 Why did you choose the designer you did? I choose Dolce&Gabbana because both are such a great designers in the world. Their fashion is always up to date and unique. Besides, when I'm wearing Dolce&Gabbana's, I feel very confident and proud wherever I go especially the red carpet, movie premier, and fashion show. Do you think you were given enough freedom to complete the ad as you wanted? Of course. I can explore my creativity during the photo shot and editing Why did you do the advertisement the way you did? For the advertisement, I try to "sell" a D&G brand new perfume called The One.. The perfume is actually dedicated to a "superwomen"...so, my attitude in the advertisement have to be elegant, sexy, sensual and sophisticated. I choose black color as a theme because it serves to show the sense of elegant and sensual.. In addition the fancy outfit with a glossy textile at the top designed by D&G make the advertisement look "dramatic". Hopefully it can attract peoples to try a brand new perfume from Dolce&Gabbana. What do you think you could have done better? Actually I finished this task with two advertisements..then after discussing with my company and finally we decided to choose this one. So, I'm very confident with it. What did you do best? When I looked back at the advertisement, I can't believe that the girl in the picture was me..haha. I think I've done a good photoshot and It works. I enjoy myself during the photoshot and I believe that camera loves me...wink!! Why should we let you advance this round? TASK B  As you know, my name is Adelaine Taylor, I’m happily half Chinese and half Eurasian and I’m exuberantly Malaysian. Well, I finished school. I’m now a model and I love it, eventhough it’s quite a challenge. When I was a child, (I was cute of course) I was called kaypohchee(Chinese for busybody) as I ask, well, very disturbing questions (I was very curious for gossip back then), I can’t blame myself because my mom and her mom is also kaypohchee. I like to look at people and their behaviour, that was my hobby then. Now, I grow to be a quiet person, I go shopping alone and blog. You know, young people stuff. I want to be a succesful model. Not just pretty and fierce, but charismatic and powerful and rich and 1 inch taller and-well, you know what I mean. There's a certain feeling of powerfulness that comes with wearing Verace." Do you think you were given enough freedom to complete the ad as you wanted? "Absolutely. I met with the photographer before hand and we discussed possible ideas for the ad. The dress represents such freedom and I think incorporating the ocean into the shot was an extension of that." Why did you do the advertisement the way you did? "I wanted a clean and simple look and that's exactly what the photographer and I went for." What do you think you could have done better? "There's probably something that could always be better but I'm very happy with how it turned out and I had a great time shooting it." What did you do best? "I think everything gelled together well. I'm very happy with my hair and makeup and overall I think I modeled the dress well." Why should we let you advance this round? "I believe in myself and I feel that I have it in me to compete in Catwalk. My ultimate dream is to have a long and viable career as a model. It's my absolute passion." |

^ Thanks stylequeen. Ok, my understanding of the tasks are that you chose one plus the mini task. Task A is to be an advert for your chosen designer, which you've done (and it looks awesome by the way), and if you were to chose Task C then you would have to create a short magazine article with 2 photos and write 1-3 paragraphs on a topic which corresponds with your photos.

 Why did you choose the designer you did? Well I just Love how he makes everything. From gowns that are Classic to this fun outfit that I am wearing. He appeals to everyone!! Do you think you were given enough freedom to complete the ad as you wanted? Yes, I just loved how they told me to just have fun with it. I really had a wonderful time doing this. Why did you do the advertisement the way you did? I wanted to keep it simple as I could so people would more focus on the clothing then the background! What do you think you could have done better? I think that I should have been more daring in my pose. I believe that maybe I took it a little safe. But I still believe that my ad is great!! But that is up to the judges!! What did you do best? I love how it all came together. My hair, make-up, and the clothes all go together. Why should we let you advance this round? I have a lot to give. I believe that I have a uniqueness in my picutures. "Becouse its not like some other trend-marks like e.g. Louis Vuitton (Don´t like them). Its more elegance and very feminim. There were so much posibilities. Almost to much. We had everything to use, but I preferred a simple Ad without huge backgrounds. And it went well. I am so happy" Why did you do the advertisement the way you did? "I want it quite simple and elegant. And it is. The dress gains the whole attention and that is what an ad is for, I think" What do you think you could have done better? "I am happy with this should, the only thing I am not too happy about are my hairs. They still look quite to wild." What did you do best? "I love the atmosphere in this Ad. The light and the colors." I wanted to combine the beauty of a woman and the beauty of nature. What do you think you could have done better? I am pretty happy with my effort but am always up for positive criticism. I send in my application scores. Good work all! I really liked judging that round, it promises something for the next. Ehmmm... TwilightSilver, I assume Sunday at midnight is Sunday at midnight as the time displayed on this board says.... since I am in a total different (Dutch) timezone.. that would be somewhere in my Monday-morning, I guess. A liiiiitle late, but I hope I'm still in! I worked my butt off on these:  TASK A - D&G AD Why did you choose the designer you did? Well, first of all I've always admired D&G. And they always come up with incredibly sexy and lovely clothing, but still make it look very classy and sophisticated. Do you think you were given enough freedom to complete the ad as you wanted? Absolutely. Even if there were boundries, in my opinion the sky's the limit. You can make anything look great even if you keep it simple. Thats what this ad represents. Why did you do the advertisement the way you did? The photographer turned out to be an old friend of mine, and we really hit it off. Thats very important, although you'll have to learn to smile at people you dont know, I think its a benefit for your work if you can get along with your collegues. The contrast was his idea actually, and we both picked the contrast colors. Color is very important in a picture, in my honest opinion. What do you think you could have done better? Its hard not to be unsatisfied when you look back on your work. I'd rather fixate on the good points than the bad, but ofcourse, a pro is a pro. In this case we could have used a lighter shade of blue to color the background. It turned out a little but too dark. Other than that, I'm as close to satisfied as I'll ever be. What did you do best? I picked the right outfit. The contrast between what one is wearing and everything that surrounds you should create an eyecatching aspect. I think I managed to do that (except for the blue, which is a bit too dark) Why should we let you advance this round? There are a lot of models who just go up there and pose. Hello Ladies? Its not just your picture they are taking! The least you can do is give your opinion on how it should be done. You dont have to be a know-it-all, but some photographers really enjoy your ideas. Then you can truly say that its YOUR work people are looking at. If I win this competition, I can atleast try to take modelling to the next step, by really putting an effort in not just the posing, but also the developing process.
