...are we supposed to be able to see these? I'm hoping this isn't another one of those nvidia issues I can't see ants in the ant farm and I can't see any bugs in my sim's bug box. Is there anyone that can see them? And if so, can you see your fish too?

I can see ants, bugs in the bug box and fish. I also have a nVidia graphics card/drivers.

I have a Ge-force 8500 and my husband has the 7300 and we can both see bugs and ants and fish, so I don't thinkit's an NVIDIA specific issue. It does however take the ants about five real-life minutes to appear for me after the first time my sims look at a new ant farm. The bugs and fish are there right away though. Hope this helps! Edit: We both have the most up to date NVIDIA drivers...no clue what number.

I have a NVidia GeForce FX 5200 and I can't see the bugs, fish or ants. But I think my problem is I need a better graphics card.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I thought the blue screen issue was a problem for all nvidia cards, but obviously there must be other factors involved. I got fish back during Seasons but once BV came out it was broken again and I've never been able to find a fix for it, I was hoping it would be fixed again in FT but looks like "useShaders false" is still my best friend

I have the same card and I can see the bugs and ants

Regular fish (in ponds and aquariums) I can't see, I haven't tried the new koi pond yet.

If wishes were fishes we'd all cast nets

Well, I have a NVIDIA Geforce Go 6150. I can see fish, haven't seen the bugs, but that's because I wasn't looking with my Sim at the time, so maybe I can. But I can see the bees when he got chased. Can't see the birds. I could always see the fish in the ponds and aquariums.

I too have the same card and I can see the fish in the aquarium and the koi in the koi pond. I can't see the ants in the ant farm. I used to be able to see the fish in the ponds but they don't appear anymore. Don't see any bugs either.

I'll let my ant farm go for a while and see if they appear.

When looking at the bugs, are you able to see them just from putting the bug box on the wall and then zooming in on it, or do you have to view it with your sim? I've only tried with one sim so far and I couldn't get her to view it, the action kept dropping out of the queue.

... And more interestingly, if you put bug box on wall, can you still add to it? And what happens when you've caught 'em all?

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is going to work for you, but after seeing this thread I checked my game and realized that my bugs were missing too! Then I unpaused my game, thinking to myself 'oh well might as well just continue playing' and tada! the bugs suddenly appeared! Somehow, I can't see them when my game is paused or in build/buy mode...but they materialize when I'm playing lol. I'm using an nvdia 6600 btw. Hope you resolve your game issues soon

Nobody can see the birds - they showed 'em in the prerelease screenshots and then took them out for release as apparently they wouldn't work right. Bah!

How can you find out what graphics card you have?

Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Information. Then click Hardware Resources and click on Conflicts/Sharing.

There may be an easier way but this is the way I know

I couldnt see the ants at first, but after a day I could... but then I had my little girl shake the ant farm, and then I couldnt see the ants. but next day I could, so I am taking it as you have to let the ants get the tunnels made before you can see them. I did this for a week straight in the game and it happened the same way every time.

FrootLoop - I have had a very weird not-quite-bluescreen-issue on the GeForce 7600GS. Interestingly, 'useShaders false' never resolved it in BV. Then installed FT & thought all was perfect until the same thing started happening yesterday 'useShaders false' is now my friend as well.

I noticed a few people have mentioned the bug box - if you zoom in on it, you should be able to see the bugs that the sim has caught. The 'view' option then opens up a screen showing exactly which, and how many, bugs have been caught...I think there are about 30 to collect overall. The bugs are placed automatically, regardless of where the box is placed. Don't know what happens when you catch them all!

At least "useshaders false" is working for you now. I know it's not ideal but it's better than not being able to play at all My bluescreen issue was never really blue screen either, more of a "black screen with 'no signal'" issue I do feel as though EA and nvidia have pretty much forgotten us though. The last I heard was they were both working together on a solution, but that was months ago

I'll have to try harder to get a sim to view their collection

Does that mean that this: IRQ 16 Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family is my graphics card?

Also, I think the bugs are only meant to be visible in the box. You don't see them on the ground or anything. You can see bees when they attack your sim, but you never see spiders or beetles that end up in the bug box.

My sims gaming journal. Not very informative.

Yeah. That's a onboard graphic card... well, it isn't exactly meant to play games.
