What do you do with your vampires?
What do you do with your vamps since they live sooooooo long?At the moment I thought it'd be fun to try and get them to amass as many skills as possible, and sleep around a lot.

I got one who acts as a kind of 'guardian' to a family line. He was 'enslaved' to my legacy founder, and since he died, my vampire kept an eye on his daughter for him after he fell for her, but he was rejected and now he's keeping watch on the grandson out of a sense of loyalty and familiarity. He wouldn't know what to do with himself without that family now.
(Yes, I make up stories in my head for my Sims. I don't care if that makes me sad. XD)

It doesn't! The game would be boring with stories!
[edit] I've never actually just played a vampire through... I played around with them when the EP came out, and had a couple that I used as my active family, but really only to test out their capabilities. I do like them being in my towns though, it adds a nice flavor as long as they aren't overrunning the place.

Kill them... kill them with fire. Or if that doesn't work, leave the blinds open.

Spread the blood lust of course.
Spend the nights pumping up the skills, and moonlighting at bars.

depends on the vampire, really.
usually my adult/YA vamps are too busy doing everything i want them to (never-ending list), so the elders raise the children once theyve been popped. its something of a group effort to run a large household of vampires.

I haven't had a vampire yet, but I would like to start a vampire band, the leader would be a vampire, the rest can be common folks. Sims live so short, 100 days (with normal setting + generation tweeks), that making a band where everybody is mortal might be too short time. But if one would be vampire, then there will be more time to explore the band aspect of the game.
But, currently I still have nobody who would like to start a band so it's still just a thing on my wish list.

I've done that ani_ with normal sims in the background and other occult.. so I'd have a simbot on the keyboard, a ghost on the base and a *cough*werewolf*cough* on the drums...
I've currently just startd a kind of legacy thing with the main guy being a vampire his first born is a YA vamp, but the 5 kids he had with his current normal wife aren't (I tweaked the likleyhood of vamp sprog to be less with Nrass SP). So hopefully the vamps will be able to look over the family as it grows... I have a female vampire planned as a child of one of the normal daughters...
I like to play the vampires as if it vampirism is inherited as a recessive trait and two need to come together to create a new vampire whether the parents are homozygous or hetero.. wait, I'll need to add another vamp on the daddy's side.. I may nick William Fangmann from Bridgeport :p#
I don't do vampire bars, I just allow vampires on all the barrier ropes, it just seems less obvious and more secretive that way. I hate the fact that regular sims know about them.

I don't have any vamps, and made sure I had Twallans sp and mastercontroller before even playing my game with the vamp expansion. But I do intend to turn few of the townsfolk into vamps soon though. But their population will be strictly controlled.
But right now I am having too much fun playing with my vanilla human family and my evil cackling simbot.

I don't really play with the "monsters" much. I don't think I've ever seen a Mummy in my game, outside that one in the Egyptian tomb. I did make a Simbot but didn't end up playing that family for very long. I never played with the aliens in TS2, etc...
Though I do have a vampire bar in my current neighborhood and all the staff that work there are vampires, but as far as I know, there aren't any other vamps in town and since service sims can't reproduce in my game, chances of any more are pretty slim.

Maxis never forced players to deal with mutants, in The Sims and The Sims 2. I have never seen a vampire in The Sims 2. And that was good. It is sad, that I have to use mods to get rid of vamps, because EA never gave us a way to "don't deal with them".

There were the grand vampires in Sims 2, and if you let one person get turned then your entire neighbourhood was turned. Things are much more controlled in Sims 3.

That's exactly what I am doing. Plus they're 5 star celebs (I have 3 - 1 celeb stylist single girl and the other a celeb couple - she's a painter and he's a musician) so they're party animals LOL

I don't have a vamp in my current save... but I was considering turning one of my spare children (that sounds wrong to type... non-heir child) into a vampire to have a good skill set so I don't have to re-level someone with handiness/cooking/gardening every generation.

