Default Sims 4 speed glitch
Hi there,

I'm experiencing a problem with The Sims 4. It all started when I installed Get To Work. I have tried all solutions that come to mind (from removing mods to uninstalling and reinstalling the game) I have taken a video of the problem. It seems that the time and the lighting of the game is speeding by at a very high speed but the sims are staying in their current state. In the video it goes through about 7 days in the space of one minute. I'm hoping somebody here has experienced this and knows a solution. Thanks

I think it's the same bug reported here
http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4...ng/td-p/3806607
Only different detail it's the lighting thing, but there are also simmers reporting this in the same thread. So please, click "me too" and post a reply with your video and bug details.
I don't think we have any solution for this right now, I think they need to fix it in a patch.

I did encounter this bug minus the lighting thing but I have no idea if there's a workaround for it.

Let's just agree to disagree.

Thanks. I've done that. Hopefully they fix it soon.

From the video, it seems speed was set to 1. The person simply recorded 7 days of the game in speed 1 and then speed it up so we can see the idle sim. It seems more of an autonomy problem than a speed problem. I would like to see the sim's needs bar to see what's going on there.

Excuse me but I did not simply record 7 days and then speed it up. This is a genuine issue that I'm having.

Hi thanks for your suggestions!

Unfortunately none of them have fixed or improved the issue. One thing that I neglected to mention earlier is that this speed issue also happens on the main menu (the plumbob spins ridiculously fast) and in Create-A-Sim

Fixed it!
When I start my computer there is an option to disable/enable x-boost. I've never known what it was for so I never turned it on but while restarting my computer I noticed that it was turned on so I disabled it and now the game is running smoothly.

Thanks for all your help!

Glad you fixed the problem. I was about to agree with nitromon that the video was faked (even though that wasn't the intent of the post, it just sounded that way) until I noticed that the shadows were changing as you moved your point of view. That would've been tough to fake, certainly not impossible, but who would do that. Funny video though, must have been quite annoying!

Looking back at the video it does look a bit fake. I do have to wonder who would spend so much time faking something like that though haha!
