Well I've realized that a good part of my problem finding good clothes is that I don't want to go to the exchange - sorry but that site just drives my computer insane. It works but it's soooooo slow and clunky.

Anyway, here's my try at a teen male top. Not perfect, I'm still learning - be gentle, but what do you think? :) The shirt is ribbed, and the bump map makes the leather tie come out fairly well - the details are kind of hard to see in the screen shot, but it looks ok in the game to me. That model is used for another post on this thread. You can tell I've been downloading and just took the first that the shirt worked for :)

Well I didn't think it was *that* bad a try I must have different ideas of what's fun than other people.

Gotta work on those shoulders, though. RGiles put up UV map files on this forum (this thread, I think? Sorry, brain's turned off) and I copy and paste that on as another layer in Photoshop to help get things lined up right.

I liked 'em... they dip in at the sides (of the shoulders)... see i'm weird...

Edit: Weird or not, I took your advice and fixed the shoulders. They're now a little fuzzy right where they meet, if you look closely, but this seems to be the best I can do at the moment. Hopefully I'll improve. Any other advice greatly appreciated :) I'm way pleased with the shadow under the leather piece - it moves nicely to looking almost flat to being up off his shirt, depending on the angle/light.

If anyone's still looking for short shorts for men, Jay's made some at After Midnight Sims 2 http://www.angelfire.com/sd2/aftermidsims2/

Is it odd that I wish to put skirts (NOT that kilt) on my sim males?

I am pretty disappointed in the lack of male clothing as well.
Several dozen screens of clothes for the females in the game, yet barely anything for men. (sexy or otherwise)

My kids and teens are the worst off. Until last night, my little boys only had one custom outfit to choose from and all teen boys in every neighbourhood wore one of the 3 decent shirt/jeans combos I could find (don't like the short pants or the hoodies)

It was the same for Sims 1, though I eventually found the scuk and sims gogogo for beautiful males... they don't seem to be carrying over to Sims 2 though

I'm starting to think a careful review of all those sexy clothes I had for my other sims is in order so I can try my hand at making some clothes for my Sims2.

i'd like to see some shredded ramones-style blue jeans and a poet/pirate shirt in a nice white cotton. and lots more long hair. (i'm sure you guys all exist to feed my fetish...LOL...) and log another vote for international male.

I've looked and looked at the poet's shirt as I love it (well, one of them in particular, not sure which one it is) but I'm afraid it really needs a new mesh. It has to have sleeves that bell out, then a long cuff area and a collar. The only thing (at least in teens, I'm still looking mostly at teens) that comes close is the sweater that tucks in, but... well I might try it anyways, but I don't think it'll work.

Anyone doing new meshes for teen males? (I haven't seen any, but I haven't looked through them *all*)

Well, I had the same problem, starting in Sims Original. That is why I started skinning and made my website http://simstyles.net (Sim-ply Male Style).

It is not really a pay site, but you have to be a member of Simshosts to pay for the dl bandwidth. I have jsut started making some more skins again since University came out and converting some of the old skins to the new Young Adult.

Meshes seems to be my problem. i have tried, but jsut cant seem to get the hang of it. I would love some robe tops, with boxer, brief etc meshes to do PH sets.

Any meshes would be great.

I agree cyberfish. I'd like some just nightshirts as well ^.^. I don't altogether mind the plaid nightpants, work well for my family guys, but the maxis cloths really just don't do it for me. I can never find sophisticated, sexy, stylish clothing of the male variety!

Yet, I think the sims has always been this way. I still remember having trouble in sims 1 (then again I'm picky so sue me [plz don't actually ;_;]) It would be nice if the sims2 could improve on that, but sadly I'm just a leech and have no way with meshing ;_;, if I ever learn I will definitely be making better male clothing (if anything else ^.~)

My sims need eye-candy to~o!

I feels there's a need for cooler male outfits, not necessairy sexy. The original meshes are so nerdy, -well, most of them anyways :/ I mean, tees and shirts tucked inside pants that go up to your navel is not my idea of cool. How many young men are actually dressed like that??

I had the same complaint so i started making some stuff myself. My work is more along the idea of goth sexy though. I'm taking some of the ideas used in some of the sexy female sim clothing and using it on guys. Obviously not everyones idea of sexy but hey for those of you who are like me, i'm sure you'll love it!

I only have one currently finished and uploaded. If anyone is interested though heres a link to it.

I agree! We REALLY need more nicer clothes for the guys. It's all the girls getting the stylish stuff

I really think guys should have better clothes too. If http://www.simsgogogo.com would make skins for The Sims 2, I would be happy. I, personally, thought they had the best male downloads out there for the original.

I agree with the nightshirt idea. The teen girls get them but the guys just get the pants! Kinda dull.

I hear all of you and I also wish there were more stylish men's clothes. I don't get why most of creators are making more for women! I miss my Sims 1 male clothes. God they looked great!..heh heh......

I would enjoy the very stylish clothes you find at Gap! Colorful and elegant...I'm no good at all at skinning. More jackets, shirts with ties, work or office clothes.....enough with the T-shirts...lolll Thanks!
