What type? General ones that are good to start with? Insimenator, sim Blender and sim manipulator. They do essentially the same thing. Insimenator and sim Manipulator clash however. Insimenator is at http://www.insimenator.org sim Manipulator is at http://simmanipulator.forumotion.co...sim-manipulator
And sim blender is at http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=20.0

"Good mods" is rather vague. I'll try.

Cyjon: http://cyjon.net/
twojeffs: http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?board=7.0
BoilingOil: http://www.leefish.nl/mybb/forumdisplay.php?fid=34
Simlogical/Inge: http://www.simlogical.com/sl/Sims2Pages/Sims2.htm
Squinge (note that many of his hacks are outdated and may have unintended effects): http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/board,152.0.html

For what it matters, InSim, the Blender, and the Manipulator have about 90% overlap in their options. However each of them have a few options the others don't, and they work side-by-side without a problem.

You can get SimWardrobe, Dizzy's, and Faiwule's mods from my signature.

Also by mods do you means mods to change game play. We call hacks mods in the sims 2 community. Or do you mean CC as in hair, clothes etc?

We can give you over a thousand mods, all for different ways to play, but an idea of what you are after will help.

I look at this website for clothes and hair:
https://sims2defaults.dreamwidth.org/

Even if you don't want the defaulted version of a hairstyle or outfit there's usually a link to the custom version.

Do a search for Almighty Hat hair dump. She has a bunch of posts. Here are a few to get you started:
https://hat-plays-sims.dreamwidth.org/50910.html
https://hat-plays-sims.dreamwidth.org/54269.html
https://hat-plays-sims.dreamwidth.org/44317.html
https://hat-plays-sims.dreamwidth.org/44065.html
Watch file sizes on hair. I found some to be very big files. Until I thinned the herd, hair used up the most megabytes of any one group of Custom Content in my Downloads folder. In fact, it reached gigabyte proportions.

Clothing is harder to point you to without knowing your style. I found a lot of stuff I liked at TSR (TheSimsResource.com). But that place is a real hassle to download from. Ads, waits if you use an ad blocker. $ charge if you want to download without waits or ads.

For new clothes, hair and objects it's best to register at simcave and check over there for updates at least once or twice a week. They update often with new uploads that the community has put up, you will soon discover creators that you like. Tumblr is where most items are posted now.
This is the update find page. http://simscave.mustbedestroyed.org...php?board=172.0

Tumblr, garden of shadows, all the hairs database are all good resources. Veranka's Tumblr is great for maxis match objects, but if you're looking for emo, Garden of Shadows is a great place to start as they have a mix of styles on there. They do monthly themes in the 'Quick into the Tardis' section that go back years.

This seems in danger of turning into a WCIF thread - please use the WCIF forum for finding stuff.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.
I'm here on tumblr and my site, tflc

I have a secret website that I go to that helps me find all the best stuff. It has literally every single mod or piece of cc you can think of. Every single one ever created for anything and everything!

You know what it is? Google. Seriously. Google. You can find everything you'll ever want by searching for it. Don't be lazy, don't just ask - because people aren't going to know where the good stuff is, and what I mean by the good stuff is the stuff YOU want.

You know what I do when I'm building a skate shop and I realise that I don't have the right cc? I go to google. Or when I want a specific body type for my sims. Google again. Or when I wonder if someone's made a mod to stop x annoying behaviour - Google for the win. Works every time. Every. Single. Time.

I'm guessing so if maxon deleted your reply. WCIF area probably would be most pertinent as you seek Where Can I Find good mods.

Terse or sarcastic replies to the OP does not help anyone and it just pours gasoline on a bonfire if the OP takes the bait. /preaching

@maxon: Can you move this to WCIF?

Oh..then I guess, the WCIF thread really serves no purpose

Moving and please keep things civil. Google does not work every single time for every single person.
