Default Dry Swimming Pool or the Lot That Has It
Hello, I came across this on someone's tumblr. I'd like to know where I can find it. I asked Brodo herself but she couldn't remember. She thought maybe it was a lot with the name "trailer" or "haven" and was originally from MTS. I didn't see anything like it by searching for lots with either of those terms, so maybe it's from some other site.

Here's a picture of the pool. I don't really care about the lot if I can just download the pool, but I'm fine with downloading the whole lot as well.

Thanks!

you could just make that without having to download the lot!

The pool looks like it's built on the lot, using stuff that's already in the game (except for the wall and floor covers). I haven't actually made one, but I can imagine it's very simple. Build a basement where you want the pool, line it with pool walls and a pool floor, and leave it open without a ceiling or floor cover above. Put some tiles around it, and place a pool ladder and a diving board on the sides (you may have to use Moveobjects). Tadah!

If you want the pool on the second floor, you'll have to build the pool walls on the first floor.

If you put stuff at the bottom, you probably have to turn "object hiding" off in graphic settings if you want to see the objects from the first floor.

The pool might even be somewhat useable, just like swimmable ponds. But be warned, they will look like they're swimming in thin air, and some sims love to walk around with the wave effect stuck to them after coming up on dry land. Probably best to fence it in if you don't want that to happen.

Those walls and the tile floor do come with the game. They're either in the base game or Uni, I can't remember. The walls are a bathroom tile and there's a clean version as well as the grimy one in the pic.

Yeah that's just a hole sunk in the ground and built in though someone did a nice job there. One 'issue' though - and it can be seen in the picture - is that the pool stuff is going to work and sims will dive off that diving board and swim around in mid air.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.
I'm here on tumblr and my site, tflc

Can you tell me, in excruciating detail please, how to build a pool on upper floors. I so want to build a pool on the roof! But I'm kind of slow, that's why I need the detailed details

This explanation was for an empty pool. I don't think I've built pools on upper floors before, but I know it's possible with a bit of trickery. I know there are some tutorials, but can't remember where I saw them. I've even seen people make water slides with pool elements (and one of the building cheats).

It's easier to make an empty pool on other floors - just build walls to make a closed room on a lower floor, and don't cover it on the upper floor. You'll probably also need some lights, or the pool-room will be very dark. Can also be used to make a wall-to-wall aquarium (with blue-tinted windows).

I found a couple of tutorials I'd like to experiment with these in my own game.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! (Twirls around with glee, stumbles and falls, because, in addition to being slow, is also clumsy and prone to run-on sentences). I have been wanting to build a rooftop pool ever since I started playing the sims 336 years ago. I've even dreamt about it! I can't wait; must go now and experiment. Thanks again! Yippee! Blessings on all your houses (I'm really kind of excited)

Thank you, everyone. I was hoping it was a deco item but I'll give the tutorials a try.

No problem! And thank you I just reinstalled, so I have to build all over again... I packaged up the few lots I had built myself, but for some reason I never found the sims2pack files (goddamn game. But I didn't have all the EPs before, so now I have more to work with, at least!)