Mod them. Mod them to the EXTREEEEME.
Mod them so they don't spread like a deadly virus through the unwashed masses of Europe. Like celebrities, I don't think becoming a vampire should be so easy, or that in a matter of days they've turned a city into Wish-universe Sunnydale.
I also try to have them modded so they live forever, will die in sunlight, can feed off sims without consent, and can drain sims to death. I think I have these mods. They could have only been for Sims 2 though...
Yeah, I don't play vampires too often.
After modding came skill leveling, breeding with select sims, turning said sims, living together in the sewers and in abandoned buildings. You know, all the good stuff.

brillo_pad, Here is the list of vampire mods I know of. I doubt I found all of them though.
I copied and pasted the summaries of each mod in the spoiler section.
Mod The Sims Vampire Mods:
Vampire Killer Attack Interaction:
Vampire Raids - No More Police!:
Autonomous Vampires:
sHoNi's Vampire Overhaul:
Here's what this mod changes/edits (FULL Version):
No neck tattoo/bite sign EVER.
No "V" when a Vampire sleeps on a regular bed.
During Bar Brawls, Vampires are much more advantaged than other Sims.
Vampires can bite everyone whose LTR is >=0 (you cannot bite enemies and such) WITHOUT asking.
Vampire bite animation is now slightly different than default:
- always at wrist of non-lovers
- always neck bite if the victim is potentially attracted by the vampire (you will notice this if you perform ANY flirt interaction on the victim and the interaction gets accepted -- it is more likely to happen if the victim is single, has a good mood or has traits like "Flirty", "Hopeless Romantic", "Crazy", "Party Animal", "Charismatic" etc. it can happen even if LTR is 0 -- be careful not to have got some aspiration rewards like "Seduction Master" or such, because the neck bite is a romantic interaction, and if you DO got this AR, any victim will accept your neck bite): it bothers me that I seduce my victim and then I bite on the wrist just because I didn't confess my love first/haven't kissed the victim before.
Every NPC Vampire has now only 2 Plasma Fruits in his/her inventory: that encourages biting other Sims rather than eating just fruits.
"Make Sim think of Me" power now grants 20 LTR bonus rather than 10.
Thirst decay is MUCH slower now. It requires 2-3 days to become empty. If you also buy the "Hardly Hungry" aspiration reward, your vampire will only need to feed once a week.
More than that, if your Vampire's thirst bar is at least by 2/3 full, he/she will be ableto walk under the sunlight without negative moodlets/being harmed. Thirsty vampires are weakened and suffer when under the sun.
NPC Vampires (and your own vampires too if free will is activated) can now use their powers (read mind and make sim think of me) at their will. They will especially use them whenever their fun or social need is low.
Victims cannot offer their plasma again within 2 days rather than 1.
Plasma Juice fulfills now much less the thirst motive (it's a snack after all and FREE!) so hunting (or planting) is encouraged.
Vampires are now IMMORTAL as for their age (it says 0). As soon as they reach the young adult stage they won't age any further. Make them age them with a birthday cake if you must.
After 30 seconds under the sun they will receive the "Heating up" moodlet that'll last for 90 Sim-Minutes (seconds).
The "Too much Sun" negative moodlet now lasts only one day but provides a -100 mood value and a quicker thirst decay for that day.
The "Sanguine Snack" moodlet is now enhanced and blocks the thirst bar for 36 hours.
Vampire Altar now replenishes Vampires Energy bar slightly slower but, in return, it totally blocks all other motives (except from Thirst) I do not like other motives being raised by just sleeping so I just blocked them, à la Nightlife Coffins.
Instructions for Split Versions
Due to popular request, I have split my mod into several small packages but still mantained the FULL version containing all of them for those who want. Please, be careful NOT to use the split versions along with the FULL version. You decide. Here's an explanation of the various versions:
- sHoNi's_Vampire_Overhaul_Altar: it changes just the Altar, so that it freezes other motives when sleeping apart from thirst.
- sHoNi's_Vampire_Overhaul_Bite: it contains just the bite changes like I explained earlier in the post, same tuning as FULL version.
- sHoNi's_Vampire_Overhaul_Bite_Always_Neck: same as "Bite" version, just always at the neck, no matter what.
- sHoNi's_Vampire_Overhaul_Buffs: contains just the moodlet/buffs changes, like (but not only) sanguine snack and too much sun edits.
- sHoNi's_Vampire_Overhaul_FULL: Full updated version. Do not use it with other Vampire Mods as it will conflict 99%.
- sHoNi's_Vampire_Overhaul_Immortality: contains only the Immortality for Vampires.
