Default I´m planning to do an older Stoneage mod
Okay.
As you may have heard before, my great plan was to make several Stoneage Mod(s).
Maybe you can help me in the right direction, because I don´t actually know where to start.
Here´s the plan or list or whatever you call it:

Lichen and Moss Plant-Meshes
New Species Based On The Deer: Reindeer
Hunt For Food Mod
Craft Clothes
Craft Weapons And Tools
Bow And Arrow and Also Spears For Fishing
Nooses And Pitfalls
Clams And Seals
Needles
(Wild) Wolves

I don´t know if it´s correctly written, I was translating with Google Translate...
Maybe I edit this later, it´s 05:35 AM here...

I am not a modder and I have very limited knowledge of modding but I hope I can give you some ideas.

I would start small by finding ways to remove modern technology in the sims.

Make a large world with no roads, plenty of spawners and get rid of the cars.
Look at Arsil's no cellphone mod so sims stop using phones http://modthesims.info/t/562581
Sims who have the Computer Whiz trait spawn with laptops (I think) and with Seasons all sims spawn with parasols and umbrellas so maybe find a way to mod this out.
Be sure to take a look at skills sims use that change their outfits (like martial arts, snorkeling).
Maybe use a default replacement outfit for service sims (maid, burglar, butler etc.)
And disable some altogether like the repo man, the social-workers, magicians, singers, and acrobats.

Nraas Dresser can disable certain outfits from spawning on sims https://www.nraas.net/community/Dresser
but you need the base mod https://www.nraas.net/community/MasterController

Next I would think about how sims will take care of their basic needs.
A lot of good items can be found on blacky's sims zoo http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...rder=&entries=0
(You need an account to download from there. Sign up without using google translate on for it to work.)

For Bladder:
Men can use this mod from simlogical to pee anywhere outside http://www.simlogical.com/ContentUp...e/uploads/1836/
Here is a toilet bush by mammut http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=56167
and sink http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=56168
I also recommend these bladder tweaks for pets http://www.modthesims.info/d/525658...der-tweaks.html

For Hygiene:
lhawk07's Castaway set has a stone shower http://www.modthesims.info/d/458137...compatible.html
and many other stone based objects.

In the Sims 4 Seasons, sims can shower in the rain, maybe try adding that?

For Temperature:
If you have Seasons, remember that sims need to watch their temperature.

The Sims Asylum also has a mod that lowers temperature in pools and oceans and increases hygiene, which may be more realistic than using a rock shower and would add a bit more challenge (You also have to sign up to view and download things from here).

Here is a fire-pit where they can keep warm http://www.modthesims.info/d/458325...compatible.html
And seats that go well with it
https://www.thesimsresource.com/dow...rock/id/950680/

If you can, maybe make a stone hot tub that increases temperature when sims use it.

For Sleep:
Stone and log benches that sims can nap on
https://www.thesimsresource.com/dow...tree/id/950683/
http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=57720
http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=58241

Fur and stone tents
Needs Island Paradise http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=57757
Needs Island Paradise http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=56142
Fits four Sims, Needs World Adventures http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=58401

Beds
Double bed http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=58472
Single bed http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=58289

Sleep For Toddlers and Babies:
Log crib http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=57758
Around the sims 3 has a bunch of stone age items including a stone crib and tree crib, (but they are in sims 4 style so it might would look weird) https://aroundthesims3.com/objects/...wntown_53.shtml
With permission from Arsil, maybe you could re-mesh this toddler bed http://www.modthesims.info/d/593159/napping-mat.html

Sleep For Pets:
Hay bed http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=606039

Hunger:
This will be one of the most difficult parts to mod, seeing as you want to add hunting to the game.

Hunger For Pets:
This makes minor pets fill more hunger http://www.modthesims.info/d/526095...s-and-dogs.html

Hunger for Babies and Toddlers:
To keep the Stoneage theme, you might not want them to use bottles.
Nona Mena's Breastfeeding mod allows mothers (and fathers with tuning) to feed their babies. For an extra challenge, the mother can also lose hunger when they feed their children http://www.simlogical.com/ContentUp...e/uploads/1062/

Hunger for Toddlers:
This mod allows toddlers to eat snow http://www.modthesims.info/d/593434...activities.html
This mod lets toddlers eat from pet bowls Requires Pets http://www.modthesims.info/d/479364...teractions.html
Using these two mods you may be able to figure out how to make them eat other things.

