Hello, I just got a new pc and install my sims games, but i can't seem to download sims3pack files, i click on it the it comes up briefly with a black box and doesn't install, I just made a world as well and cant install it im soo upset :'( I'm on the latest patch 1:69

Hi. The way I install sims3packs is that I download them to some other location on my computer (Desktop, for example), unzip or unrar them if that's how they are provided, and put the sims3pack file that was inside in my TS3 game folder's Downloads folder. The Launcher sees them there and then I can install them. If the files are rar or 7z format, you will need a utility such as 7-zip to decompress them. If they are regular zips, Windows can do that on a right-click.

It's worked for now, but ea said that since the latest patch you can not use the launcher to install sims3pack files :/ so not sure how mines now working if ea said that?

Maybe EA was meaning to break the one thing the Launcher is actually good for, but forgot to do so?

With any luck, you were simply misinformed. (But that would be another reason to avoid the 1.69 patch like the plague if at all possible.)
But at this point, I would pick up the Multi-extractor just in case.

Whats the Multi-extractor and whats it for?

I've been able to install such content and I am on Patch 1.69. Some users do have trouble with EA store content, that might be a different issue.

Basically, you download the sim3packs into a file of your choosing. Open the extractor and route that file and where your mods(Packages) folder is (once done the extractor remembers the location) and the extractor does the rest. Hint: Check the rename box so the extractor will give them proper file names whenever possible and to avoid the coded what-the-heck-is-it? problem. You'll also want S3PE so you can open packages to see what they are, and check for problems as well as Delphy's dashboard for finding errors and conflicts (and fixing them).

Yes, I'm one of those. Anything EA Store, cc pattern, cc lot, cc world, I use the launcher. Stuff won't work otherwise. Other cc stuff from this site and others I download myself by using the extractor and putting the files in my documents/electronic arts/sims3/MODS/packages folder.

Thanks guys its working for now but if it stops i'll use Delphys XD
