This program has been deprecated and replaced with the Sims3Dashboard tool, available from http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=387006

Tumblr - Yes, I have a blog. :)

<Corsix> Why 'mod the sims 2' when you can mod 'mod the sims 2'?

Story books are full of fairy tales, of Kings and Queens, and the bluest skies.

Awesome work, Delphy! I have run 2 of my suspect files thru your program and here is the result
__________

Checking for corrupted TXTC entries...
key:033A1435:00B0C382:4E878B392EB2354A
Checking for corrupted TGI offset... 9071...0 TGIs... TGI block end is at 9080...Incorrect!
Checking for correct offset...9070...18 TGIs... TGI block end is at 9367...Correct!
The above resource has been fixed.
key:033A1435:00B0C382:2906811095F36795
Checking for corrupted TGI offset... 7310...0 TGIs... TGI block end is at 7319...Incorrect!
Checking for correct offset...7309...16 TGIs... TGI block end is at 7574...Correct!
The above resource has been fixed.

This file had some corrupted TXTCs! They are now fixed.

Seems to be working from what I can see. Off to check my remaining files. Thank You!

Your tool worked flawlessly. All objects that had been bad and caused blue lots, were just fine after putting them through your tool. It fixed 48 previously bad objects.

Great work! :D

I haven't managed to patch my game yet, so I can't test if any of my objects are causing trouble. When I ran them through the tool, some of them did show up as having been fixed (and therefore having been bad). Should I assume that those packages were in fact bad and replace the versions here on MTS with the fixed versions I ran though the tool, or should I wait until I can test them?

I have a question, I have put most of the files threw this and tested them as well before putting them threw this, and the files that it fix never gave a blue lot, but the police car did and that was fix threw this objectfixer, great work Delphy, just wondering why would some with this problem give the blue lots and some that it did fix didn't give blue lots, I just find this kinda weird.

There was an error in the way S3OC cloner was creating certain resources (the TXTCs). This didn't always give blue lots with the game but it was always wrong, and could cause game problems in the future. So the advice is to take all your .package content through this fixer (probably better to let the original creators do it, and download it again). There is no need to do anything to Sims3Pack content, which is usually made with different tools that did not have this error.

I'd just like to point out, however, that an object with this bug that was converted to Sims3pack would still exhibit the problem.

BabaYaga: I'd just go ahead and upload the fixed packages.

Thank you for this. I did not experience this myself but I'm glad it got sorted out.

Question: I think still everybody that finds faulty DL should post them either here or in the Custom3 thread so everyone nows what to take out. There are people that either don't speak enough English or don't feel they are experienced enough to use this tool.

Checking through 100 DLs to see if there is an update will be a pain for everyone.

Should we check ALL cc or just certain categories ?

EDIT: How can we check sims3packs ?

Greetings

Yeah, it works! Great!
I opened all my download-objects (500 files) with this program. Half of them needed to be repaired. Then I started the game and placed all of them on a lot, saved, returned to main menu, loaded again and... NO blue lots! I'm so happy.

crinrict: Unless you've purposely made the package into a Sims3Pack you dont need to check it. Otherwise you can extract the Sims3pack and check it that way.

@Delphy: I didn't but since some people got the lemonc-plant through house DLs some people don't seem to know what they have.

Should we check ALL cc or just certain categories ?

OK, Delphy great job! But just a question, it's quiet clear with .package files, but how to check and fix .pack files? I found at least 6 objects causing blue lots all of them were Sims.pack files?

Thank you, Delphy! I haven't had this issue yet, but better be safe than sorry.

If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, it's yours. If it's run over by a car, you don't want it.

You just have to extract the program somewhere on your computer. The doubleclick on the BlueLotObjectFixer.exe and open each package-file in your Mods folder individually. The program repairs them automatically if they are damaged.

I extracted the program to my desktop, I took one of the files and added it to my desktop as well, I clicked on it but all it want to do is go back to my sims folders. I have the helper monkey installed also.. now what?

No, open the BlueLotObjectFixer.exe (double click) you just extracted to your desktop, go to File > Open, and then browse and find your .package file you want to fix.

If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, it's yours. If it's run over by a car, you don't want it.

Just for the sake of clarity, is this tool to be used to fix only objects? I would presume so since other things like clothing, hair, patterns are made with other tools but just want to be sure that I am correct. TIA for response.

First I want to thank you for making the tool and Inge for suggesting you help find the problem. I really adore the community modders for being on the problems and fixing them.

I am using the tool on some known objects that blue lot my test hood. Yesterday I tested 3 objects that definitely caused blue cut out lots in my test hood. Sent those objects through the tool and got the results that the files were okay, nothing was fixed. So I decided to re-test today after sending them through the BlueLotObjectFixer and the hood was okay. Shocked, I assume that just sending them through the BLOF may have stablized or did something to the files, even though they didn't need fixing.

Just reporting my findings if that may help.

Still thinking...

I found that almost all the paintings I downloaded needed fixing. I am going to wait and hope that someone makes a batch file fixer so it doesn't cause my carpal tunnel to flare while fixing dozens of files. Thanks for figuring this out!!

Giggles: This tool is NOT MEANT for normal people to use. It's meant purely for creators to fix the objects THEY made. I will be giving absolutely no support to normal members who attempt to use this.

lewisb: If the BLOF didn't find any issues, then it didn't do anything to the files.
