

Jumper legacy is a word I made up(just a name for jumping between households once a generation, unless the word is already claimed....)

lol, I'm glad you'll update and I like the way you keep up the storyline! I hope you like the challenge!

I think I will,so maybe I could grab someyhing warm to drink and sit down and play sims. Elize will be the witch's name if I go with that. Would you be interested if I posted here or do you think it would be more appropriate to start a blog?

I have started a blog and will link to I when I have made the characters. Not many will read it,but it's fun either way.