In the Supernatural expansion pack, werewolf toddlers can "hunt". If you click on the ground, they will claw at it and pick up bugs. I don't remember if they can eat the bugs, but maybe you can make an interaction so that toddlers can pick up and eat bugs for the base game.
Other mods you might consider is allowing toddlers to eat fruits and produce, mermaid toddlers to eat fish, werewolf toddlers to eat raw meat and fish and vampire toddlers to eat plasma fruit.

Hunger for Children, Teens, Adults and Elders:

For Gardening, Gathering and Farming:
This mod lets children help garden http://www.modthesims.info/d/579548...can-series.html
Having an animated chicken that spawns eggs with an option to turn the chicken into roast would be cool like this item, but not cloned from a plant http://www.modthesims.info/d/526169/functional-hen.html
Or the store item but without the pen or "Charles the Evil Chicken" interactions. https://store.thesims3.com/productD...=OFB-SIM3:63713

Personally I think a mod to let all sims eat bugs would be good either raw or cooked on a fire-pit, however this should give them negative moodlets.

For Hunting:
Before you hunt:
First things first, this mod lets adults leave their home lots without needing a babysitter. http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=351547
And this mod so kids can help take care of their siblings http://www.modthesims.info/d/616566...l-siblings.html

Hunting:
For hunting the Pets expansion may help a lot. You can try to enable minor pets to be eaten raw (cats can do this already), but maybe you can try to cook them on a fire (like what you can do with fish and roast). Cats can hunt minor pets where they stalk for prey, then prey spawns, then they capture the prey. You can try to enable this for human sims and replace the animations or create your own hunting skill for major animals like deer. You probably don't need to make reindeer, just increase the number of deer spawned and after they are hunted try to make them drop steak.

The closest animation that looks like someone is throwing a spear would be the Foot-and-hand-ball object in game https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Foot-and-hand-ball
Maybe you can clone the animation and replace the object with a spear and replace the fishing animation/use the animation for hunting?

Bow and arrow from the store https://store.thesims3.com/productD...=OFB-SIM3:65648

This weapons mod allows you to hurt sims and "put down" pets and make people fall asleep http://www.modthesims.info/d/402950/weapons-system.html
Maybe you can use the base code to make a dart gun.

Dexter the bear mod might give you ideas on how to make another interaction (replace one of the objects with a stick?) https://www.nraas.net/community/Dexter-The-Bear

Pitfalls:
World Adventures has floor traps, maybe you can edit one of those to use as a pitfall.

Crafting:
I'm not sure what to do with crafting but the Inventors table from Ambitions or the Jewelry making table from the store may give you ideas https://store.thesims3.com/productD...=OFB-SIM3:71912

I'm not sure about everything else but here are my final thoughts-

*Start by building a Stoneage world so that it is easier to get immersed
-Add enough fishing areas, plant and plenty of spawners so that sims can live off the land
-Make your own meshes or get permission to add other people's meshes to your world
-Items like these will help build your world
http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=57898
http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=57708
http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=58160
http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=56186
http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=56448
http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=57781
http://simszoo.de/include.php?path=...contentid=57759
https://www.thesimsresource.com/dow...lab/id/1172990/
https://www.thesimsresource.com/dow...lab/id/1172991/
https://www.thesimsresource.com/dow...ing/id/1101362/

*Remove modern items/clothes on sims
-Maybe create a script mod to turn off modern things at city hall/the mailbox

*Find ways to take care of sims needs without modern items

*Allow sims to eat other things such as insects and minor pets

*Either enable hunting from the Pets expansion pack for humans or use it as a base for your own hunting mod

*If you can, use the animations from the foot-and-hand-ball as a base for spear hunting/ spear fishing, the bow and arrow from the store for other hunting animations and the weapons mods for hurting sims.

*Look at other mods and meshes to get inspired for your creations.

Just take it slow and start small, you may find it easier that way.
Good luck on your project!

Really interesting thread- I was also thinking of what general mods people would need for a pre-modern game:
