Default mods that work in Castaway Stories
@marka93

is there a List of Sims 2 mods that work in Castaway Stories?

If not can someone share what they know about the game when it comes to Mods?

This is what I am putting in the Downloads folder for Castaway Stories

TableDining_Tiki.SimsCSPack
stuckobjremover.package
Sim Blender.package
Sculpture_WishingPot.SimsCSPack
Sculpture_Wall_DriedFlowers.SimsCSPack
Painting_MaskTiki.SimsCSPack
ijTeleporterSeasons.package
ffsdebugger.package

So some questions do these work like I expect they will? Do the files with .SimsCSPack work as is?

Are there any other Mods that you know of and can recommend that will work?

for info on changing the Mac Open File Limit check out my post here http://www.insimenator.org/index.ph...html#msg1628939

Its more or less trial by error for mods and you must use Seasons mods to try.

Most defaults skins should work.
Some adult mods work.
Yes SimsCSPack work as they are by double clicking on them and installing them just like Sims2Packs.

Just remember to do the story first before adding mods in, the SimBlender will work in story mode but be careful with it, only use it for needs.

I am not able to install the SimsCSPack files as I don't have an installer for Castaway Stories and when I made The Simsâ„¢ 2: Package Installer open them it said that it installed them, but there are no new .package files in the Castaway Stories Downloads folder or in The Sims 2 Downloads folder or anywhere else on my Mac. If you could provide the files that the installer installs that would be nice otherwise I will just do without them.

Thanks for your help.

Sculpture_Wall_DriedFlowers.SimsCSPack
Painting_MaskTiki.SimsCSPack
I extracted the package files for you @lordtyger9 . If you can upload the tiki table, I'll extract that one too.

CS has its own installer and it should install them because it does for me on many different OP, I have not tried in windows 10 yet though.

If you have Sims 2 you can change them to look just like Sims 2 pack are and they will install into Sims 2 and you can just transfer them over to CS.

Thanks @marka93 !

I extracted the SimsCSPack files using Sims2Pack Clean Installer, but the game installer or Delphy's multi installer would probably have done the same. Remember that using the game installer will put items in the teleport folder first, and import to the game when you launch.

I play on an iMac, I don't know if Aspyr has a Installed for Castaway Stories, I do know that I tried the Mac's default game installer and it didn't seem to work. It said that worked, but when I did a search of my Mac the .package file was no where to be found. That is why I wrote about not being able to install SimsCSPack files. I have no idea why the Mac's default installer does not work and I used a search untility to search every where on my Mac.

No worries, you have them all now though, I think. Just check your userdata to see if a teleport folder was created; if so, delete the contents as you don't really want the Castaway items in your game.

Ahhh, I think you must be correct as after I looked in the Teleport Folder for sims 2, I find a file with this name 2e3db09caae64bb996f10d0b786459b9_0001.Sims2Import and another one like it and a file with this name 2e3db09caae64bb996f10d0b786459b9_0001.Sims2Tmp and another one like that. Very Annoying, thanks for the heads up.

I took care of it. Now I know though.

I finished the game I was on, everything was fine once I figured out a bit about where the portals were.

Good news is the Sim Blender worked pretty well, I was careful with it though. Also the stuckobjectremover worked great. Also ijTeleporterSeasons worked fine and I was careful about the bat box, but it worked as well.

Now if I can just figure out what other mods I want to try.

Any Suggestions?

Just remember that not all mods will work because CS uses a cut down version of Seasons EP and with that the sky is the limit, even teen woohoo mods work using the Seasons ones.

Just try ones you like and if they work your good to go.

Hello, sorry if it is out of content, but what does the "Stories Games Get Cool Stuff" do? I checked it on that forum page and its' files, but idk what those mean... Are they just regular objects or enhanced objects? How do the look like ingame?

They are extra objects for the Stories games (Castaway, Pets and Lifestories) that you could download from the Sims 2 website.

Default MOds
I did a little messing around and I came to find out that Quite a few mods from Sims 2 ultimate collection also work for cast away stories. They also go in the same place, Downloads inside documents. Hope it helps you just have to find the right site. I have also been looking for ways to mod sims medieval which Has been difficult. I have only found sliders for body parts but you can make a thick queen lmao