- sHoNi's_Vampire_Overhaul_Minor_Things: here are only some minor things, like more chance to win a brawl for vamps, less fruits for NPC inventories and less thirst gain from drinking the plasma juice.
- sHoNi's_Vampire_Overhaul_No_Tattoo: No neck tattoo/sign on Vamps. Must delete your cache first in order to work.
- sHoNi's_Vampire_Overhaul_No_V: No "V" when sleeping on a regular bed for Vamps.
- sHoNi's_Vampire_Overhaul_NPC_Powers: NPC Vampires can use their mental powers at will, especially if fun or social need is low.
- sHoNi's_Vampire_Overhaul_Thirst: Much slower decay for thirst motive (2-3 days to become empty) and even slower if "Hardly Hungry" aspiration reward is bought. Vamps can walk under the sun freely if thirst bar is at least by 2/3 full.
- sHoNi's_Vampire_Overhaul_Immortality_NoCASAgeStagger: Immortality with Compatible version for No Cas Age Stagger mod. Do not use this in conjuction with FULL mod or "Immortality" version (it alredy contains this feature).
- shoni89P
Vampire "Bed" Now Raise Motives!:
Physicals: Energy, Bladder, Hygiene
Mentals: Social and Fun
Altar: Raising all motives. Physicals - Speed 2, Mentals - Speed 1. Vampires will sleep longer.
Altar Fast: Physicals - Speed 3, Mentals - Speed 3. Vampires will sleep normaly.
Altar Slow: Raising all motives. Physicals - Speed 1, Mentals - Speed 1. Vampires will sleep much longer.
Realistic: Raising Energy and Bladder. Vampires do not pee!
Physicals - Speed 2. Vampires will sleep longer.
Realistic Fast: Raising Energy and Bladder. Physicals - Speed 3. Vampires will sleep normaly.
Realistic Slow: Raising Energy and Bladder. Physicals - Speed 1. Vampires will sleep much longer.
- Tremerion
No More Random Puking:
No Vampire Neck Tattoo:
More Dangerous Sun For Vampires & More:
More or Less Vampires Days.:
Dear Vampires, drink from everyone!:
Your Vampire can now drink from strangers without the negative reaction of them. You must just say hello to them or just click on them and Drink after hunt. They will not reject your action.
You will see Pluses over they heads after drinking and information that your vampire is flirting. Don't worry about it. There is no positive influence on they relation. And Vampire everytime will drink from neck. Don't you think that drinking from wrist can end with serious bleeding?
XML file used: Socializing and SocializingTuning.
Versions:
Use only one!
Generations version: Contains two files: Drink from everyone - always neck bite drinking; +Ask to turn - also with always neck bite turning -> Use only with Generations!
- Tremerion
XML Story Progression: No Vampires, 3 flavours (No Celeb also):
This mods EA's XML story progression. The generating of Vampires is turned off, so your fav 'townie', 'inactive', 'resident', call them what you will, won't be chosen by the AI to turn into a vampire at 1 am or thereabouts. Vampirism itself is not disabled in any way, the vampires in Bridgeport when you start a new game are still there. You can still play a vampire in Sunset Valley or anywhere you want and turn other sims to vampires. (File named XMLSPNoVampires.)
In a 2nd flavour emigration is also turned off, so townie households will not simply move out of town. These are the ones you read about in the newspaper, maybe they were your favorite neighbors and they simply disappear, gone forever. This should never have been implemented in the game IMO, so I have removed it. (File named XMLSPNoVampsNoEmigration.)
The 3rd flavour includes the following in addition to the above: The option for townie households to Move to a Smaller House is removed, moving to a larger house is still allowed. I have made this change to prevent the situation, happening quite frequently, where some children grow up and move away from their parents, or a spouse dies, the owner of the house for many years is forced by the AI to move to a smaller house because they happen to be alone. I want this single sim or couple to stay in their big house regardless of the moving away of family members. This reduces also the general amount of moving from house to house, which is too frequent for my taste (File named XMLSPNoVampsNoEmigrationNoMove).
There are 3 different .rar files here, these are the 3 flavours. However, inside each .rar file are 3 .package files. This is because Twinbrook Demographics and Bridgeport Demographics are separate XML resources, so each of these I've placed separately in it's own .package; reason being that you can install the large file, which applies to SunsetV, Riverview, CaW worlds, the vacation worlds. If you choose not to install the Twinbrook or the Bridgeport file for example, this world will be default EA with vampire generating; you can use this world as your vampire world and the others are vampire free. You can also of course use the Bridge or Twinbrook files, and not use the large file, in which case CaW worlds, SunsetV and Riverview will be default EA with vamp generating. No need to move my mod in and out of your Mods\Packages if you sometimes want to play with vamps, and sometimes you don't.

