Game is so complex and have so many stuff, but somehow sometimes I found it monotonous. It's like basic pattern [basic game] with numerous accessories [expansions]. What I want to say, the game is mostly about creation and that's all. You create, this, you create that, you press play and see how that stuff you have created look in motion and after a numerous animation it just like huge gif, it start to repeat, or should I say, your gameplay is a combination of repeating action till you get bored and look to create more. I just want more from the game. It's great to express your creativity, but would be fun to go a little dipper with my creations.

I don't use awesomemod. I do have MasterController, but the cheat thing is separate. I believe it came with a patch, but I'm not sure which one it was anymore.

Edit: I should say, there is a way to do this with MasterController, but the cheat I am refering to is part of the game, not that mod.

A little more "expansion" on one of my expansion pack ideas lol.

The Sims 3: Communal Living Expansion Pack

In the The Sims 3: Communal Living Expansion Pack, you can create sprawling apartments, decorated penthouses, dazzling duplexes, and many other residential options for Sims of all ages! Don't be limited to houses! Now your Sims can live the life of communal living!

*Create apartments, duplexes, penthouses, boarding houses and retirement homes for sims and families of all walks of life! If you build it, they will come! Beware that anything can go wrong from power outages to broken sinks! Now your Sims will have fully functional air conditioning and heating units which can break down as well causing all sorts of havoc on your body and room temperature! You might even get roaches or mice INSIDE your home!

*Become the ultimate landlord, or be given the title of slumlord, with the new Landlord career opportunity! Keep track of your tenants, fulfill their needs/wants, and make sure nothing goes wrong, otherwise you're phone will be ringing off the hook! Lucky for you, landlords can have their own office right on the grounds! With the proper desk, a snappy computer, and the new file cabinet object, you will be able to organize everything! Set your own hours, hire a team, do whatever you have to to make it in the landord business!

*Another new career is the Real Estate career! Think you can flip a home? Show off your salesmanship skills by doing house tours, make offers, and ultimate sell a house to a needy family in your world!

*When you live in an communal building, you can put on building-wide parties, events, and more! Get your neighbors involved! Watch out for those neighbors with they "Nosy" trait because they will peer through your windows and knock on your door until they know for sure what's going on! Be neighborly! With new interactions, you can stop by your neighbor's place and drop off a dish, help them with chores, carpool your children, start a Landlord Fan Club, or work together to get their current landlord fired!

*Creating a retirement home allows elder Sims to successfully "retire" from their jobs and live in a more peaceful and quaint living space away from the noise and drama of the outside world. Elder Sims, when retired, are automatically given "Those Pesky Teenagers Earbuds and Music Player" in their inventory so they can pretend to not hear anything, but they are just drowning out the noise with subtle music.

New Traits
*Nosy - as detailed above, a Sim with this trait can't help but peer through windows and constantly stares into their neighbor's yard, even from their own house!
*Claustrophobic - Hates tight spaces, and hates any kind of small, communal living space and would rather live in a house. Can easily be sold a house.
*Loves Simplicity - Would rather keep it simple, and live in an apartment or a duplex than worry about having to take care of anything. They aren't Lazy, since they would prefer to cook on their own, read, do activities, and work.
*Sucker - Is prone to bad deals, and can easily be "bought" or "tricked" into buying something, whether it be from a consignment store, or real estate at retail or higher prices.

Some New Objects:
*'Those Pesky Teenagers' Earbuds and Music Player
*Fully Functional Air Conditioners and Heaters
*Punching bags (big and small) and more gym equipment.
*Limbo set
*Checkers table
*Assorted board games
*'Know Thy Neighbor' Trivia Booth
*Binoculars
*Tea Set with new kinds of tea.

Going to work on a Business one eventually! ;D

This isn't an expansion idea but a store world idea, perhaps a London-esque town that will feature the Capp family from TS2? It could mix the country side with urban landscaping.

Rare Blue Skittle...

