Far superior to my real nickname. Adrienne is a rather hard name to creatively abbreviate, so the only thing my friends could come up with was "Aids." It's awful... whenever they call me that in public, heads turn and people think I actually have AIDS.

Also, Rien doesn't mean "nothing" it means "thing" or "something". It only means nothing when you say something like, je ne regrette rien (I regret nothing, literally I no regret a thing). So they weren't calling you "Nothing" they were calling you "Thing". Although, you could always assume they were calling you "Something" as in, "Man, she's something!" That's definitely how I would have spun it
