Default Katawa Shoujo A very hart warming/hart breaking VN (VN = Visual Novel.)
Katawa Shoujo A very hart warming/hart breaking VN (VN = Visual Novel.) With some game like components.

VN = Visual Novel.
CG's = Computer Graphics.
CG's are added to an Extra option so you can go back and revisit some of the more important scenes of the VN/game.

About Katawa Shoujo
Katawa Shoujo is a bishoujo-style visual novel set in the fictional Yamaku High School for disabled children, located somewhere in modern Japan. Hisao Nakai, a normal boy living a normal life, has his life turned upside down when a congenital heart defect forces him to move to a new school after a long hospitalization. Despite his difficulties, Hisao is able to find friends–and perhaps love, if he plays his cards right. There are five main paths corresponding to the 5 main female characters, each path following the storyline pertaining to that character.

The story is told through the perspective of the main character, using a first person narrative. The game uses a traditional text and sprite-based visual novel model with an ADV text box.

====================================================================================================================================================================
Katawa Shoujo will break your hart and rebuild it, that is if you have a hart to begin with.
Its 5 love stories intermingled with each story in that you will meet and talk to all 5 girls while playing each girls story.
(Each story is its own and you just get to talk to the other girls as each story progress, only 1 story has a possible cheating scene and its up to the player to decide about it.)
(Playing is not really what this is but it fits the best, its a Visual Novel with some game like components.)
Each story has choices you need to make so you get the good, bad and neutral endings, (not all stories have all 3.)
To get all CG's and unlock all entry's you need to finish all the girls stories for all endings then do the 1 guy story to fill in the rest of the entry's and CG's.

I will repeat you will cry if you have a hart, the music fits so well that its the first time I have left the music on while playing any game/VN including Sims games. (I even turn up the volume on some of them.)

There is sex in this VN but it fits with the story, there is an option to turn off adult content if you want to.

https://www.katawa-shoujo.com/about.php

I will post the walkthrough here because you will need it to finish the game/VN to 100%.
Play in the order I have listed which is the same order in the "Extra" - "Library".

Let me know what you think about this beautiful set of love stories. :lovestruc

Long time ago I actually tried to get into VN's and this was the one I decided to try out. Firstly because I saw random footages of it on YT, bc for some reason, after I watched anime called CLANNAD and it's second season (oh god, never again) YT decided to reccomend shit ton of VN playtroughs to me, especiallly this one. Ofc this is probably due to CLANNAD originating from VN itself.

Another reason I decided to pick it up... it's free! So I wanted to see what's so appealing about them and I decided to try out this one. And even though character interactions are genuinly entertaining and really nice, visuals being ok... I just couldn't get to enjoy it because of excruciatingly slow pacing.

Apparently, VN's are famous for that, and it's just, every detail, and me feeling like exploring and dating characters, having 'social' interactions with them and trying to go different routes... I can do that irl. Or I can just read a good book.
And if I want something more fast paced with equally good story, I can just read a manga or even better watch a good anime.

So yeah. VN's are not for me. That's not to say I enjoyed the start of it, but to me it became a bore after a while. That's why this is my first and last VN.

I'd say, the only VN I'd want to try out is Steins Gate, but I already watched the anime sooo... nah.

The earlier builds were not as good as the finish product and if you tried it before it was finish then I would recommend you try it again, VN are just like reading a book that also includes visual elements to.

Yeah I know... it's just. Too much of a time waste on my hands since I prefer different type of content from any media. I've grown more serious, so this isn't for me unless it teaches some morality, makes you think or puts forth some well thought out psychological war of internal philosophies. I'm... weird.

It does do some of that in a playful way for the most part.
Give it a try and follow the walkthrough for Emi's story and not only will it break your hart it will rebuild it back. :lovestruc

Oh gosh! I found this on a family computer one day several years ago and played it. I stopped about midway through my second playthrough because it just felt so, well, dirty. Found out later on I got some of the rarer scenes.

You probably got an alpha build of the game and yes it was more darker than the finish version, you should give the finish version a try for not only is it better the music fits it so well.
I still have not been able to play any other game now for 4 weeks.

It is now a very sweet set of 5 love stories in one.

I played the finished version.

I know because over the weekend I was able to have a conversation with the family member who downloaded it at the time. Thanks in part to being reminded of it by this thread.

Turns out

Emi is number 1 for me then its Lilly and next is Hanako with Rin then Shizune's.

Shizune is just to "over the top power wise". (The first time I played it it gave me tears of sorts but not now. Still a great story.)

I wish on the Lilly story he was not as disable as it is but... I don't know.... it seems he is so weak in a bad way, if he was weak in a better way it would have been better. (I still get tears in my eyes.)

There is nothing I would change with Hanako's story it just fits. (Still makes me cry.)

Rin, how I wish she was more understandable there at the end like she was in the beginning. Not the very end that was understandable its from about 60% to 90% that it was not making very much since to me.(Makes me cry.)

Emi's story is another one that just fits, every thing about the story and the music that was selected for it fits so well it still makes me cry when I replay it.

With Miso Soup being mention in the many times I just had to try it for my self.

When I was a kid back in the 1960's we went to Okinawa and this is one of the taste I remember from there, so I thought I would try to make it myself with this recipe "15-MINUTE MISO SOUP WITH GREENS AND TOFU" https://minimalistbaker.com/15-minu...reens-and-tofu/ and I loved it.

Anyone else have any other recipes or ingredients they would recommend for this great soup?

Quote:
Ingredients:
4 cups water
1/2 cup chopped green chard or other sturdy green
1/2 cup chopped green onion
1/4 cup firm tofu, cubed
3-4 Tbsp white miso paste (fermented soy bean paste) with or without bonito (fish flavor, though bonito makes it non vegan- vegetarian-friendly.)
optional: 1 sheet (1/4 cup) nori (dried seaweed), cut into large rectangles
Instructions:
Place water in a medium sauce pan and bring to a low simmer.
Add nori and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
In the meantime, place 3 Tbsp of miso into a small bowl, add a little hot water and whisk until smooth. This will ensure it doesn’t clump. Set aside.

Add green chard, green onion, and tofu to the pot and cook for 5 minutes. Then remove from heat, add miso mixture, and stir to combine.

Taste and add more miso or a pinch of sea salt if desired. Serve warm. Best when fresh.
