The best way I do business is several ways. My first way is to use max motives all the time. If your visitors and employees are in a good mood you will make much better business. Also, I dont let anyone of my employees do sales. This is for they always screw up. I make my playable sim or the manager do it. I use a hack to have no customers complain. It works out very well.

hmm i dont know but i think it will be boring if you use a hack or cheat for the whole time! I have a very small shop in one of my houses and there are not so many articles to sold so i decide to sold the windows and lamps too! (=

I honesty don't know why many ppl demand maxmotives just so they can run a business. Its really isn't hard, all you need to do is begin work in a good mood, and you can open up your business anytime you like, even at 3 in the morning if you want, there is no set time.

Lots of snapdragons which are decorating the lot, and not marked for sale! Not quite as effective as MaxMotives, but it isn't a cheat either.

I am Ghost. My husband (who made the account because I was too shy) is sidneydoj. I post, he downloads, and I wanted to keep my post count.

Hehe, ultimatelegend5 likes to get good value from the employees! But seriously, I've found that breaks are a complete waste of time- the employee inevetably spends half an hour playing video games when they are starving or something, then when you send them back to work they are still low on motives. I've found the most effective method to be to work them until they are low, then send them home.

I will choose a path that's clear- I will choose free will

Snapdragons need a gold flower badge, but that is fairly easy to get. Creativity probably contributes, but as soon as you put a musical instrument or an easel in the house everyone fights over creativity building so almost all of my sims have creativity of 8 or higher. (Including my latest hyper-active toddler!)

Yeah, thats what i say. It is worthless. When i put them on breaks they quit. Yup, say they cant take it anymore and just walk out.

I don't know if it counts as cheat, but if a customer is going to complain, I cancel the interaction. Ah, if it was that easy in real business...

That's not a cheat. That's just ignoring the problem until it goes away.

Start your business with enough aspiration and reward points to place and use Energizers (you don't need a hack to place and use them on your owned business lots).

Have your first business deal in items from the point-of-purchase racks (magazines, groceries, clothes, video games, pets etc.).

ONE employee -- preferably one with a register talent badge -- is enough to get you to level 10 in retail businesses.

Like ultimatelegend5 says, have your playable sims (pref. the business owner her/himself) handle sales socials -- and stick with Basic Sell most of the time (Hard Sell works well if you are selling to a friend).

Use sales socials (if you are confident they will work) even if the customer would make the purchase without it, as accepted sales socials raise Customer Loyalty and your Sales talent badge level.

Put your first two Perk points into the Connections track (for Notable/Sterling Reputation) as the relationship boost makes a lot of difference in the acceptance of sales socials (with Sterling Reputation, even a simple Joke to a customer -- which works most of the time -- gives enough relationship points to a stranger Sim to make Basic Sell acceptance likely).

I, personally, find it easiest to try to build up my businesses in as few game sessions as possible.

Well, I don't use hacks, but I use the maxmotives cheat a lot. It just means your workers can keep working without ever needing a break XD. Just keeping the shop open for days and days and days... :P. Other than that, it's easier to get the perks and badges by running some simple resale shop (any type you want) and change it into the shop you really want when you're satisfied with the perks and badges.

A home ticket business where they come to hang out at your house and pay you to monopolize your poker table and hot tub doesn't need any employees at all. Build the perks you need for later while it is basically free. (You can also get a group over for a timed outing or a date at your house, and make them pay by the hour to stay. I have never had anyone decide not to buy a ticket if they were in my group. But then you need to be extra sure they all have a good time, or you will lose customer loyalty instead of gaining it. DO NOT grant them free entry! It can never be revoked!)

I use maxmotives aswell, the easiest is an electrics store, my electrics store is rank 7 at the moment but something could go wrong anytime. The best thing is that all you have to do is make sales, keep the stuff in stock and put somebody at a till. I also ignore the complainers lol if they continue to complain tell them to leave.

One of my Sims families had a home florest business that was not going well.
I noted that all the customers kept going into the yard and working out on the Treadmill.

I deleated the florest building, stood down the two employees and added extra treadmills as the family could afford them -6 in all - in the space the florest had occupied. It was a great success. All the was required were the Treadmills and a ticket machine, no employees needed. I did build a toilet and shower in the back yard. The business was never closed, so customers came day and night. My sims socialised with the customers of their own free will.

The family made enought money to purchase a larger house. I now use the same method if my sims are running low on money

i always use the inseminator hacks for business. whether its to get my townie employees gold badges, or keep everyone's mood perfect. i like it that way, so i don't have to ever worry about building bathrooms, giving breaks or getting tired.

I've only made one business so far, and that was before I had to restart my game on a new drive. It was a bakery that started off as a home business and turned into a nice little community lot (on the community lot, it had a small, outdoor cafe, as well). I had the employees take care of the basic work on the floor (I found that Benjamin Long was fantastic at sales and only failed if the customer was in a spectacularly bad mood), including sales, restocking, and cashier. And then I just kept the owner baking cakes and such. It had a small little breakroom connected to the kitchen with some couches, a tv, and an employee bathroom, so whenever I put them on break, they did a good job of refreshing their needs. Lots of snapdragons were in the areas necessary to keep needs up, and there was a small apartment upstairs for the owner to go sleep whenever she was particularly drained. Got to rank 10 pretty quickly with that setup, and everyone in town had an aubundance of baked goods in their inventories for whenever they needed it.

I used to have a business of all vampires, owners and employees. It worked put great! But when I have a normal business, usually I'm only open for about 4 hours, then I go home. The moods drop so fast! I think I'll try the snap dragon thing...
