Default The photography thread
Hi All,

This thread is designed to showcase pictures you have taken yourself. It is not for just posting random pics you see on the net.

Please see the rules in the announcement, but basically all posts should have:

- A link or a thumbnail to the picture
- A description
- Details about how it was taken
- Any photo editing / filters used

Have fun, and I look forward to seeing the kind of talent you all have!

Regards
Delphy

Scene: Cookies in a jar
Taken: In the living room, on a low windowsill, with a plate glass window immediately behind
With: Kodak Easyshare 7430
Filters: None
Notes: I like this picture for the contrast and the fact that it 1) wasn't that dark and 2) was actually kinda cloudy. I did the pic on a macro setting, and quite like how it came out.

Scene: The Atomium
Taken: Standing kinda underneath the atomium, looking up through the structure
With: Kodak Easyshare 7430
Filters: None
Notes: This is just a really cool angle, and not one I think people often see.

All of my art, not just photos, are on my deviantART. I got complimented very well by a former professional, he said that my pictures would be among the top three in his college class. Here are some samples:

Day Lily

Scene: A gorgeous day lily.
Taken: In the yard of Robert Frost after a rainstorm.
Make: Canon
Filters/Editing: Extremely subtle clarification.

"So Humble"

Scene: A broom with humble lighting.
Taken: In my condo next to the front door.
Make: Canon
Filters/Editing: I can't recall the filter, but the image is unedited.
Notes: I really loved how the lighting came out.

Ironic Lake Scene

Scene: An incredibly blue lake scene in the middle of Foliage Weekend.
Taken: Right before a driving lesson at a lake next to Bodie Miller's farm.
Make: Canon
Filters/Editing: No editing, Tungsten used.

Love the Cookies in the Jar Delphy, but I'm not sure what the Atomium is (although it's a greatly compose picture, with the reflections addingan extra oomph).

I'd have to agree with that former professional Zavi...outstanding.

I love the one of the statues Slytherin-Girl.

Default you may look at photos taken by yours truely
I love my nikon, it was a birthday gift i think probably 6-7 years ago from my husband. You can look at my precious link below. I especially like taking close up pictures of things, anything close up. and if my next digatal camera has zoom lence I die of joy :P, (give hints to hubby) my favourite angle when taking pictures of trees is stand right under the tree close to the tree trunk, and look up. simply beautiful. also would love to be able to take pictures of animals. I don't have details of how I take my pictures, I just take them, my digital camera is with me all the time. so i have lots of pictures, they are not great ones but they are sort of a kind of pictures diary and docementations of what comes into the house, and what grows in my garden and my mom's garden and my dad's paintings, its like a photo diary for me.

remember to put on sun lotion when you are out taking picture of trees... i got sun burn recently doing that.

here traveling pictures and of my garden.

click next blog to go to next page (right hand side under Links)
*warning* lots of pictures

here for things growing around my house
here for things crawling into my house
here for bobo and deedee

they are all taken with this

below are sample of taking trees pictures from directly beneath it, instant pattern

I'm just a casual photographer, it's a hobby that I enjoy (like most creative outlets) but these are a few of the most recent photographs I've taken and edited. While these pictures may have weird titles and even weirder link directs and descriptions, they are rated G.

Necromance
"The darkest power surrounds the dead."
This is bits and pieces of some of the weird things I keep around my room. A wishbone, a crab claw, wings from a massive moth, human teeth. My excuse is that I was playing with light and textures. It was taken with a Sony Digital camera, and there's some slight contrast editing done with Micro$oft Picture and Fax Viewer (cheap, I know)

Tooth Fairy Rejects
"Thirty white horses on a red hill."
No one was hurt in the making of this photograph except, of course, me when I got these teeth removed at the dentist's office. This was an experiment with slight reflections, light, colour and placement of the objects, I still think I failed miserably at it. Again, same type of camera as noted before and slight editing with the same program.

Rough Love
"Would you mind if I killed you? Would you mind if I tried to?"
This photograph is a result of what happens after I sit in class and actually listen to a lecture. The topic was domestic abuse, which is a big thing with me, how some victims of physical abuse at the hands of their partner feel like they cannot escape and are trapped. The red tone was edited on, as was the brightness (darkness?) and contrast.

The Italicized Subtitle Credits
Necromance: Me (apparently...)
Tooth Fairy Rejects: The Hobbit by Tolkien
Rough Love: What Have You Done by Within Temptation

"I am a fly in the ointment, I am a whisper in the shadows. I am also an old, old woman. More than that you need not know."
