Yes, back to the sexy clothes for men. Yeah.

I think that maybe picking up a men's magazine might give me some good ideas. The big problem for me is getting the endless possibilities provided by fashion pics to meld with the limited possibilities of the existing skin meshes. Even when the meshes are extracted and useable by 3D artists, I'll still have to rely on the kindness of strangers. . .

And so was I. Was Faylen did in the last post was merely summing up what I had written. I'm tired of being portrayed as the bad guy around here.

Kent,

Your style is to hang on like a pitbull. If you are giving advice, please just give it and move on. There is no reason to insist upon it being taken. Just say it once and be done with it, and people won't get so upset.

If you have anything further to say about this, please reply to me by PM and let this thread get back on topic.

Thanks
RG

I was hoping someone would've taken to my male SIM request. It may have led them to making several outfits that the whole band wears. If they looked at the others LOL.

Actually I doubt that's the reason at all. Sure the mesh choices are limited but there's still enough to work with. Just playing with the skin-tight meshes can provide a wide variety of possibilities.

It's really just a matter of interest. Most people don't seem interested in making things for Sim males. And those that are, a good portion of them just want band/sports t-shirts, jeans, and plaid, etc. Which is fine, but not to my taste and not what I want for my Sim males.

So we make our own or beg the like-minded to do so. Which is also fine.

As for your request, I think I missed it.

My feelings exactly.

The irony of a thread discussing our frustration and desperation over a lack in stylish and sexy clothes for men being hijacked by someone posting yet another 'cleavage breakthrough' certainly hasn't been lost on me. :omg:

Maybe a few photos of what people would like to see made would get this started again - remember, pictures only! (No files for download!!!!)

Well, sexy is in the eye of the beholder, as it were, but here are some of the (possibly sexy?) custom outfits that my sister and I have made for men- if it helps...

I have a few men's clothing uploaded at these locations;

Adam is modeling one of the many 'open shirt with vest' series called "The Astro."

Troy is modeling one of the many 'Partyboy shirts' series called "Dazzled Diamonds."

Dennis is modeling one of the many 'Rocker Sports Coats' series called "Brown Croc Skin."

Thomas modeling one of the many 'Rocker Sports Coats' series called "Open Red Snake Skin."

All my adult skins, including animalia and fantasy characters have enhanced nudes.

It's a little something, nothing too fancy, but I'm still a beginner. I'm assembling a few mens robes, swim suits, jammies, workout shorts and more for upload on this site . I just need to take some pics and have them approved.

Enjoy!

A quick note on my men's clothes, you can download them from the main Sims 2 site (http://thesims2.ea.com/mysimpage/uploads.php?user_id=573013).
My uploads on the Sim2 site have just regular Maxis Skins. Message me if you're interested in the enhanced versions which are graphic when you have the blur removal.
Enjoy! :howdy:

OK, so I went on to Style.com and took a look at the men's runway shows. I think my sims would be embarassed to be seen in most of that stuff. Lots of rust and burgundy in Calvin Klein, Armani exchange looked too casual, and Versace made all their models look like llama herders. This is not as easy as I thought it would be. However, some of the things skinners can do is make the clothes shinier (sateen, velvet, leather looks were all featured) and the shirts sheer or done in large-scale prints.

Wow, what did I start? This thread really took off. I like what I am seeing here, alot of you have some really great ideas for good male clothing. My Sim guys are alot happier now, and are getting bigger wardrobes.

And Allan, I apologize for jumping all over your case earlier on in this thread. It wont happen again.

Faylen, what aboutthe International Male site that I posted at the beginning of this thread? Now those are some very fasionable clothes. Maybe I should start doing some googling and see what I can come up with.

Hmmm. Maybe we'll start a contest. . .get some fashion screenshots and see who can come the closest to the outfit for their sims.

I like the items in the catalog that Scotty originally posted. It's just hard to translate them into nice Sim clothes. Part of the appeal of the clothes in the catalog are the gorgeous models, the calculated poses, and the cut of the clothes. I can't reproduce those with Sims. Many of those items have those relaxed pleated pants, which look great, but there's no equivalent in the Sims.

I did have a request for a suit though that I worked on tonight. I think it's a little more stylish than the default ones...maybe.

Gigge's right - the biggest problem with those clothes is the cut. Maybe with the new mesh tool some outsized clothes might be possible, but I won't be touching any of that myself, not for a long time.

Scotty, did you take a look at my clothes on the sim 2 site? I have a few sets series I'm working on and one or two of each type uploaded there. I have the 'Partyboy shirts' perfect for clubbing, The 'Rocker Sports Coats' perfect for the wilder executive or rock star, the 'Short Robe Loungewear' a little sexier for lounging in the evening , the 'open shirt with vest' for the tougher sexy guy look. And a few odds and ends clothing items for men and a few for women.

I love international male, I have tons of their stuff in real life. I'm working on more now. I still need to zip them up for this site. Tell me what you like and I'll see what I can do. I just got the latest catalog today.

Happy SimFunForAll!

Well, I tried the pleated pants. It's not easy, but it's possible....sort of. It's not from International Male, but the style is similar to some of the things they had.

Not bad Gigge!

To make pic a thumbnail, select the button that says , "Manage Attachments" under "Additional Options."
When you upload, it will insert pic into comment as thumbnail. Then when members want bigger pic, they just click thumbnail and waalaa!

I'm annoyed with the teen male meshes. The game is sexist - it acts like teen girls will show off their bodies and teen boys won't. Hmph. Some won't but some certainly will. Just deeper necklines, bare chests, the ability to take the collars out wider... little stuff. Somebody pretty please tell me how to switch an adult male mesh to teen so I can try it for myself and convince myself it won't work before I give up?

TIA