Tremerion's Vampire Mods at 4shared:
No Vampire Juice in the Fridge:

Vampire Raids No Police:
Vampire Hunt Faster:
TremVampireWorks:
I copied and pasted the summaries of each mod in the spoiler section.
Mod The Sims Vampire Mods:
Vampire Killer Attack Interaction:
Has 3 additional options, "Deadly Attack", "Deadly Charm" and "Charm"
- EnireiVampire Raids - No More Police!:
For those who don't know what happen when vampire is arrested: Vampire will dissapear! It means GONE! So if you think turning off the police coming is making game too easy, yeah it can be too easy, but it is much more important to get rid off this EA's stupid thing.
Flavours:
VampireRaid_PolicePossibility:
VampireRaids_NoPolice00 - Police will never arrive.
VampireRaid_Police50 - 50% chances that police will arive.
VampireRaid_Police75 - 75% chances that police will arive.
VampireRaid_Police100 - Police will always arrive.
VampireRaids_PoliceTimes: Raid lasts 1 hour. Changes in time of police coming. (normaly 15-30 minutes)
VampireRaids_Time10-20 - If bust change will be met, police will arive beetwen 10 to 20 minutes.
VampireRaids_Time20-40 - If bust change will be met, police will arive beetwen 20 to 40 minutes.
VampireRaids_Time40-60 - If bust change will be met, police will arive beetwen 40 to 60 minutes.

Autonomous Vampires:
As the Vampires are NPC, they will choose random their actions.
If they want to do an ability, thet will: but as they have an own will: it can be random generated.
But they do! I tought it was really missing!
The Vampires that do'nt use their own abilities, that was really strange for me.
So be Prepared for the evil vampires, which will use their abilities!
Maybe the Moodlet has finally a real good reason to appears...
* New Version: Compatible to sHoNi's Vampire Overhaul.
* Vampires will now go and bite autonomous, real this time.
As by my fault, i accidently added a plasmafruit number of 10 each night for the npc's every night to the script, i deleted it! From now on the vampires will drink more from sims: instead of eating there limitless fruit.

No More Random Puking:
This mod disables the retch reaction entirely for all age levels. (I highly doubt there will be a demand for it, but upon request I'm willing to make variations of this mod that only effect certain age levels.)
Note: Having the retch reaction disabled does not affect the nauseous moodlet; sims will react as they always have when this moodlet is active (i.e. pregnancy, spoiled food, floor hygienator, etc.) The retch reaction is a new to LN reaction that is mainly invoked by vampires that have the "Too Much Sun" moodlet, or in my experience, every NPC vampire in my town since they won't stay out of the sun.

No Vampire Neck Tattoo:
This mod is a very simple texture replacer that removes the strange neck tattoo/rebirthmark from the necks of vampires. No idea why it was there in the first place, but this gets rid of it.
This default-replaces the DDS textures used to apply the tattoo, so it probably won't impact performance any (for good or bad) - it also won't conflict with anything else. It's not a "real" mod.

More Dangerous Sun For Vampires & More:
Too much sun moodlet will set your vampires on fire. But they can't extinguish themselfs. So they will die and turn into ash. I will see what I can do with it. To use that download: VampireMoodOnFire. Heating Up will appear after 1 hour and after next 1 hour vampire will pass out and burn. Fire will stay for 2 hours. All other flavours are still the same.
As ChrisOldfield suggested tht NPC vampires could die faster under sun so here is the update on it. Less falling of thirst under too much sun moodlet. Also longer Heating Up moodlet time. Start after 10 minutes, ends after 1 hour.
Too much sun: In each mod version change from -150 to -80. Only Twilight version stays the same for obvious reasons.
Changed reaction to Scared and ThrowUp only if normal sim will see a vampire lying on the ground and burning/smoking
Heating Up: from -50 to -40
Changed reaction to Scared only if normal sim will see a vampire smoking on the sun.
No longer lauging from burning vampires
Changed mood value for Weakened. Now sims will get -25 mood. And "blood" regeneration will take 2 days not 22 hours. Anyway, who likes to be a vampire's prey?
This mod improve vampire moodlets. The negative and positive.
Now your vampire must beware the sun much more!
In EA's standard vampire can be in sun for 4 hours. After 1 hour he/she gets Heating Up moodlet and after 3 hours vampire lose all powers and suffer a little. This Too Much Sun moodlet last for 2 days. Now vampire will get Heating Up after 10 minutes!
Versions:

Vampire Mood: Changes listed above with pictures.
VampireMood_NormalMood: No changes in mood values. Everything else the same like in VampireMood.
VampireMood_Sun_NoThirst: No changes in decay of thirst.
Everything else the same like in VampireMood.
VampireMood_Twilight: Heating Up will appear after 24 hours. Sun doesn't shine for that long Now vampire will not smoke anymore. Everything else the same like in VampireMood.

