Default WCIF: Transparent floor tile
Hey folks, returning player after year +

I used to have a set of rugs by someone named Sunhair (i think) that could be used as a workaround to make transparent floors, but I can't find them anywhere in my files, and all of my searching for them leads to now-dead links.

So, has anyone actually cracked the ability to make real "glass"/transparent floor tiles yet? Or is there another object workaround for it? One that is compatible with Patch 1.69 and all EPs. I even saw some glass floors for TS4 that looked liked multi-paned windows applied to the floor. Even those would be cool if they exist in TS3 CC, though I am really looking for seamless tiles, even if it involves something like the rugs.

OK, played around with it a bit. Nice object, but incredibly tedious to place over large surfaces. Anyone know of something that covers larger area? Also, it is more of a frosted/smoked glass as opposed to completely transparent. Again, a nice effect depending on what you are trying to accomplish, but I would like a fully transparent option, if there is one out there.

I've been using these forever: http://web.archive.org/web/20160804...te/uploads/353/
There's more here: http://www.thesimsresource.com/down.../glass%20floor/
The ITF EP comes with some, too.

The screenies on the one in the archive look very familiar; I think I may have had those at one point. It looks like they are actually transparent, which is awesome. If they are actual floor tiles, then this is exactly what I am looking for. If they are rugs or something like that, then they are still 1x1 and I am right back where I started with the other ones

Well unfortunately after trying out the ones you posted murfee they appear to be exactly the same as the ones posted by jparks, except they dont have the auto-repeat built into them like the first ones do. They are still partially opaque and only 1x1 rugs

Thank you both for posting, but these just aren't what I am looking for. The ones I used to have were much large (area rug size) and they were fully transparent. Anyone have a link to something like that?

Murfee's second link included some bigger rugs (3x3 & 5x5):
http://www.thesimsresource.com/down...ght/id/1147119/
http://www.thesimsresource.com/down...ine/id/1142380/

Maybe one of those will be more to your liking.

ah, missed those; all i saw were the other 1x1s in the list (which I had already looked at previously). Thanks again; I will check those out as soon as I can.

Don't know if the 5x5 one is actually a single piece or just multiple 1x1 pieces (doesn't clearly say).
But the 3x3 is listed as a single piece.

Yes they are each solid pieces. Neither one is 100% transparent, but the 5x5 is so close, that it would almost be nitpicking to complain on that score The 3x3 is about 90% though, so noticeably different form the 5x5. Now the problem I am running into is that the 5x5 is TOO big for some of the areas, and I can't use the 3x3 to cover them because of the difference in shading LOL. Do you know of any in the 2x2 or 3x3 range with the same shading as the 5x5? The 5x5 is JUST opaque enough to be visible when it overhangs an area

I've never tried it, but how about using OMSP resizers on the rugs to make them smaller?
