Yeah, I know that I'm an idiot when it comes to these things, but I really have no idea...^^

I think what Thomass (he was the originator of this quote wasn't he?) was trying to say was, "We're not actually making anything over here at TSR. We're waiting for the people in the community who truly have talent to create an amazing tool that we can then brand our name into and present to the larger public as our miraculous tool (which will cost the low low price of only $19.95)."

That follows my line of thinking. Basically, it doesn't matter to me who makes it. I'm not a TSR fan, but if someone wants to spend time making me something really cool that I can use, I'm all for it. But, I won't install it until MTS says I should.

I'm guessing that some of those people would be quite surprised to find themselves on that list.

Either there's something going on here behind the scenes or TSR is trying to attach themselves to someone else's project and call it their own. Either way, eff that.

Oh I hope so...
I would be so disappointed seeing Delphy working for TSR...
Why is he not creating such a tool for MTS?
The same goes for Inge (and shes a member at MATY btw, and MATY hates TSR...), who is on that list too...

Its sad to see them working for T$R...

Wow, I had no idea TSR was so evil, or so unpopular, I have never used them. Now I will make sure I don't. Honestly the content at TSR looks terrible in comparison to the stuff on here and as stated by an above poster there is not a single mod or hack.

I knew that TSR is a joke, but I didn't think they would lie about who is involved with their project. That's just crazy.

If you think about what they said. They did not explicitly say these are the people. They are just saying the likes of..... pretty weak.

But OMG half of those people have basically admitted not not even being approached by TSR and intermate what the answer would be as well.

So are TSR maybe stealing some coding via the tinfoil transmitter trick? Or have they perhaps infiltrated one of those top secret, publically advertised, Sims modder sites? Hmmmm

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if someone did. There have been plenty of times in the past when truths have been stretched to breaking points, other things have been exaggerated beyond belief, and I have definitely seen proof of out-and-out lies coming from various people who hang at TSR. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I am sorry but tools like that should have just come with the game. Its like releasing a game that's 90% done. Also I think people are right that the program will probity be just a good starting point on making what you want. To make some professional style meshes you will probity need a good professional 3D art and animation program and they aren't cheap.

Okay, I was digging through the thread at TSR about this tool. There's been speculation on whether EA has been helping with this tool or not.

Thomas posted this:

EA has nothing to do with our decision to create this tool, nor are they supporting us in any way.

Thread here Post #30.

First off, why are you sorry? EA should create tools like this but they know they don't have to, and if they did what on earth would people like Inge and Peter Jones, Pescado, Delphy, and countless others do with their time? From what I can tell, they get much more enjoyment out of tearing the code apart than actually playing the game.

From the beginning, tools were promised. For TS a tool named EDITH was supposed to be released, with which furniture could be made. It never happened. BodyShop was a HUGE step in the right direction but EA isn't going to actually pay someone to do something when it can be done free by the community, and in the end we get much better quality tools from the community than we do from EA. I absolutely loathe the way TS2's Homecrafter automatically names files with that hex system which is supposed to never create duplicates. Yet low and behold, I ended up with duplicate file names all the same. I've never, ever run into a duplicate file name in files actually named by their creators because most people use the same type of naming structure which creates completely unique file names.

Thank you for your kind answers.

I do agree with Spiderfang, such tool should have come with the game.

EA's meshes are good but their taste in clothing or furniture, is mostly awfull. They might do it on purpose with the intention to lock modders...

Anyway, I would have liked to hear Inge's and Delphy's opinions - TSR are using here their names.

Hugs to everybody,

Mausi

The main thing i do not like about the houses designed by Maxis is the interiors are always so dark and not nice at all. they have no idea how making use of the correct colours to capture the existing light can open a room. This leads me to believe there are no gay males involved in the creative process here.... give one of us the job we will make nice rooms for you even using the crappy content that comes with the base games.

Are you saying that all gay males are stylish and naturally inclined to use bright colours in their decorations?

My biggest gripe about EAxis-made houses are they are too stingy with windows, put in too many unneeded doors, and have no concept of traffic flow. I usually buy the house and the first thing I do is tear out walls and redesign the inside to be actually livable. And add lots of windows. I suspect that Sims 3 will be the same way. If the videos and pics I've seen are anything to go by.

I agree they could use some house building lessons. My biggest gripe is who makes a house with a master suite and the bathrom clear on the opposite end of the house? OMG master suite should have its own private bath. Also I think they just close thier eyes and pick colours cause GAH. the first thing i do is buy an empty lot and build from scratch. My only hitch i hate landscaping *LOL*. The first thing i would do with a sims 2 ex pack was delete ALL the Maxis houses.

I usually find just applying walls that capture the light is sufficent i do not necessarily like too many windows in a house.

and Croco I am not stating all gay men can, I am simply trying to use that stereotype to get myself a job doing the interior designing of maxis house.... shhhhhh