...that is how you remake an EP. Of course, it wont work in 3, but I'd love to see something like that in 4. A retirement home really would be a great addition to the game. ^_^

Honestly, even though we have Generations, I'd really like to see a child/toddler focused expansion. Toddlers and kids are so darn boring I'd rather have my simmies line die out than spawn more of those boring little things xD

Some features I'd like to see:

-Being able to bathe toddlers, we had that in TS2 so why not TS3. I mean its a simple thing but at least its something to do with the kiddlets.

-More toys/ activities for children and toddlers to do by their lonesome, I mean there's a MILLION toys and games for kids to do why not integrate them into the game and give toddlers and children a little more excitement.

-Better interactions for toddlers and children with their family, sometimes I get the feeling that my sims don't really give a darn about their children and vice versa, the sims should have better, more close making interactions not only for their immediate family, but their extended family. Which includes, like others have posted, toddler to toddler and toddler to child interactions.

-I'd really like the evil and good traits to have more interactions, not just for the young ones but everyone, but it'd be funny to have an evil child constantly doing bad stuff and have his good sibling be able to tattle on him.

- Children able to have crushes or 'Puppy Loves'. This is probably the biggest thing I'd like to see in the sims. I mean how cute would it be to have your kids experience their first crush? I've always wanted to be able to tell the classic 'I loved ya since we were kids' sort of story with actual interactions not just poses.

Can't really think of anything else specifically I'd like in a redo of generations but a few minor things I'd like to see at some point in the game are:

-The ability to adopt exotic, and probably dangerous pets for your sims. ex tigers, wolves, cheetahs, you know things that could probably eat your simmies up if you don't take good care of them.

-A new supernatural/lifestate of a shape shifter. The standing up werewolf is kind of silly, I'd like to see my sims be able to turn into wolves, cats, etc. It'd be really interesting to see what EA would come up with for that kind of creature.

-A 'possesive' or 'romantically jealous' trait. It'd be interesting to have a sim who gets all mad whenever their partner even talks to the opposite gender, maybe if they had the mean spirited trait they'd beat the rival for their partner's affection up, you know something like that? xD

I love the Sims 2 crushes! where one sim could have a crush on the other, and the other Sim thinks that they're just good friends or has no idea who the person is! We need this back?! Do you think it could be possible to mod this? or would that be too hard??

EA could probably make it moodlet and have the game roll wants to talk to a particular person. That is, if the attraction system was geared toward that.

As far as I know the existing attraction system already does this. Otherwise why would my Simmies keep getting so many phone calls for dates from people they barely know, even when they're engaged?

Personally I find it highly annoying.

I doubt we'll get that back as they released a changing table in the Store recently that allows "bathing". EA probably think if people can buy it in the Store, why provide it as part of a pack?

EPs are coming in faster and faster, but with fewer features and stuff, it feels like. Seems like they have some lesser teams working on the EPs. The real talent is already on The Sims 4. I really hope Redwood does that one a wee bit better than The Sims 3 which so many EPs and several years later still feels hollow and like an alpha version. I long for the days of Maxis.

I really hate to keep bringing this up, but Maxis has been a part of EA games since 1997, they still work on the game, and they even have the logo on University, so it's not like they went anywhere.

Random expansion idea, cultivated from other Sims 3 bits and bobs and a few new ones. Nothing special, just floating about in the old brain.

----------------------------------------------------------------

The Sims 3: High Stakes
Your Sims are ready to take the Las Simas Strip by storm! Whether it be losing all of your winnings in spectacular casinos or catching elaborate shows in garish theaters, your Sims are ready to lose all inhabitions and take the trip of a lifetime! What happens in Las Simas stays in Las Simas! At least, from what they can remember...

-Visit a desert world, far from home! Swanky hotels, lavish restaurants and grand theaters take precident in a town dotted with shops, wedding chapels, high rises and luxury homes. Who knows what secrets will be found?

-Why just watch? Be the show! Get gigs as a magician, show dancer, acrobat or a mucisian! Give elaborate performances or do street shows!

-Eating? Working out? Woo-Hoo? Too much of a good thing can lead to a bad thing! Various addictions, amnesia and even bankruptcy are now threats to sims lives!

-Purchuse rare animals for your varying acts! Exotic birds, large cats and even wild, tropical fish for your home!

