Oh good old Mrs.Crumplebottom.... The memories *daydreams* lol, that would be HORRIBLE if Mrs. Crumplebottom was the landlady....

Maybe she would smack your sim on the head with her stupid purse if you didn't pay up! What joy :D

Actually, I think that as a way to make the EP more of a challenge, our own Sims could have the option of becoming a landlord/lady. It would add more to the EP.

It would be cool if you could have several playable families in a building but only control one at a time so you could watch the others stupidly use their freewill.

That is funny, although Miss C is an object package so unless they changed it and made her into an actual sim, then how would she be the landlady? She always lectures or hits you when you try to interact her now,

YAY, IT'S BEEN CONFIRMED!!! Over at Snooty's and SimPrograms they show a scanned picture confirming that Apartments will be the next EP! I think it may be called Apartments and not Apartment Life. I am so happy! EA finally granted my wish since 2005!

EDIT: Soon the mods can finally create a new forum for this EP.

Apartments sounded really boring to me. Of course, I was really hoping for a Superstar remake (which will never happen now) but at least there's a chance we might get the butler in Apartment Life. Although, I don't get why a butler fits with the pack. What people who live in apartments can afford a butler? I know I'd have a house if I could afford a butler. Anyway, after reading the survey options on the pack at Snooty I'm sort of warming up to the apartment idea. It looks like they'll be adding more stuff for toddlers & kids (which is needed) and if we got the playground equipment like the survey suggests, I think that would be enough reason for me to buy it. It does sort of sound more like city life, which would probably make me want to play my Downtown areas more. As long as they keep it pretty close to the survey, I'd buy it.

I'll buy it regardless because I have all the EPs and they each have added useful things to my game but I admit that this survey makes the EP even better.

I think this ep sounds fantastic. What I would love more than anything is for them to bring back young adults, but in a way that is playable outside of college. I love that age group, but hate the sims college experience. I don't think I'll get this though. Anyways, this ep sounds like my life right now. The lease to my crappy apartment ends this august. Hoorah!

Funny how when the first teaser for Free Time was released, there were many negative comments. In comparison to the first teaser for this EP, this EP seems like it will do better.

I agree.
As I remember it, a lot of people were disgusted with the first teaser of FT and those same people then regretted speaking bad of it when we got finite details and some screen shots. I predict the same will apply here. For me, I love(d) both ideas, from conception to completion!

I was thinking on the way home tonight, I hope that with apartments you could have roomies with two different money meters and separate bills, so that it's not just one big household income pool. That would be amazing. What kind roomie relationship exists where both of you share money and don't pay bills separately, or at least both contribute half and half to those bills.

The EPs in the last few years have just not been worth the money and are lacking in content. Freetime and Apartment Life should have been one EP. But yeah this looks fun.

Finally the dorm system will be in full circle as it becomes available for neighbourhood use.

This sounds awesome, but I guess they're being lazy and just copy the code (including the bugs) from Uni's dorm for the apartments.....

Anyway don't you think a new subforum for Apartment Life as an EP needs to be make? I think this thread belongs there.

It sounds like Sims : Friends or Sims : Neighbours. My guess is the main theme will be living in an apartment with some NPC. Not that much different from living in a dormitory in University. Will they raise the family limit beyond 8? I did not find University that enjoyable. I like to know what else this EP will add to the game. Right now it does not add anything new since sharing an apartment with NPC has been done since the first EP.

Well technically the sims living in the dorms aren't NPCs they are townies, or to be exact 'dormies'...

You can make a dorm full of playable sims, and I'm sure we will be able to make an apartment building full of playable families. I'll be happy if they add in the option to visit your neighbours. Also, my island hood is getting too small for house lots, so I'm lookign forward to moving all young sims into smaller apartments and keep the land lots for the richer sims.

The insert is now on the official website, and it's still "Apartment Life" for now, at least.

And the difference is? What is the difference between a townie, dormie or a NPC?

To me, NPCs are non player characters. Any sims not under direct player control is one.

It's different. You can marry a (down)townie/dormie and eventually control them but marrying an NPC is a no-no.

Actually the maid, fireman, cop, robbers are all npc's and you can marry them. There's only a few people in game that you can't marry, like hotell staff, or mrs. Crumplebottom and such.
