There is nothing to do anymore. I make my sims go out to eat/watch a movie every single day. I wish there was more of a night life for my teenagers. I miss the clubs from sims 2 =(

I miss the nightlife too. Would have been perfect for the Sims 3 since our sims can actually stay up all night instead of having time freeze in the community lot and not be affected.

I tried making a club though, it's called The Bronze in my "Sims 3 Buffy Style" thread. Go to the second page for pictures.

I made my sims a bar as well, but it's really dull. Which is why I'm going to download CharmingFirewaller's bronze (great work ) even thou I'm not a buffy fan, but even less am I a good builder.

Karasu118: If your point for the thread was that town life is boring, then well, nothing much to do about that untill EPs or great mods fix the problem. but if it's about playing in general being boring, then maybe it's time to spice up your sim's life. Do a challenge, or roll a random disaster to effect a family of yours, have an affair. The possibilities are endless (almost). My sims were also going through a bit of a dull slump, untill one of my guys put into action his plan of murdering his brother's wife.

I personally think the game is a snorefest.

And that was my two cents in the matter

A huge aspect of the game is meant to be about being social but there are virtually no social activities. Even things like seeing a movie or concert which are normally social IRL aren't social in TS3.

The sims find it boring too... no one in the real world would want to play chess that much if they had something better to do!

Lol! So true!

I try to make my sims be more social but it takes so long to build relationships! So unless my sim starts off with a spouse, she/he will never have friends =/

Sigh...oh well I'll just stick to modding and creating.

Maybe you could try a challenge or two. That's what kept me interested

I find myself constantly wishing for places to go where my sims could meet potential future husbands/wives and things to do. Meeting in the park or in the toilets of the gym just doesn't cut it anymore.

I don't have the patience.

And, what makes it worse is the fact that even though I patched my game TWICE, speed 3 and 4 still don't work. So sleepy-time for the sims is the most droll and painful part of playing.

And the game isn't *that* bad, it just requires too much effort

You're not supposed to be socializing, you're supposed to be skilling and gathering!

It gets boring faster because there is so few to do. I played bigtime for weeks, now I am just bored. Tried all the options, ceps rabbitholes which bore me.

I pretty much have stop playing the game. I'm not a great builder so I just download other peoples houses and alter them and change stuff till I get bored and download another one. I did get my sim pregnant and am trying to go through the entire life cycle of a child but it's difficult and boring. Usually I just age 'em up through the birthday cake. Might try a challenge or make one up myself. This game is supposed to be never ending, but if you don't have a goal it is never ending and ending and ending, etc. I think cooking might be more fun to watch if they actually DID it like pulling different stuff from the fridge or cuboards and having a cooking animation that isn't boring like throwing it all it a pot and magically waffles show up. What about eggos and a toaster? lol. I wish they would of implemented mini games like being able to play chess or a cooking mini game. The better your sim got the better meals they made. I think it would make people more interested in actually feeding them and having them cook instead of using the cheats.

Not for me. Having minigames would be annoying, especially since if I want to play games to build skills, I'd go find an MMO somewhere.

Really, you get out of the game what you put into it. If you find something you want your sims to do, like have a successful legacy, or building dream-houses, or making them live in a tropical forest on their lot, then it's something to keep you occupied. It's not SUPPOSED to be fun if all you do is watch their skills fluctuate and send them to work -- use imagination, people.

Ah, the certainties of youth. How many people do you know who prefer to stay home and play videogames rather than go out?

I used downtown to meet people. Once they were met, I left the club/restaurant and never went back. I can do that in town now at the park or even outside work. *shrug*

How do you murder another sim? lol

The only way i killed a sim was by setting the kitchen on fire.

I wish there were more activities as well. The other night I was thinking about how much I would just like to send my sims bowling or some other fun activity. I didn't have my Sims 2 sims bowl often because of loading times, but the open neighborhood concept of Sims 3 really lends itself to going out more for activities. Sadly now the activities are missing. People are probably right thinking we'll just have to wait for xpacs to do more things.

As for boredom, I think part of the problem is that overall the graphics didn't get better than Sims 2 so people really needed a larger increase in the gameplay, which didn't happen. There are less activities than with the fully xpaced (making up words here) and modded Sims 2. The same thing happened from Sims 1 to Sims 2 but during that transition the graphics really improved so it was a little easier to overlook.

Secondly, we are essentially playing the same game as Sims 2. Look at the challenges. A lot of them are just rewritten ones from Sims 2. And chances are you've already done those challenges with better looking sims. So if you are basically doing the same things as you did in Sims 2 (marry, top of career, kids, rinse and repeat) then it'll get boring very quickly since we've been doing that for years. Part of the reason for that is do to limitations in Sims 3 and part of that is due to how we naturally play.

For me, I'm still experimenting with my game so I'm not bored yet. I'm getting ready to work on a Hatfield v McCoy (It's War Baby) type of challenge to see how it works with story progression and the open neighborhood concept. It's nothing I did in Sims 2 so it will be new and hopefully fun. With 4 months before the first xpac there's plenty of time to work on it.

You can invite them over, then call them into a small room and then quickly have your sim leave the room and remove the door in build mode. As long as they aren't pregnant they will starve to death.

I quit TS3 because of the building system getting on my nerves too damn much. The building system in TS2 pwns TS3's system. Even though TS3 has more things to do in build mode.

Last night I did what I thought I would never do. I shut off the game just to stare at the wall at work because sims was to boring. Can't build anymore can't see the grid, plus I built so many houses already peeps on my AIM list have all their lots filled. -_- This game is hopeless. And now that we cannot make grimmy spawns. -_-() Challenges are no fun either because there to tedious for a person who gets distracted easily.

I've tried that. The townie teleported out of the room, said it was getting late and went home. :/

Gosh, how lame! EA thought creating a seamless hood would make the town feel alive but really, if they're going to allow teleportation and townie immunity, it just makes the player feel cheated.

The problem is everything in the game plays TOO DAMN SAFE! Takes much longer in TS3 to kill sims off. Non-household sims tele if you trap them. The social worker from what I hear hardly works right. Seriously if I wanna play things safe I'll go play Hello Kitty World which I won't cause I am not the throwing up type of guy.

I've never been one for creative killing of my Sims, but I know a lot of other people are, so it's kind of weird that they made it harder. Maybe they were getting complaints from Mom groups?
