Default What screenshot, video ,new article etc excited you the most about the sims 3?
And why ? I would say this screenshot would be the thing that has excited me most to date :

Screenshot 71

Because of how realistic it is and made my worries about the new cartoon look of the sims disappear.

I can't see the picture...

The settings look great. It's the sims themselves that look cartoony.

Yes, that's one of my favourite screen shots. I wonder if its enhanced? I haven't really seen renders showing examples of landscapes as beautiful. Curious.

Yes i also wondered if it is enhanced because other screenshots of houses made at the creators camps and videos dont look as good .

Maybe that screenshot looks better than the rest because that one was taken with the absolute highest graphics settings? I sure hope that house is in the game or can be downloaded from the exchange. I'm loving the water too, I hated how bland the water looked in The Sims 2 unless it was a beach.

This screenshot got me really excited:

When I saw that screenshot I began to accept the new look of The Sims, and I was thinking to myself "I definitely want my sims to hang out there if that place is really in the game!" which it is, too bad it's a rabbit hole.

It has taken a lot more than a screenshot to convince me that I would love to be able to at least try TS3. It has taken hours and hours of reading, looking at screenshots and watching videos, then putting all of that into context and considering each thing, first and foremost, if the computer I own will play it (which I found out it actually should with very little trouble).

That first screenshot was either enhanced or taken on a top of the line computer and there's absolutely no way it would look that good on my machine, and probably wouldn't come close on many of the machines out there.

This one is great, IMO:

It tells such an interesting story.
I'm glad ghost Sims are going to play a larger role in TS3, outside of scaring the bejeebus out of the living Sims, that is. I remember seeing a screenshot of a live Sim and a ghost Sim slow dancing, but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know the one I'm referring to?

The first screenshot I saw that made be go "wow!" and still does. Although I'm very uncertain that it's a raw screenshot now since no other picture since then has looked that good - but nothing official has suggested it's not legitimate. Some people have said it might be when the sun is at a certain angle (since it moves realistically affecting light and shadow) the light might shine through like that. Personally I think it was probably touched up a fair bit!

It was when I first heard about the personality traits and the reduced micromanagement needed. The game could've looked like the sims 2 at that point and I wouldn't care. The seamless neighbourhood sealed the deal for me. It takes a lot of the tediousness out of the game and really supports my 'create and let live' style. I like to nudge my sims in the right direction and just watch what happens .

Just look at that awesome suite!

Edit: Aww darn it doesn't take you to the specific screenshot. You'll have to scroll through, but it's the one with the two girls, one's carrying drinks, the other's sitting down... Yeah. Sorry!

My favorite is the bike image.

I suspect the path is set and you can't be flexible and ride on the sidewalk or something, it would be nice to do that. Well, at least there's another vehicle other than a car or helicopter.

I like the idea of bikes too. Good for any environmentally conscious Sims. I hope bike riding lets Sims raise their fitness levels, too.

Yeah that water looks amazing. You'd probably need a kick ass graphics card to get it to look like that though

I've learnt (finally) not to trust screenshots. So many things are staged to give impressions of things that don't exist in reality.

What finally pushed me over the edge were actually the videos on the official site. There's quite a lot of them now, I recommend watching them all, especially the unedited in-game footage.
