The TV Producer Contest
Open to Sims 2 and Sims 3 Contestants  *** Introduction: You've just been hired by SimStation, an up and coming television network, and your first month is crucial to make a lasting impact on the higher ups. To make a good impression, you need to rework some classic/clichéd (whatever you want to call it!) television genres and bring them back to life; a chat show, a cookery programme, a news or sports show and a sitcom. *** Rounds: There are four rounds in this competition, and there is no application: Round 1 - The Chat Show - Scores “So tell us about…” Round 2 - The Cookery Programme - Scores “Preheat your oven to…” Round 3 - The News/Sports Programme - Scores “Our top stories tonight…” Round 4 - The Sitcom - Scores “Previously on…” For each round, you must create the set and at least one Sim to appear on the television show; however this will be explained per round in the requirements for each round. *** Timings: Round 1: Starts Saturday 27th June, finishes Wednesday 8th July Round 2: Starts Saturday 4th July, finishes Wednesday 15th July Round 3: Starts Saturday 11th July, finishes Wednesday 22nd July Round 4: Starts Thursday 16th July, finishes Monday 27th July *** Judges: 1. wgroome 2. DollyRot 3.  Your first mission is to come up with a new chat show. This could be a general chat show, or a hobby specific one (such as fishing or music, as examples) The Set: You only need to make as much as the set as you would see on camera, and you don’t need seating for the audience (although this can be added if you want.) You will need somewhere for the host to sit, and at least a two tile sofa/couch for the guest(s) to sit on. You can add any other decorations you want to the set. You should aim to post around 3-5 pictures of the set, showing possible shots the cameramen may use, and an overview of the set (this does not mean an overhead view, it means a shot of the whole set.) The Host: The Sim you need to make for this round is the host of your show. They can be young adult, adult or elder and can be either gender. You should show us a picture of them in their interviewer seat, and provide a short bio (between 2 - 5 sentences) about them; their presenting style, hobbies, personal details etc… You can post a maximum of one other picture of the host, if you would like. Notes: You are not required to (i.e. do not) write an example interview, however you may have pictures of an interview between your host and a created "guest" in your "The Set” pictures to illustrate the camera shots that could be used. This round will close on Wednesday 8th July 2009. |

Hosted by Flora McDermott This new talk show is all about gardening and discovering and planting new types of flowers and plants. The Host:  Click for Larger Flora McDermott grew up in a family of gardeners. Her parents even had her gardening as a baby, and Flora took a natural liking to it. Throughout high school, she became more and more sociable and charismatic, and started a web show about different plants. Her dream has now come true, now that SimStation has offered her her very own talk show. Camera Angles:    Overview Shot:  Side Notes: This is my first contest, so I'm pretty excited. I decided to take a slightly different approach, hope it's okay. I tried to go for the classic/cliché kinda thing, didn't reeeeally work out ;p Resistance!
Hosted by Agent GSW  Who is Agent GSW? Only those part of the Resistance really know her real identity, but what we see on the remains of our televisions is a young female survivor with one heck of an attitude. Before the apocalypse hit, it was believed she was a politician of some sort, ex-intelligence officer, perhaps. It is well-known however, she is an expert markswoman and has inflicted severe damage on the new Government's troops, with the aid of her fellow 'freedom fighters'. She is quite fond of making a mockery of the new leader, and everything he says and does, she's also very, very good at it. She works for the only station the Government has not located the base for, and therefore hasn't destroyed it - SimStation. The set, and the show.     Of course, this isn't quite how you'd see it on your TV, it'd be more like this:  |

Music Talk Show This show is all about the music and the people who sing/play it. Kelly Wilson The host of the music talk show (All About the Music) She was a singer in the group Sims of America when she was 10. Ever since then she has wanted to involve herself in everything music. She loves to get dressed up and have fun with all of her friends and have a good time. She is 25 years old and this is her first time as a talk show host.  The Set The set is kind of small but gets the job done. It's girly with a small hint of masculinity.  Notes: I made it more like a set placed outdoors rather than in a building...I hope thats ok. The Interview She interviewed Selena Newell a big pop singer for teens.   Selena Newell A fun loving teen that has a lot ahead of her. She just made it big in the music industry. She loves to write when she is not singing. She came from a large family that she is now supporting with her new found fame. |

Yvette will do just about anything thing to track down and get the interview with authors of all types of genre. Today's guest author Harold Evans could only be reached by satellite. As you can see the studio and Yvette are well equipped to handle it.

You will need somewhere for the prepare food, so you must have a fridge, sink, oven and at least two tiles of surfaces. You can add any other decorations and appliances you want to the set. You should aim to post around 3-5 pictures of the set, showing possible shots the cameramen may use, and an overview of the set (this does not mean an overhead view, it means a shot of the whole set.) The Host: The Sim you need to make for this round is the host of your show. They can be young adult, adult or elder and can be either gender. You should show us a picture of them in preparing food in their kitchen, and provide a short bio (between 2 - 5 sentences) about them; their presenting style, their favourite type of food, how they got into food, personal details etc… You can post a maximum of two other pictures of the host, if you would like. Notes: Try and come up with a unique idea for your cook's personality; they could be a sweet old lady who loves baking or a young man who teaches food that's quick and easy. This round will close on Wednesday 15th July 2009. |