-Build venues in varying styles: Egyptian, Atlantis, Tropical and Pirate themed.

Incorrect - Maxis works out of Emeryville and have had absolutely nothing to do with The Sims 3 or any of its expansion packs. EA has used them as a development studio for new IPs. Maxis will have nothing to do with The Sims 4 either.

"The Sims Studio" subdivision of EA is in Redwood and Salt Lake City. "The Sims Studio" has people from Redwood Shores, Salt Lake (Visceral Games), and Blackbox from Canada. It has nothing to do with Maxis other than the name which is used for the purposes of marketing and continuity.

As I said - I long for the days of Maxis. I hope Redwood have learned from all the mistakes they made with The Sims 3.

Out of 67+ pages on this thread, someone may have already said this but.. here 'tis..

I would like an entirely "homeless" expansion pack. Like this:

Survival Based Environment
Have sim travel to a new "world" where the idea is to start from scratch. World scenarios could be: Apocalypse, Desert Island, Return from Exile - so that the environment is about survival and not about multiple lifestyle choices. Have new spawners that involve surviving skills, such as: spawn "ancient tools" that sim can "discover" and can be used to procure food/shelter.

Homeless-Ready Free Will
Have sims be able to spontaneously harvest and eat when hungry, instead of seeking ready-made food. Choose to sleep on ground instead of pass out from exhaustion.

Roughing-It Actions
Use wildflowers for eating or making medicine. Instead of building a house: create a lean-to shelter after collecting branches {perhaps before sim can build a house}. Focus on gathering and hunting and observation instead of town-based problem solving. Make a hatchet for trail marking, or make a stone firepit before sim can cook anything.

Survival of the Fittest Interactions
Others who are surviving will act as burglars and will take food and supplies instead of saleable goods. Make it possible to help another sim find food or shelter, or to help a sim who is injured. Have traits for woodlore, tracking, medicine-making, survivalist.

Natives not Townies
"Townies" and NPC's modeled after ppl who would inhabit the abovementioned scenarios. Such as: Apocalypse - "townies" are others ravaged by the disaster and are competition for your food and supplies {eg, an "underground"}. Desert Island - "townies" are mysterious natives who can either help or hinder sim in survival. Return from Exile - "townies" are "political" friends or foes who can help or hinder sim's survival progress from motives of loyalty to a faction or ruler.

Survival Based Opportunities
Save a fellow sim from the "natives" {such as, find this sim before x number of natives can find you}. Teach the "natives" how to be civilized {ie, how to grow a certain plant, or get x number of natives to build a shelter with branches}. Use recipies of flowers and herbs to help native animals recover from diseases.

Survival Based "Careers"
Become king of the natives. Start a successful health clinic for the native ills. Create a forest preserve among natives and wild animals. Start a successful campground "business" in a wild area. Find x number of rare animals to photograph for magazine assignment. Start an endangered animals preserve geared toward one type of animal {eg: save the wild horses, save the unicorns, ect.} Build a huge escape raft or boat.

Survival Based "Tombs"
Escape the natives' camp. Find a rare medicinal herb. Use the environment to determine what type of tomb. Like, "Apocalypse": Have sim go through a tomb where he has to interact with "the underground" or "black market" to be successful. "Desert Island": Find the tomb that allows escape from the island.

You get the idea. I know there are mods that will facsimilie parts of this kind of gameplay, but I think EA's designers would make a bundle from an EP that is fine-tuned for it. So many simmers try to play poverty or apocalypse sims. And, if it is an EP, those features - at least some of them - would be available in the existing towns and worlds in the game. Again, sorry if this suggestion is already in this thread.

I loved Open for Business in TS2, so I'd love to see that kind of EP for TS3 (or come standard in TS4). I miss being able to have my sims run their own businesses, and I felt that whole aspect of the game had a lot of potential. Buying already established businesses just isn't the same.

Another thing I'd really like is the ability to have mixed-use lots. This would allow for usable apartments above/behind/attached to businesses, having your home on the same lot as your business, working from home, and something like a park with food and beverage stands.