It will delete the option fro plasma juice in the fridge. Also it will delete it from raid in hospital. Your vampire will be teleported back to home.
- TremerionVampirism cannot be cured:
This will make vampire cure potion to cost 0 simoleons and no one can drink it. So you can buy it to see how it looks. But vampirism is to be undead, how the hell you can become alive again
- TremerionVampire Raids No Police:
This will turn off the possibility of dissapearing of your vampire if he/she gets busted. For unkown reasons EA's made this that way. Just stupid
- TremerionVampire Hunt Faster:
Vampire when hunt will thow away sims for every 1 minute (normaly it is 3 minutes). This will make hunt much faster
- TremerionTremVampireWorks:
Package of 11 night careers for vampires. Copy of base game careers. Languages: English and Polish. All other languages will see English

Autonomous Vampire Mods: (Has teen version)
List of what each mod does, so that you will know which ones you wish to use in your game:
OccultVampire_Tweaks: Edited so that vampires will drink from and offer to turn sims even if around several other sims that aren't vampires.
Vampire_ITUN_Tweaks: Edited to make it autonomous, gain fun and/or social and allow teen vampires (if you have any) to drink from other sims and/or to turn them and to hunt them. These are what will have your vampires (active and non-active) reading other sims minds, making other sims think of them and also to perform hunts. Even though the vampires will hunt (and gain fun), they won't drink from the sims they've targeted normally. I have seen them autonomously drink from sims, sometimes, but I'm not sure or can verify that any of those events happened after a hunt.
Vampire_Socializing_Tweaks (2 Versions): Edited to make "Vampire Drink", "Vampire Offer To Turn" and "Ask To Turn" to be autonomous.
Vampire_Socializing_Tuning_Tweaks (2 Versions): Edited the Liking Values for "Vampire Drink", "Vampire Offer To Turn" and "Ask To Turn" so that it may be possible for vampires to do these actions with more sims and not be so dependent on whether or not they like the sims.
Social Data EP 3 Vampire Tweaks (for Generations only): same purpose for editing as listed for Socializing above.

Vampire Altars Replenish Energy, Bladder and Hygiene:
I made this mod to replenish not only the energy, but also the bladder and hygiene bars for the Vampires that sleep on them. I tried testing this with the Thirst motive added and it wouldn't work for that need and besides, they can eat after they wake up, just like in the movies. :giggle2: Their fun and social needs can be fulfilled after they wake up, too.
For the energy setting, EA default had it at 30, but I raised that to 100. Your Vampires should be able to get by with less sleep, which means they have time during the day to do other things. But they will still need to sleep again before night fall to make sure they can play all night, when they are stronger. I added in the Bladder and Hygiene parts and set them to 100, also.

Obsolete Stop Puking When Around Vampires:
made a mod that stops all sims from vomiting/puking when they are near a vampire sim. Tanja1986 explained that if you take the puking part out of the reactions that sims will have when near a vampire sim who has the Too Much Sun buff, then you wouldn't see the sims vomiting all over the place in your game. This was tested by me and definitely works.
Since I haven't seen (at the places I normally go to) a mod that was made for this, yet, I decided to go ahead and create it so that people can stop this annoyance from happening in their game.
This mod edits the BuffTooMuchSun XML file and any other mod that edits this same file will not be compatible.

Daywalkers v2:
This mod allows Vampires to be outside during the day without burning. They will still only have their vampiric gifts at night, but will be able to be outside during the day without getting the Too Much Sun moodlet and passing out.

Not much.. Though I did see one one rush past my sim one early morning and then turn to dust in the sun.. Was quite amusing.. Silly vampire sun are for the regular sims..
I didn't realize it was a vampire. As I was looking at the speed this particular town sim was running at and was thinking now isn't that interesting.. Wait that is.. Ooopps.. I guess he shouldn't have had that last one for the road.. LMAO.
