Maylin, sarah*rose: Single donaters don't get a PM at all - they get the heart icon, which only gets set once per day. Once you get the heart icon, then the message box telling you about the donation drive will go away.

Apologies for the confusion.

Elephant: I'll go in and add back your creator icon now.

Right, I thought that might be the reason. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm not sure, but even if you can't what you could do is this:

- Make an account
- Add your credit card
- Send a donation
- Remove the credit card

That way the paypal account isn't linked to anything and the account just sits idle.

Okay I have just modified the "update single donators" script to run once an hour during the donation drive, rather than once a day as before. This should ensure you get your hearts quicker!

I'd love to donate, but couldn't you look into other ways of donating than using paypal, maybe at least for subscriptions? Because then I'd surely subscribe. I've had some bad experiences with paypal where money was being deducted from my account by someone else.

Aww! Now I have my little blue heart icon .... Thank you Delphy!

Sorry I can't take requests anymore!
And I will probably never convert my creations for TS2 to TS3.

smmi73, as mentioned the only ways to directly contribute are to use paypal (and get the little heart), or buy something from amazon (and dont). We don't have any other subscription methods set up.

You can also just delink your paypal account from any credit cards or bank accounts just to be safe

I donated $5 USD. Sorry I couldn't spare more, but I'm trying to pay off a new mountain bike.

You can donate via PayPal without having a PayPal account - they take all major credit and debit cards.

And thankyou to everyone who's donated so far - even $5 can feed a Server Hamster for a week.

If you guys say that by non having a PayPal account there's no risk, I'll do that. I rather donate to mts than to amazon. Are you sure it's safe?

Actually, it *did* let me donate without actually creating an account. I've never noticed that option before but it went straight through. Now at least, I know I can donate whenever I feel like it.

So those people who don't wish to create a PayPal account, you actually can just pay *via* PayPal without signing up!

I want to donate but don't get paid until next week so it will have to wait, so I hope the drive is still open!

It's as safe as any other online transaction with a reputable company - as long as you make sure you're on the appropriate site, that you can see the security certificate (little padlock icon in most browsers), and that they don't ask for any information they shouldn't need; then it's as safe as you can be without handing over cash.

$15 donated. I've been meaning to donate for a while, and I just got an unexpected €10 so I'm very happy to support the site. Thanks so much for everything you do for this community!

Happily done But you might want to remove some icons, as much as I would like it I'm not featured :P

Yeah, I'm not a creator, never mind a featured one and while I am addicted to this site, I only made a once off donation of $15, so I shouldn't have a Supportor-Addict icon.

And lanawinst, you have two creator icons!

Done, only wish I could afford more for what is hands-down the best Sims site, with the best tools and tutorials (I've learned to create many types of content for TS3 here, including learning meshing for the first time which has been a fantastically rewarding experience) AND the best quality downloads as well. Thanks for this great site!

I donated, but I forgot to mention my username. If you see donation from the Netherlands with number 47G54494M8537521C, that should be me.
