I just got my copy of World Adventures in the mail today. I’m enjoying it so far! There are some questions that I have, mainly about relationships created between Sims from different foreign locales. Here are the big ones for me, and I’ll share my preliminary findings too. Scenario One: Can a Sim conceive a child with a foreign Sim while on vacation? Scenario Two: Can a Sim conceive a child with a foreign Sim while the foreign Sim is visiting the local Sim? Does it matter whether the local Sim is male or female in the above scenarios? If either of the above scenarios is possible with a male local Sim, are you notified about the birth of the baby? I’m currently playing World Adventures with a single male Sim who has started a relationship with a female Sim in China. “Try for Baby” does show up as an option after sufficient romancing, but thus far all attempts for even “WooHoo” have been rejected. This could be a coincidence – I’ve only had time to try a few times. My local Romeo even invited his lady-love to visit back in Riverview, and there was much more success there. I got a successful “Try for Baby” with lullaby chimes and all. Then, I got a message with a little stork graphic that said the lady had to go home early since she wasn’t feeling well. All seemed well! However, after a few days, I went back to China, and the female Sim is not pregnant. I have no idea why. Also, my male Sim’s family tree refuses to open now. Quite bizarre. Anyone have any success with trans-continental children? Or any other ideas related to this topic? |

Time does not pass in the destinations and I highly doubt story progression does either. Meaning she's eternally not-showing and never-showing until she moves into the neighborhood. |

Well, that kinda stinks. I wish story progression worked in the new locales! I hope someone someday makes a mod that enables story progression in the new cities. |

I am betting they aren't even supposed to get pregnant unless they live with you to begin with. Kinda like how NPCs like the firewomen can't get pregnant. |

An update: female local sims can get pregnant by a foreign male sim that they've met and romanced on their travels, but the pregnancy does not progress until they have returned home. Also, I had a male sim invite a female foreign sim to move in with him, and they just had their first child. |

I understand that pregnancy is suspended in the destination neighborhoods, but what about marriage? Hunter Cottoneye unexpectedly found the love of his life, Liu Liu Weng, at the Martial Arts Academy. After much sparring and romancing, they have recently become engaged. If Hunter marries Liu Liu in China before his visa is up, will she automatically return home with him, will they be separated, or will he have the option to move in with Liu Liu? |

I had one sims who impregnated two female sims in France. One lady (who he ended up marrying but couldnt have move in with him), she had a little girl. Then the second female had a little boy. By the time he went back home (after conceiving the two children) both the little girl and boy where at the child stage. Then on his second trip back to France he got his fiance pregnant again. Just like before, when he returned home his second son was also at the child age stage. I knew this because by looking on his list of people he knew the children icons had shown up with the family indication sign. After I invited his wife back to his home for the second time, something went wrong and everybody but two people and 1 red square were someone else picture should be is all that showed up. Then I couldn't open up his family tree anymore. Ah nvm I read at gamestop that you can marry/have children with the foreigners. Something is wrong with this here game of mine.

That's a thing i really hate. The Sims in sunset Valley or Riverview just freeze until you're back from vacation. I want everything to progress.. |

That explains why my Sim could hug, kiss, love, snuggle, make out, serenade, and leap into the arms of Gustave the handsome relic dealer, but could never invite him back. And she didn't get mad when she had to ask out Margot La Slutpants on Gustave's behalf. Ah well. C'est tragique and all that. |

I kind of like that everything freezes. I plan on sending my newlyweds abroad after their baby is born. I don't want them to come back to a toddler or to a child! FYI: when you marry someone abroad, that person automatically joins your household. You have the option to bring family members with that person, but you don't have the option to move your sim into the foreign sim's home. There is a little bit of glitchiness associated with this transition. For example, the morning after my newlyweds arrived home, Hunter rolled the wish to ask Liu to move in. Does anyone know if the sims who are native to foreign lands age and die? I ask because I want to know whether or not Liu's friends and relations will remain forever young like some sort of creepy vampire people while she ages and dies in Riverview. |

I had a male sim meet and woo a female sim in China. He then invited her back to his place for a visit and got her pregnant. I thought he should do the honorable thing, so I had him chase her back to China to marry her. When he got there his son was not only born, but a child already. So he married her and brought them both home with him. *Note.. I have Twallan's Story Progression, that's my guess why the kid was a child already even though she hadn't been pregnant but a day. Don't know for sure. |

As I wrote in another thread, Don Lothario romanced a sim in Egypt. All woohoo options where available, I selected Try for a Baby, and she became pregnant. Don invited her for a visit, and she was not pregnant, so the tried for a baby again, and she became pregnant and went back home. (No Propose Marriage option came up.) The next time Don Went to Egypt he had two children. The children are at a different stage each time he visits. Now he has a level 3 visa and is there for 15 days. I'm curious to see if their ages progress. |

Midnight Special met Xaibo Tei on vacation during a martial arts quest. She did marry him in China, and not only did he come along home with her, but so did his son by Sun Young Sen, whom he was not married to. Midnight, Xaibo, and Kueng Special are enjoying there day on the beach in Sunset Valley now, and another Special bundle is on the way. How happily ever after cliche is that?

Well my sim spent his 15 days in Egypt and his children by a local did not age. It seems there is aging only when the playable sim is at home. |

Romancing foreign sims is actually something I really enjoy (for whatever reason). I have never tried to conceive a child between them though ;O; I don't know why that never occurred to me, but it was likely due to the fact that I most often create sims that end up alone with their careers, rather than a family. |
