Default This particular hair...
I'm trying to find a male hairstyle that's long, about elbow-length, and covering one eye. If anyone can point me in the right direction, that'd be great.

Thank you, but none of these are meeting my standards. I specifically asked for hair that covers one eye, and only two of these hairs do that. Also, they all have that weird, shiny texture to them. Still, I appreciate your willingness to help me.

If you want hair which covers one eye, here is one for you http://kijiko-catfood.com/verte-for-male/ but I didn't find other hair which are long enough... sorry.

Have you looked for retextures of the ones you do like of that list?

It *almost* covers one eye but if you shift the sim's face with the face (or eye) height slider then you will achieve the effect.

How do I go about doing that?

Just google search the name of the hair and add the word retexture. For example, if I wanted to find a retexture of Newsea's Daisy hair, I would search 'sims 3 newsea daisy retexture'. You can also tack on the word 'tumblr', since that's where most creators post their content.
