No Sims 3 folder in Documents - could it be somewhere else?
I have The Sims 3 + some expansions on Mac OS Lion. Mods stopped working for me sometime around the beginning of the year, when I loaded the game and found everything had been wiped. That was a bummer, but I moved on. Still couldn't get the mods to work, though. I've just started really playing again so I have been trying to solve the problem, because I find the game mostly unplayable without a few specific mods.
I got the idea to just delete my Sims 3 folder (I moved it to an external HD) from documents and let the game generate a new one and start from scratch. However, when I start the game, everything is still there. It occurred to me to look at the files in the folder I had moved off my computer, and sure enough, nothing had been saved after January 6th, even though I took screenshots as recently as last night.
So, I've come to the conclusion that the game generated a new Sims 3 folder somewhere else, but I can't find it ANYWHERE. Searching my computer brings up no results. I'm totally stumped, and I really don't want to uninstall/reinstall everything, especially because I don't think I even have the discs for some of the earlier expansions anymore.
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here?
