Well, I know I tried wrapping my son in blankets when he was a baby, but it never stayed. He always found a way to wiggle out of the blankets.

That idea sounds good. Unless you have a medieval neighborhood, most people don't have the baby in the kitchen. But if you do, then being able to choose would be great.

I could be wrong...it's just a thought but has anyone thought that maybe when they refer to "ghost babies" they mean babies can be ghosts in the Sims 3? Like maybe babies can die, just like other sims and reappear as ghosts.

Its probably justs ghosts that have babies.. =/ I don't know if people could handle babies dying in game. It wouldn't bug me, but..

I would hate the idea of ghosts having babies, but ghosts of babies would be awesome.

Maybe an option could pop up to ask if the partner would like to cut the baby's cord, at which point they could also disappear behind the screen (this would be an important memory for family sims, creating strong bonds between child and parent), then the screen drops and we see the new mother/father holding baby as the midwife/husband wipes their brow.

After you have chosen a name, the midwife NPC could then tell you how much the new baby weighs, present you with a birth certificate, and then leave you to get to know the new addition.

I'd also like the option of 'send out birth announcements' on the computer, or phone. It would be nice to see family members and grandparents showing up to see the new infant.

Don't want much do I?

I totally agree.

For something like Risky Woohoo, I'd love there to be a neighbourhood configuration option to set your own percentage chance. So people who don't want risky set it to 0% (which could be the default), people who do want it can set it to what they want (3% for "protection failed", 15% for "want to be surprised by pregnancy/want to only use risky instead of using try for baby for population control", etc). Also a boolean option "enable/disable chimes" or however they decided to notify you that the attempt was successful...

There's probably several other options that people have made mods for Sims2 to enable that'd really benefit from being made player-choice sliders/toggles (e.g. teen pregnancy allowed? Yes/No). Default everything to the current type of behaviour, but permit players to choose to override that behaviour/enable further realism/create more havok in a neighbourhood without having to load possibly game-crashing mods.
